The all season tires are Awesome. I have had them on my 15 for 3 years and the ride difference is night and day. They still handle great and are so good in the rain. If someone is thinking about going to the all season they will not be disappointed. Great Vlog Rick.

Nice video Rick. Very informative. For those of us who do not have to contend with very cold weather I'd like to suggest another tire for your strong consideration. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP is a Max. Performance tire that has superb handling and ride characteristics in both wet and dry conditions. I live in Florida and the cloud bursts we have in this state during the summer rainy season are extreme weather events and can come on suddenly. The width of the tire package on a GS would make driving at typical highway speeds a hairy experience with less capable tires. In those conditions and it is commonplace to see vehicles spin out on the freeway and off into the grass and trees. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP handles these conditions with ease. Shedding water and maintaining desired track and traction. And, no, I do not work for Michelin. I'm just a project manager in the Aerospace/Defense industry.

Thx for another great Vette related vlog. The 16 Stingray I purchased in Dec 2018 came with a set of MPSS tires. Was annoyed with the skipping & the inability to drive the car in temps below 40 deg. So after some research, purchased a set of the AS3+ tires & am a happy camper. No more skipping or having to worry about the temperatures (down to about 10 deg). Am able to now drive comfortably & securely. Prior to the tire change I was able to cause the PSS's to lose traction several times in large, empty parking lots & once while accelerating out of a turn. Friends have also been surprised how well the AS3's ride vs other run flats.

Rick this is why people tune into your vlog. Not everyone that owns a Corvette is a motor head.. Some of us look forward to your Vlogs so we can learn things that can help us. I have a Stingray that will be needing tires so this came in handy. The only thing i think i'm going to do is go with a 19 & 20" instead of the smaller size.. Thanks again!!

Like you said Rick, your driving a race car with with race performance tires there going to wear out faster and act sensitive to cold temperatures. All seasons are the way to go there days, great review with good results.

Love the Michelin AS3+ tires on my GS Z07, not only a softer ride but quieter also and they grip plenty good enough on the street. Just sold my Cup 2 tires with 4500 miles on them last night for a couple hundred bucks, maybe could have gotten a little more but there wasn't a whole got of tread left. Oh and my tires were mounted and road force balanced by the best Corvette tech, Chuck Metz at Coughlin Corvette Pataskala.

At 6500 miles on my '17 Z51 Stingray, I took off perfectly good original tires and installed Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ so I could safely drive thru the winter (such as it is here in NC). I did NOT drive it when we got 5" of snow this winter, but otherwise I drove it all winter. Instead of putting the original tires back on now that the weather is warmer, I'm just going to sell them. I LOVE THE ALL SEASON MICHELIN's. Nothing else will be on my car. Good info, Rick. Glad you finally got this vlog out!

I bought a set of Michelin AS3 Plus and had them installed on my 2017 GS in December 2018. It’s been a great driving experience not worrying about the temps being below 40 or getting caught in the rain. Great recommendation Rick!!

Rick great topic. I've gotten the Michelin AS3's already and they are fantastic, what a difference. The Summer tires are junk and it is frustrating that Corvette doesn't provide tire options. I wish I could have changed them right away but that was too big of a $$ jump. I hope they offer something better on the C8 and I appreciate you're allocation and earlier then expected tease. I want to do something soon but I keep going back and forth between C8 or another C7, guess I'm waiting until 11pm 7/18/19.

I recently got new tires on my 17' Z06. I made the switch from the Super Sport tires to Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4. Much better traction and grips so much better with more tread, and no more tire skipping. I had this debate whether or not to keep the same tires or make the switch. I am so glad I did!

I run the Michelin Pilot AS3+'s on my Mustang. Track it quite often. (4 to 5 times a year) and drive the.... poop out of it on the street. Just put the 2nd set on 2 weeks ago. So, with that being said I'm a huge fan. First set I got 20,000 miles out of the rears and the fronts that I pulled off are maybe 1/2 worn. Living in Northern Wisconsin all seasons are a must and in my opinion there is only one brand to go with.

Rick - I get the tire skipping on my Stingray no matter the temperature. Just learned to not turn very sharp in a parking lot. I got over 26k miles out of the original tires so I am ready for new ones.

Replaced the Goodyear Eagles that were OEM equipment on my C6 coupe with Michelin Pilot A/S Plus run flats a couple of years ago. Went to the A/S due to the higher wear rating, but found that the ride was smoother and the handling was better when the weather wasn’t perfect. The wear was actually better than I expected. I’m sold on all seasons and will put another set on when I wear these out, which may not be for a while.

I recently changed my 2012 Grand Sport original chrome wheels to 2019 GS satin black cup 19/20 wheels and Michelin AS3 runflat tires. I absolutely love them. A better ride and lower road noise was noticed immediately and my car only has 10,500 miles. Best decision I've made since owning the car.

The Contis are a great choice. I almost went with those but opted for the AS3 since I wanted to stick with run flats even though run flats are a bit of a compromise weight/handling wise. I didn't want to take the chance of ending up on the side of the road somewhere waiting on a flatbed or relying on a can of fix-a-flat.

