Good to see someone discussing this. I'm doing a documentary on strokes since I had mine 16 weeks ago.if you like to be apart of it heck I can probably use some of this with permission. Got to use my brain and be creative to keep my sanity not used to all this yet and I love film production

The only way to know 'what it's like to have a stroke' is to have one, I don't mean a TIA. I mean a significant, dibilitating stroke like ours. I've come a long way since mine 3yrs ago however, am 'NOWHERE NEAR' back to my old self. This dreadful afliction sucks your life force dry.

Right there with you. Still recovering after 3.5 years inspite of what the doctors and medical “experts” say. Bottom line is: you have to take charge and direct your recovery or it will be minimal.

You’re welcome! I have a RU-vid channel about speech therapy for neurologic injuries. Really great hearing the perspective of a survivor.

I had my stroke 2022 I was 55. I’ve had the same as you. My right side paralyzed. I still can’t use my right hand back to normal. My small motor skills are not back. I’m just now being able to write my name again. I’m walking with a limp. I’m still numb on the right side. I get brain fog possibly from the other part of my brain working the damage part!

Does ur arms and legs stiff sir during ur strokes?
@HowIConqueredStroke
@HowIConqueredStroke Месяц назад
If I understand your question correctly, my right side arm and leg still stiffen and lock up if I don't work constantly to maintain flexibility.

What about pain medicine did you take any or muscle relaxers & gabapentin?
@HowIConqueredStroke
@HowIConqueredStroke 7 месяцев назад
I don't know what they gave for the first month. I was not the most aware of my surroundings. After that, just baby Aspirin and it's purpose was not pain. No other pain killers but I have historically had a high pain threshold.

What about the cognitive problems and mental brain issues?
@HowIConqueredStroke
@HowIConqueredStroke 8 месяцев назад
I gave several of the most common in Ep 2. I discuss others in the various episodes. This is the story my personal journey. I had supposedly one third of the brain lost. In effect everything I had stemmed from the brain. For instance when I discuss "emotional hypersensitivity" I consider that a brain issue. I hope this clarifies for you . I hope you improve.
