Hi ! What a demonstration. Guess he uses false cord to create this guttural. Air management is top notch. Impossible for me to last more than 5 secondes in false cord, maybe i do something wrong but don't know why 😂 if you have any tips, please share guys !
It’s really crazy but I could listen to Phil for hours .. it doesn’t matter if he talks, sings or screams, his voice / vocal range is just relaxing to me
1. warm up 2. learn your range 3. practice 4. dont overdo it, take it easy 5. rest your voice 6. have confidence 7. challenge yourself 8. use mouth movements; tongue, cheek, etc 9. use different body positions 10. stay hydrated

Thank you fellas for coming to tampa. I’ve been listening to you since 14 and I feel lucky to have seen you finally at 26. Thank you for being such a positive influence to those of us growing up after you. Love you man.
Ive never been in a band, but always thought one of the coolest parts of being in a band was that you pretty much get to work with some of your best friends. and your job is just to travel for 1-3 months and play music while getting long breaks in between. I definitely see how tough it could be though. You pretty much have to live in a cramped space that probably smells like shit and weed 24/7 away from your comfy bed at home. But you get to do it with your friends and it can still be a great time to spend it with em. Id much rather prefer that than a 9-5 for the rest of my life dealing with customer service and shit.
I became fan of Phil 5 years ago, listening to Whitechapel and after listen to this I really liekd him more. Go for it man. You are a great lyricist and your song is incredible. I lost my dad when I was 26 and is not easy at all. Thanks bro! God bless you.
That's so funny that vomiting is your greatest fear and that you don't like the sound because I mean no disrespect by this, I love your vocals but they have always reminded me of the sound that someone makes when they are throwing up when you do your low.guttetals
That weird grunting breathing is called agonal breathing. It’s what happens when the persons body is shutting down and is moments from death. It usually occurs from cardiac arrest. When the brain doesn’t get enough oxygen, its your bodies natural reflex. I’ve heard it several times with family members and was curious when I first heard it as well like 20 years ago
Pretty late comment but I have extreme anxiety nearly everyday. I overthink everything and one of my main problems is hypochondria, I’m constantly worried I have some sort of major illness. Anxiety sucks but I know I’m not alone with this shitty problem.
Something so incredibly entertaining about seeing 2013 Phil being a RU-vidr. I couldn't imagine Phil trying to be a 2022 RU-vidr. This video's a really cool trip down memory lane. I was in 10th grade, and I was *finally* exploring Whitechapel. I first heard y'all with This Is Exile on Headbanger's Ball. It was the only deathcore song I knew for maybe 4-5 years. Once I got into you guys, I started with This Is Exile and The Somatic Defilement, and the rest is history. Well, after I googled a bunch of words I didn't know! I don't know if you'll check the comments on this video ever again, but thanks for giving me some awesome memories and awesome music. \m/
