Gone are the days of condensed chicken noodle soup and crackers if you REALLY want to fight an illness at its source. Hit with food that helps your body fight--not keep it down.
Your body will thrive on a nutrient dense diet free from some of the classic foods we usually turn to when we're sick.

I enjoy your videos of your home life and hope you are doing well. Your Bread for Beginners is the best bread recipe I have come across for consistently making a good loaf of bread. Thanks again.

Hello from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada!!! I love your videos!!! I made my own meat/bone broth and canned it. Is it better to freeze it as you mentioned you freeze yours? Thank you! Take care 😊
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
Hey Lisa, yeah a lot of people can theirs but my practitioners taught me that boiling it destroys some of its nutrition and canning it will certainly cause it to boil during the process. We drink meat stock (not bone broth because it has too many glutamates) daily and we go through it so fast that I'd be canning all the time. So for us, freezing is better.

Great video, and timely with sicknesses beginning to pop up. I enjoy all your healing videos! You mentioned you drink broth every day. I wondered do you ever get tired of eating For health or bored of your options?
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
Oh for sure. I get sick of cooking in general sometimes. But in the case of the broth, it's really no different for me than a habit of taking a medicine every day. I don't think much about what enjoyment I get from it or the flavor. It's just down the hatch and on with my day if that makes sense. My other meals I do try to enjoy.

I found Body Armor Lyte to help me stay hydrated and keep my potassium levels high so my legs wouldn't cramp. Thoughts?
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
If I HAD to choose, the Lyte is better than some other options. I still don't love the flavorings in some of those nor the citric acid or ascorbic acid but they are a tad better than Gatorade. A tad. 😂

I tried the relyte also. I kind of liked it but it was just too salty to drink a lot of it at one time. And then I had to wonder if that much salt was good for me.
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
One thing to remember is that all salt is not the same. Celtic sea salt and salts like Redmond's that have 80+ minerals in them don't harm the body like table salt does. And of course, these drinks aren't intended to be used in every glass of water we drink every single day. Then it would for sure be hard on us. But for those times when we need it, it's fine. Relyte will kick a dehydration headache fast. It just won't be tasty while you do it. 🤣

What are your thoughts on kachava?
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
Well I've seen it and thought it sounded interesting but I just always go back to the fact that I can either spend my money on expensive supplements/drinks or I can spend it on food itself. So I usually lean toward food. There are so, so many products out there and most aren't bad, but they aren't the miracle people hope they will be.

I see that you have recipes for bread pasta and even desserts, are these okay if made from scratch?
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
Lol not if health is your goal. There's a video here on the channel (pinned at the top) all about my history as a southern cook who turned my health around with better food. The junk recipes are here and I decided to leave them because they are part of my story. Certainly made from scratch food is always better than store bought but if feeling better is the focus, many of my old recipes don't fit that bill.

@@FeastandFarmCooks It figures 🤣 That AIP seems like all you are supposed to consume is greens...no rice, no beans, no cheese, no dairy,for the love of God no tomatoes!!🤦🏼‍♀️
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
No girl. Now listen--I got kicked out the AIP program because I grieved the food. Like hated it so so much. There's so much freaking coconut I could die! Instead, I do a diet that focuses on REGULAR but whole foods. Steak and a baked potato. Burgers and fries. Fajitas. You know what I mean...I follow a paleo-ish diet with the addition of raw and cultured dairy, sprouted nuts and seeds (no grains though) and whole foods. It's the most refreshing and wonderful diet. You can live on it! AIP can kiss my grits.

@@FeastandFarmCooks what do you use for bread?
@FeastandFarmCooks
@FeastandFarmCooks Год назад
No bread really. I just learned to eat most things without bread. Bread makes me feel so so bad--even almond flour bread is too heavy for me. I do LOVE to bake it and I love to bake sourdough for my family but I just don't eat it. I will occasionally use a Siete almond flour tortilla here and there.
