This is what I feel bands should do. Each album becomes its own universe. They already did The Dark Pool, now it’s time for something new. If you want to hear The Dark Pool, go listen to it. The new sound is killer, unique, and it simply just works.

I can hear elements of Northlane, Deftones and old-era Muse. I'm all here for it. Love their originality and they can do whatever direction they want (in my opinion) if they keep doing it this well.

Listening to The Haze straight into Red Summer will never not give me goosebumps. Even after what feels like at least 500 listens since 2019

Reminds me of Defones mixed with Muse with a grungy feel. Can't wait for what these guys have in store for us!

Their last album is near perfect, and so far this new direction is at the very least interesting as fuck, can’t wait to see where they go

I didn't like the first Thornhill song I heard, and I didn't like The Dark Pool the first time I heard it. Now I love that song and The Dark Pool is one of my top 5 all-time-favorite albums. Imma let this one grow on me as well. Because I feel like I did the first time I heard them, so I'm excited to see where this leads. They're challenging our expectations.

I absolutely love this new direction. Glad to see it's not just Dark Pool 2.

It's definetly one of those tracks you need to listen a couple times to get a feel of it. I didn't like the song at first and it's different from TDP but I would listen to it again.

This reminded me a lot of Muse especially with the chorus but this was pretty cool. Honestly it's not really something that I will listen to a lot but I enjoyed this. Also if this doesnt get Jacob a girlfriend I don't know what will 😂

It took like 3 listens, but I’m totally on board. Along with the Muse and Deftones comparisons, I’m also getting some Cane Hill “Power of the High” vibes in the music and the video. Great reaction as always!

Feels kinda like the singer channeled his inner chino (reminds me of What happened to you?) especially in the refrain and the music just followed, really love it! Songs I would recommend from the last Album to check again: Nurture, Views from the sun, Human and of course Where do we go when we die, but you allready mentioned this incredible piece of music :)

I was very uncertain about the vocals on the premiere but I’ve been listening to this track a lot and holy SHIT it’s good. So fresh. So rad.

This song is a banger in my opinion, love the low guitar, makes me wanna dance. Not a big fan of the voice distortion but it still sounds good, especially the chorus, very Muse like. Can't wait to hear more :D. Oh and yeah, Human is definitely my favorite from The Dark Pool, but every song on there is god like.

I can dig it. It seriously took a few listens to get a feel of it tbh. I was just confused on first listen lol. The Dark Pool was one of my favorite albums of all time, so this sound change is gonna take some getting used to.

I've been wanting to hear more modern metal/metalcore bands take influence from bands like Muse more, and I'm honestly really glad that Thornhill was the one to pull it off. Also, The Haze and Lily & The Moon are probably my 2 favorite songs on The Dark Pool. Highly recommend giving those 2 songs another listen.

Reptile is my fav song from them. Heard it back in 2018 and till this day, I still listen to it often.

As I continue to have this song on repeat, I can't help but feel that the energy shifts here are so so good. Like during that "promiscuous" line, even though it's not actually **that** heavy, I have not wanted to head bang so hard on a song lol. So many parts that seem from afar shouldn't go together but it just takes you for a ride

I love that they are changing so much and that they are experimenting and finding their own sound and universe. Can't blame the change !

I really hope the new album is some type of concept where each track relates to each other. then this track will make sense and have context in respect to the whole album

Reptile is one of their best work, and Temperer is one of their first song that they've put out that got them more famous in the scene

It’s very early 2000’s muse and I’m all for it, I don’t think I could enjoy a full album with the vocals produced like that but the song was great

Human, Reptile, Lily and the Moon....phenomenal Thornhill tracks. I liked Casanova when I first heard it, and was taken aback by the change up, but I like it more and more with each listen and every discovered detail.

Fav Thornhill tracks off the top of my head are Reptile, Joy, Temperer, Limbo, Lily & The Moon, Where We Go… I loved this track upon first listen, 2nd guessed myself after seeing all the dislike, but every time I revisit this track I love it more than the last time. I’m excited to hear it in context with the full album once its out.

Sunflower by Thornhill is really good. So bouncy and catchy. Definitely my favourite song by them

I usually hate reaction videos. But this was actually really good. Have never seen your videos before but these seemed really genuine like it actually was the first time you’d heard it and the discussion afterwards was spot on. I was a little disappointed by the song at first but once I put aside the expectations and wanting more TDP it’s actually pretty rad and pretty innovative from them. They’re going to blow up big time soon.

My friends have been telling me they are a huge fan of this song cause its not "TDP 2" but personally, I really like this song. And honestly I prefer the Butterfly EP over some songs on TDP.

I personally don't think it's a "Natural" evolution of their sound... It's one that will leave a sour taste in the mouths of a lot of hardcore Thornhill fans because the unique sound that so many fell in love with (Big ambiance, Technical riffs, Clean beautiful Vocals) seems to have completely gone. If you played this song for me and didn't tell me it's Thornhill, I likely would have never guessed it was them... And with them being in my top five favorite bands, it's rather disappointing to think that the sound I love from them so much may be gone. Here's to hoping this was an experimental track.

I really dont understand people saying this isn't like them. Yeah, it's extremely different from The Dark Pool, but Reptile off of their EP has a very similar vibe, it's not the first time they've played around with nu metal. Immediately thought of that song when the vocals come in. I personally love it.

I like muse, I like Thornhill and I dont mind deftones. But my gut reaction was ??? I think it makes sense for the thornhill boys to switch it up. They got alot of hate from the scene for not "screaming" etc or people not liking the cleans. Personally I liked that about them. My concern however is the did have a "thornhill sound" on Dark Pool. Thats a hard feat for a band. Seems a bit off to swap to something like this. But as long as its their decision its all good.

It feels "different" but tbh no one should've been surprised after they heard Nurture, Thornhill really stands out I'm so into that because the tone is still insane, Jacob's voice is still insane, I'm a good fan of Deftones/Loathe and the first verse reminds me of Supermassive Black Hole so this is like a 9/10 to me

I think I expected that the sound will completely change in contrast to tdp. Ethan wrote about it in his Instagram, so I just, I don’t know, was waiting for good music and that’s it. The song is incredible, for real, and I don’t understand those people who hate Thornhill because they have changed their sound🤷‍♂️

I know they said they were changing their sound but I didn't expect this. I got Deftones vibes mixed with Muse which I thought wasn't that bad. I'm just hoping the new album is good. It would never beat The Dark Pool but that would be a hard album to beat imo. I'm also all for them experimenting with different sounds but I'm hoping they don't do a BMTH and turn into some weird 'pop ish' band. But hey? maybe they will change my mind.
