Origins has become such a stressful line to collect. Not only have they got really expensive with Mattel creations, but these dumb exclusives that Canada doesn’t get are so hard to get a hold of. I seriously can’t wait for the stuff I like to come out so that i can step out if collecting these.
how mattel handles their mattel creations motu origins exclusive figures is just atrocious and downright insulting to fans and collectors of this line!
Same with me man! I just wanted to finish up the last few characters as fast as possible. I was so pissed off when they moved them over to Mattel Creations. Now it's going to take forever to finish up. They are dragging the line out on purpose & it's annoying as hell. I just want to finish up & put it behind me. I hate the Cartoon Collection & I don't really care about Turtles Of Grayskull.
They think people like me will buy other stuff waiting on the rest of the figures to go to Mattel creations. The problem is they make those hard to get also
The line has and is struggling. I can’t see Masterverse lasting more than another year or so at retail. In 18 months or so I can see Origins being over and Masterverse done only online.
It blows my mind that they don't do the made to order thing for all their exclusives, like they did with Grizzlor. Want one first? Here's when a limited number go live. Ok to wait? Then order one at this time and we'll send it later.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I forgot they did that with Wundar too. Yeah, it makes no sense at all. You would think they would like more guaranteed money, but what do I know...
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I don't understand how they could have issues with the "made to order" system. The only possible problem I can think of is someone cancelling, and even then- how can it be a problem? It's not like the product is gonna just sit there forever. IT WILL SELL! Mattel's business acumen seems non-existent. >.
shame this line is so inaccesable, I tried to get into it but the moment I saw the first mattel creations exclusive I dropped the line. doesn't help they decided to overproduce certain figures (if you know, you know) that still warm the pegs till this very day. I def wish they would focus more on the new eternia figures, Im barley seeing anymore of those.
Everything you've said is spot on. I wished they would make more damn inventory! THEY ALWAYS Sale out waay too fast and it almost feels like they don't want the money! So many times I've lost out by a mere seconds or minutes..that's just bad economics. Honestly I hope it's almost Over!
I had to buy 3 Origins Castle Grayskull to finally get one with a decent box, and at full price, not the discounted 30-70℅ off prices that were available in the States. Lol 😂, the crazy side of me looking for undamaged box for Grayskull box as i love the artwork.
That screen shot of the Eternia packages hurt me I feel there pain😢 man I got really lucky but I live in PA not far from the factory but I still didn't open it to check if anything is wrong inside 😬
I wish they would start preorders exclusively for members at least a month before production begins, and then produce the numbers of these in addition to what they had planned on making. The true collectors would be very happy with this. In addition, offering package free products would be great about saving us consumers a little money (and we all know the packaging costs more to produce than the figures/dolls themselves). I've had the same problem trying to order Monster High dolls from them. They often sell out in minutes or even less (especially crossover stuff like Universal Monsters and other horror properties). The way Mattel is currently selling collector items makes it seem like they just want to enjoy the products themselves and only produce extra so that consumers are footing the bill to get it made. This is just dumb when they could make such a huge profit on these exclusives!
Mattel has been dead to me since they attempted to sue MGA into oblivion over Bratz. my wife collected them back when they were first out - and then she couldnt anymore because of Mattel's frivolous lawsuits against them.
I ordered the Masterverse Vykron Figure and it took four weeks for me to get it in hand. After two weeks I emailed them asking what was going on and they pretty much told me to just wait. I’ve ordered product from China that’s taken less time to arrive to me.
Matchbox and Barbie are the only lines from Mattel that I bought for my kids more than a decade ago. They stopped pestering me to buy the latest toy when they began using their smartphones
I had a very near complete collection both loose and MIB. Three in the towel once I started failing to secure a few MC offerings. Pains me to look at my MOTUO Collection these days. Didn’t even try for Rokkon. I’m done with Origins.
Mattel Creations pissed me off when most of the figures were $18 but Camo Khan was $33. I was really pissed over that. I refused to order him. I can make my own custom now that I got Rattle Hood from the 4 pack.
i'd love to get these figures, but i'm still burnt from Matty Collector's 8" He-Man subscription i had. I remember being outraged that i paid $35 for one figure, and most of that was on their ridiculous shipping.