@@oneslackr yes...I considered the conti. However, I opted as u did regarding the run flat with the AS3+. Alittle disappointed with the traction when i get on it...violent scary horsepower...but I will always run a run flat as u do. Note...I drive it like it was built to be driven!🙂

Rick I have a '09 z06. I daily drive it and put the all seasons on it. They are great. I even ran the Tail of the Dragon hard with them and they never let go. I can't recommend them enough

I'm happy with my AS3s. I switched out my Michelin Sport Cup 2s for a set of these back in November on my Z06. I only had 1,300 miles on the Sport Cups. I sold them within an hour of listing them for sale on the Corvette Forum.

Thanks Rick, I am experiencing all the things you said about the standard Z06 tire. The temperature is my main issue, as in Iowa we don't have a lot of warm months. I will add the tires along with some red stripe wheels.

Well it happened!! Purchased a 2014 Z51 from a. club member with 14,000 miles and always garaged in a heated garage here inn Colorado. So, after getting the tires checked out by a national tire dealer and a Corvette / Chevrolet dealer, they both said the tires are good for 7 or 8 thousand more miles. Today, 3 months later in August, I was on my way to a All Corvette Show. On the way I hit a famous Denver Pot Hole! In about 10 miles I saw. the air PSI slowly on he dash drop to zero. DECISION: continue or return 38 miles one. Being Sunday and after attempting to put air in the tire which was blown out at the rim, I headed home at 50MPH. Run Flats do work although the last 8 miles I began to gear a chatter up front. Since purchase, I did not like the original tires. They were noisy, ran hard and chattered. After reading the below comment, I am headed tomorrow to order the All Season AS 3s. I am hoping for an improvement. Thanks Rick.

I guess I am different. When I drive my Corvette. I drive the crap out of it. The more it wiggles in the rain the more fun I am having. The more grip I have in the dry, the happier I am. The PSS that are on it are very good. Not as sticky as the Cup 2's though. If Rick took a ride with me, It would be like the Jeff Gordon Pepsi One commercial in the Camero. LMAO.

I'll replace the PSS with the AS3 once they "wear out". Drove up to Ohio two weekends ago, in the rain part way up and most of the way home with no issues on the PSS tires. As with any tire just slow down a bit in the rain. BTW tell the Ohio DOT folks they don't need to cut wide ruts in the lanes of I 75 around Cinncinnati. Any tire would be be pushed-pulled around driving thru there.

I have a set of the AS3 tires and a set of Cup 2s for my GS The AS3 tires make a world of difference. I enjoy the AS3 for driving around town. I use the Cup 2s for track days.

Chevrolet,,,, rather than forcing the customer (remember us) to take something we don't want and at our expense , give us the option to GET THE TIRES WE WANT. I have an alcohol funny car that I track, I don't track my vettes so for the small amount of people that do let them and everyone else decide what's best for us rather than you.

Not that weather is a bad thing here in AZ but looking to go this direction once my Stingray and GS C7's are ready. Thank you much as always for the insight. The same as listed on the door frame. For me it's 30 psi all around unless I'm continuously driving at extremely high speeds, then it gets increased to 38 psi (16 Stingray).

Rick, enjoyed this vlog alot, the pilot tires on my z51 are approaching 23000 miles. The next tires I get will be the all season ones. I drive my car as much as I can, just made an 1150 mile round trip from my hometown to Houston. I would have enjoyed the softer ride of the all season tires especially since I had to drive through the rain. What is the model of those tires again for my stingray? AS3 take care Rick😎!

Love the tires...its the wheels that have no shelf life. 3 out of 4 are cracked. I currently own 3 corvettes, 2-C6's which I never had a problem with and a 17 Grand Sport Z07 which will spend the Memorial Day weekend in the shop. That's alright Tadge, just continue to tell the world how great the C8 is going to be. It would be great if somebody at the unveil asked " How about all those C7 owners who got screwed because you and your brass deny you have a defective wheel." That would be great. The AS3+ is a great tire, 1500 miles on them so far and now in a holding pattern. What's wrong with the wheels you ask Tadge. Go on and pose with the c8, us loyal customers will take one in the ass for the team.

I bought a 2019 Stingray and I get the tire chatter thing when I back out of the driveway in the morning. It stops once the tires warm up. But it is seriously annoying. Next set will be all season Michelin’s.

I agree... however... guys PLEASE drive your cars hard SOMEtimes. The stock Michelins are amazing! You just have to DRIVE the car fully, it's not a Cadillac! Like a mighty🦁 in a dog cage, man. I've driven a 2019 Stingray that is upgraded to the MICHELIN all season tires and there really is an improvement in the overall ride quality for everyday driving. I sure would like to win this set.

I put these on my C6 a few weeks ago. My only regret is I didn’t do it years ago. Awesome tires, better ride , quieter, highly recommended.

Informative video. I’ve had SS, Cup2 and the AS on my ‘17 GS with mag-ride update. By far the car is much more “comfortable “ to ride in with the AS. I have tracked in down pouring rain with the AS tires at Road America and also in sub-freezing temps at NJMP for a Nov track day. For my level of skill they performed very well! For dry track days on stock wheels I don’t think the Cup2s can be beat, well done Michelin! One thing I disagree about GM’s (Tadge) statement you quoted about selling only with SS or Cup2s because of the track performance nature of the vehicle...if that’s true, why wasn’t it until the ‘19 model year that they sold the cars with DOT3 (not track approved) brake fluid as opposed to DOT4??

I might try those A/S tires...:-) I have a 2013 Grand Sport with those run flats and I've driven across the U.S. and those are the worse tires I've ever had. I miss the F-1's I had on my 1995...:-(
