I remember when I was little, I went to a little concert with my brother. All I had to wear was Nike stuff, and since we were going to a metal concert, I wanted to wear a band shirt. My brother let me borrow his Whitechapel shirt, and I had no idea who they were. We got to the concert and I got so many compliments on the shirt, and didnt think much of it. About a year later, I saw a link on RU-vid for them and decided to check it out. Now, they are my favorite band, and always will be. Whitechapel for life.
Phil you are impressive on many levels. It's very cool that you allow fans to get to know you, to some degree. Big fan since 2007, a true inspiration and for that i thank you.
You're one humble dude, I'm very impressed, great work man. Just heard your guest vocals on the song "The Alpha The Omega" for the first time today, way to absolutely kill that song, your guterals melted my face dude, amazing work. Hope to see you guys some day. Never let the haters get to you man, your talent is hard to come by so keep it up!
Man, Im so glad I found your channel a couple of days back. I am starting just starting up a band and I just have to say that as a vocalist, musician and a human being, you are a big source of insipiration for me. Its nice to know that people like you are out there. Thank you.
Dude no thank you for making this amazing music. You deserve it all man. We owe you for bringing this amazing style of music into our life. Keep the great work up man. Hope to see you live one day.
It really relieving to hear when someone who puts out music and is well know is as down to earth as you. Makes me want to support the band and you even more. Major props and keep slaying in black ops 2. It seems your good at everything lol
Hi Phil, Just wanted to say thanks to you and the band, right here and now for the music that is an outlet for many emotions both good and bad, without having the negative implode inside. And a big thank you to your grandparents that helped guide and nurture you, and heaven forbid if anything happened to them whilst you was on tour, they'd know you was doing what you was passionate about and would be around people that care so much for you, and they'd be honoured to have such a decent and lov
My favorite vocalist has a RU-vid channel!? So subbed! I have so much respect for you Phil! The music WC makes always lifts my spirits when I'm depressed! Keep doing what you're doing! \m/
Dude your fuckin awesome for doing these videos and allowing us to get to know you on a personal level. Like you said touring gets hard but you know your fans fucking love you guys and there's fans that count down the days to see whitechapel just to be able to let loose from all their bullshit for a couple hours so you guys definitely gotta keep it coming.
love all your videos music and band bro! Such a down to Earth person and that's something a lot more people need to learn and should take pride in. You are an amazing idol to have and I look forward to more videos, the new album, and seeing Whitechapel live again! Keep up the good shit!
You're wonderfully grounded. I still enjoy meeting down-to-earth people in any walk of society, makes someone so much easier to talk to. Madly jealous of your job though..!
I talked to alex last saturday at nv and told him thanks for being one of the members of one of the hardest working bands out there, you guys music means the world to me and i really liked what you did with with the sawblade logo having the 3 stars for tn.
Awesome video, my buddy is in a band that is starting to tour and I can tell the fact that being away from home, friends, family and his girlfriend makes for a much different lifestyle than most.
wow I just found out you have all of these videos, hope you see this comment. been a huge fan since back in high school somewhere early like idk 2007? 2008??? don't regret buying whitechapel merch and being a fan seeing how down to earth you are. fucking awesome, hope to see you in AZ coming Oct
Yea dude I feel you on all of that I mean I'm in a brand new band right now and we're playing with you know well known bands and at this point we've already put so much time and money in it how could we ever leave such a great/stressful place in our lives atleast for me
Hey mate, i hope you come to Norway soon :- ) I bought the ticket to august burns red, prada, and whitechapel tour just because of you guys :- ) I traveled a long way to go and watch you guys, sucks that you couldnt show up. Hope you can come back soon and take Norway with storm. THUMBS UP
Phil...you are just fucking amazing, really! I am in the East of Europe, a small fucking country called Bulgaria, but thanks to the Internet i can be closer to my favourite band and to my idol! Thank you!
I'd love for my pop punk band to one day take off and tour around the world. We're at 259 likes so it'll take a long time. You bring up a good point Phil, I don't know if I'd be able to live the touring the life style. It seems like a lot of work and stress. Yeah the shows and seeing different places must be lovely, but missing everything at home is always on your mind. I give you props for doing it and staying strong.
Phil, after watching all your videos, I feel like I know you personally. It's almost weird to see you on stage at this point lol. They're awesome keep posting them.
Hey Phil, i know this is your personal channel, great channel by the way, but i was just wondering when will Whitechapel be touring Australia soon? it would be amazing and a dream come true to finnaly see Whitechapel live, i know atvleast 15+ of my friends would love to see the band live for the first time and it would be brutal to be able to see you's perform some of my favourite songs, "Alone In The Morgue", "Messiahbolical", "This Is Exile", "I,Dementia" and "(Cult)uralist"
I'm not big on CoD, but god damn I could listen to you talk all day about just about anything. Seriously, do a video on building canoes and I'd watch the whole damn thing.
Philly Bo. I know that feel of having to be raised by your grandparents almost your whole life and losing a father at a early age. I would love to be in a touring band that plays the kind of music you play while seeing the world, but it would be like coming back home and losing one more family member and your home changing after months of being gone.
Seriously.. I honestly may not be the biggest fan, but it's like I know you personally. You're one of the most down to earth guys I have ever listened to (can't say I've met you). I was wondering though, how did your education come into play, not just for life itself, but your career in music? I see so many people just giving up thinking they'll get famous. It'd be interesting to know your say in it.
Phil, my friend alex and i are huggggeeeee funs of whitechapel! we love the dark lyrics, triple guitar attack and that you guys love your fans so much! if you could maybe check out our band "The Banality of Evil" It would be so very appreciated man. You guys in whitechapel have had such an influence on what we want for a sound in a band. Thanks phil! Keep it metal!
you got the "friends changing" part right. i used to have a FB, and my 29th birthday was coming up (this was last year of course and im 30 now), i sent out invites to everyone on my list, and months in advance at that. few replied to it, no one showed. thats when i realised who all my real friends were, and why i choose to be a loner cause theres far too many fake ppl out there.
They've got a tour bus so it can't be that bad lol. My mates who are touring at the moment could barely scrounge enough together to rent a Hiace. Still, always worth it.
Despite all the arguments about bands like Whitechapel and if they are proper metal I have personally like the band. Really brutal and heavy, but at the same time down to earth guys who haven't got an inflated sense of self worth like I see from other musicians. Phil seems like a good guy and I think it's really cool that he does RU-vid vids to give fans a more personal insight into him as a person. Looking forward to seeing Whitechapel at Bloodstock this year, I'm sure they'll rip it up \m/
Phill i just got into Whitechapel .Can you recommend some Whitechapel songs ? I prefer the songs with nice riffing , melody , profficient guitar playing and great solos . P.S. You are one of my favourite vocalists !!!
Ive never been in a band, but always thought one of the coolest parts of being in a band was that you pretty much get to work with some of your best friends. and your job is just to travel for 1-3 months and play music while getting long breaks in between. I definitely see how tough it could be though. You pretty much have to live in a cramped space that probably smells like shit and weed 24/7 away from your comfy bed at home. But you get to do it with your friends and it can still be a great time to spend it with em. Id much rather prefer that than a 9-5 for the rest of my life dealing with customer service and shit.
Hey Phil, I'm a huge fan of Whitechapel's, and you're my top favorite vocalist. I really appreciate the music you and your guys put out, and it's a dream of mine to become a big time musician. I'm not in a band, I'm just a one-man-band guitarist who makes music and it would be a huge honor if you would listen to my demo songs. It would mean a lot to me, if you would like to, then please inbox me. Again, thank you so much for the music and offering this close of a fan relationship.