I remember hearing that each figure cost about that but other collectors said they only paid around $28 per figure through Matty collector. Still for the time was just a crazy amount for a figure either way
Thankfully ive had no issues except having to be ready as soon as these drop to be able to buy. Fedex is ridiculous they need to use another company for shipping. Im just glad my eternia wasnt damaged and i havent had any figures danaged bc if you do you wont get a replacement youll get what they give you or youre getting a refund.
I'm in CO and no update on my 2 Rokkons. Just says the May 17th date and paid 😆 I'm feeling like masterverse is going to go online exclusive too because they just don't move well in retail from what I see, whether it's origins or masterverse (my walmart stopped carrying both). I felt like snout spout was a sign of things to come the moment I saw the announcement. The shipping is egregious when their existing store inventory is so low & picked over, and new figures are drip fed out racking up shipping for each piece going forward. Terrible. No inventory or incentive to spend $X for free shipping. I got 2 Rokkons so I can scalp one of them to buy Frog Monger for a scalped price since I missed him. I'm actually surprised the cartoon line is hitting retail even, but probably not long. Future of the lines are uncertain.
I'm into Masterverse...so I guess I'm on the Mattel hook for awhile. But I'm not in on every character from the original line ..plus I have a few Classics for gap fillers(which I see is the reverse for long time MOTU collectors). I'm waiting for new Grayskull and Snake Mountain basically. And yes, it's a desert out there for MOTU...it's almost like they are just emptying the warehouse on old waves...and the new stuff is only online.
indeed with Fang-Or thee exact same thing happened last year with - no international shipping - so i had to get my mine and two other fellows Figures shipped to us via Youshop by NZ Post - and now i had to do the same with Rokkon. and of course that all costs more in shipping than MC'S $29.95 USD international shipping plus thee $6.99 USD flat rate to get items posted to Youshop. i suppose it made it easier on us with Fang-Or as we split shared the $89 NZD shipping 3 ways.
I collect masterverse and grab basically everything. I dont collect orgins but the turtles of grayskull. living in germany I only skip the deluxe ones for the turtles as they are insanely priced. Krang for example is 150 usd plus international shipping, absolutely crazy
I am in australia and I have made the effort 1 time on MC and it was successful… was 3:45am worth it… we shall see, i don’t have Rokkon yet. Now, personally i do not collect any of the mini comic or sunman stuff. If it was in the vintage line, i try… although i really do want Fang Or, but, i am not paying $100 Dollarydoos for one.
Cmon dude are you that crazy to think a company is going to blacklist because you made a compliant?. Or more likely Hasbro are just inept which is proabably the most correct answer. Plus it's so tiring hearing Americans complain about prices where try collecting this crap in Europe and feel and meet real pain.
My Rokkon shipped today. So I'm receiving mine even later than you. Also I had to return Eternia and Mattel sent me an email stating that they will replace it and there is nothing in the email about refund.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 there was a hole punched through the front of the box. Right through the poster and everything. I specifically asked that they send me something in writing saying I will get a replacement and not a refund if I send it back and they sent me an email memorializing the conversation.
I got the one's I wanted but i quit origins and all motu i had enough mattel about motu the only thing i buy from them is Hot Wheels that's it. Good video keep the great content.
Same crud with Monster High. Wasted money paying for the fang club. Sold out immediately and was instantly listed by scalpers on eBay. 🤬 Such a rip-off.
I was thinking you’d do an honest video as I do not know anyone who can use the website who has not had issues even once. I’m in the UK so we aren’t served by it. I dint lose any sleep over it but it is a pain, but like Hasbro if Mattel dint want to take my money I’m cool with that.
Never collected the origins line. Considered the mess short, squat, deformed, ugly, grotesque, mishaped oddities. Not action figures. But when revelation came out grabbed a few. Liked them. Now truly the origins has stepped up with the cartoon collection. Looking forward to a hordak 😂❤
Wow thats crazy. I got my Rokkon 2 days after it went live 😅. I think it has to do with how fast you put in your order. I had mine in and done within the first minute.
Well, man, the $5 bump-up is quite a lot from a certain point of view, BUT from a different perspective it is fairly understandable. We've been in the post-Covid economic crisis for over two years now and LOTS of stuff unfortunately became more expensive by a massive margin, so no surprises here. Also, even if there weren't the crisis and the associated price hikes, some price increase would be expected nonetheless since even a minimal inflation always occurs and the Origins toyline has now been around for a fifth year.
Yes things have gotten more expensive but they are now losing a lot of Fringe collectors that were barely in it and that does not end well for the line as a whole
