That's the problem with the direction we have headed with next generation. We're so obsessed with 4k and 50 million FPS that we're not focussing on actually graphics itself, i.e. texture pack/texture quality and detail, shading etc. This is what makes a game look good. Not so much resolution. Minecraft in 8k doesnt make it look better than GTA in 1080p. (Yes, completely different games but point being it's about texture quality)

I think and hope, that there won't be really a need for 8k next generation, because it wouldn't make such a difference and it would cost a lot of power to render 4 times the pixels. The same goes with doubling fps from 60 to 120. Instead it would be better to keep it 4k 60fps and improve graphical elements as you said.

Agreed, the likes of drive club still look more realistic than most newer racers.

it's more about geometric detail and lighting, not so much texture quality, textures already are very good.

@@giorginatidze3560 They are very good but have they really moved on that much compared to 2010's? An example I can give is rainbow six siege, the PS5 upgrade offers 4k resolution and 120fps but the Devs have confirmed no actual lighting and texture improvement. This goes to show that the focus is on resolution and FPS, not texture and lighting (for the most part).

@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 Textures don't need to be improved, they may become higher ress, but that won't give a huge leap in graphical quality, cause they are just textures- 2D flat color information to give colors to an object, as they are today they are good enough, what we really need is higher quality geometry - and that really have not changed since 2010 and it's critical for better visuals. Mostly when people say we need higher quality textures, they mean higher quality geometry.

Sad to see this being a launch title for ps4. I mean just look at project cars 3 or any other game that's going to launch soon or has launched in the past couple of years, no game even comes close to these graphics even though this game is almost 7 years old.

@@David-mf3bn You're wrong. 100% wrong. Forza Horizon has no rain physics. Even the color of the wheels change in the game depending on how fast you drive. That is really crap.

@@CrusardModding I'm not saying that Forza has better graphics, but it really doesn't make Forza look like crap. In terms of other games yes, WRC, NFS, or Forza Motorsport lools like crap against Driveclub, but Forza has much better graphics than these games.

Driveclub. This is one of a kind racing game and it was released exclusively on PS4. The graphics and the amount of details they add is so Phenomenal, it feels like an absolute photorealistic game, compared to the racing games that got released in 2014 and upward and their graphics aren't as good as Driveclub. Look at Forza Horizon 3, yeah it looks great but Driveclub still better in my book.

Just imagine a PC port of this game (with Modding! 😆). It would have been awesome! Such a shame this studio was discontinued - they did on a PS4 what Gran turismo couldn't achieve! (maybe that's why they were shut down?!?)

Think Devs on the console version of ACC have destroyed the game with the latest patch. Yet this game was a release game that was fully supported from day one patch after patch.

ONLY in rain as it disguises the poor image quality and outdated assets. There's some old 240p footage of PGR4 out there that also looks photo-realistic for the same reasons.
