Thanks as always Tim. Like you I've been using Tableau for many years and been a hardcore Tableau fanboy since v 8.2. I am sensing a slow degradation of things with feature enhancements as well as other aspects of Tableau. I think it's related to the Salesforce move
Great job, as always! I was waiting for your reaction about the "data pane follows you." Haha. Nice. Yup. The simple gesture feature is confusing. That's the current behavior. Maybe the promo video doesn't capture it.
@@TableauTim the modify key was held in the demo and they created a new measure. this was not possible so far imho. You had to copy and convert in two steps
thanks for th feedback ! Always welcome. What I meant in the video is that you can't yet buy Tableau cloud site and use it purely for embedding like you can with the embedded tableau server license but I definitely didn't make that clear or maybe i have it wrong still?
@@TableauTim I'm affraid you still have it wrong :) You can already purchase Tableau Cloud licences for embedding purpose. I'm currently helping a company who wants to embed Tableau Cloud views into its web portal. They bought viewer licenses for that purpose.

Alteryx is tried and tested, commands a premium but that's the incumbent tool for no code prep and then you have DBT which leans on sql but is bound to change the way this sort of work is done.

@@TableauTim Playing with Null Values Apart From Removing Them, Like Inserting Values (Like we do in python Pandas) Inserting Mean of the column, or Likewise Inserting values Typically. Cuz we would not prefer to remove the whole null rows, Hence Adding Values in Place of Nulls, making it better to include the dataset for analysis
promises promises. I've figured out over time that some features have a 3 year timeline and we sometimes see them on devs on stage at the very start of that journey and other times right at the end. Virtual connections was shown almost 4 years ago but only just came out as part of an Addon but i think Visulisation extensions will become part of the exchange and probably relies on both the analytics dev teams and the exchange product team working together to ship it. My worry is that Salesforce might redirect resource towards its platform linked features for a while yet. Easily a video in itslef.
