I honestly think in this day and age it’s gonna be hard to get real saints like Catherine of Siena. It just seems like we’re watering down the criteria for what is now considered to be a 21st-century saint. I could be wrong.

New Catholic here. I read a book about the church fathers. St. Gregory the great said we must not detract any clergy because they had hands laid upon them that lead back to Christ. St C of Siena sent a letter to Bishops saying, "you're supposed to be a fragrant flower not a stinking weed!" Courageous for a woman in those times. She was told by Dominican Friars to take off the Habit as she was only a Tertiary and she said, "No!" Courageous in her times and let us be courageous in our times. Saints will rise up for us too! Pray for that. I dont agree with you entirely. Sedevacantists express what is happening, has been happening that all needs correction due to incorrupt changes and losses. There is nothing wrong with saving & cherishing the liturgy as handed down from Jesus and the Apostles. Why be wishy washy and compromising against one's better discernment, soul & conscience?🙏🕊

There have been many moments throughout history when the seat has been vacant, but Holy Mother Church is still just as alive as ever. How is this? Because Holy Mother Church always retains real Life, oneness, and unity through the one saving Sacrifice: our Lord’s singular self-offering on Golgotha, re-presented through Holy Mass. Furthermore, Holy Mother Church always retains Life, oneness, and unity through Her perennial teaching-the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Faith.

It does not follow that because we recognize Bergoglio is a heretic by his own public statements, we therefore "want" to leave Holy Mother Church or be in schism. Neither do we want to, nor have we. The point is that the man Bergoglio, who either did or never did validly sit upon the Seat of Peter, seems at this point not to be Pope. "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema." --Galatians 1:8 How else are we supposed to take this? Pray for him--of course. But call him pope? You would have us be in schism with the Church of Ages, in order to be in union with the man Bergoglio. Obedience is a high virtue, but it is not higher than Faith.

A few points to ponder upon 1. People want to live during a good age, and be part of a successful group. People hop to other groups if they're not able to make the original group more "successful". People hate penances, sacrifices and ridicules. Living during a bad time does not bring them glory. People want to experience the glory now on this earth, to be respected when they still walk the earth. 2. People don't connect with Jesus in the Scripture. They are like the lukewarm disciples who imagined Jesus to be the messiah that would not suffer humiliation. They don't want the Isaian messiah. Or they think Jesus alone suffered and they don't need to, or that they get to choose what to suffer and what not to. So they clearly reject the suffering of living in not so fervant times. They think this "suffering" that is awarded to them is not needed, so in a way they belittle God. 3. People generally don't trust in God's arrangement, which in the language of the Scripture is called "wisdom of God". This thinking especially permeates today's generation. We are indoctrinated from a young age that societies can improve themselves not by superstition but by educational and technological training. We then spent our time learning about thinkers, rulers and scientists. We felt we had to be like them and do something, rather than falling behind due to inactivity. Slowly people believe less and less in the efficacy of trusting in God's wisdom and in prayers, treating them as useless mental consolation. People feel that God speaks directly to them rather than through a third agent which doesn't bring them worldly success. Hence they think the Church is a tool rather than the true Temple; a tool that can and should be discarded, replaced and modified when needed.
