What To Wear In Paris In September 2022
Today is a special day! It's been almost 3 years since my very first trip to Paris and since my set of viral videos on the subject of what women are wearing in Paris and what not to wear in Paris. I never expected to see those videos go viral. And I'm so glad they did. Even though I studied Parisian street style, when I arrived in Paris I was shocked! So after years of those videos being out there, I feel like I have to finally revisit this subject and spill the tea.
Parisian style is not what I thought. So in this video, I'll be sharing what I got right and what I got wrong. Plus, I'll be sharing what to pack for Paris in September 2022.

I really like your honesty in this video. I’m Spanish, live in England but have travelled to France (including Paris), Italy and other European countries. In my experience, most Europeans who live in cities have a similar style but at the same time you can tell where they’re from. When I’m in London, I can tell who is Spanish, Italian etc by the clothes they wear. I think that maybe in the States people have a lot of misconceptions about what Parisian women wear and that they’re the ones that are the fashion leaders. Like I’ve said, in most European cities women wear similar clothes, understated, simple but elegant. I love your style, Bree, but when travelling is often difficult to get the clothing right especially when travelling from such a long way away. However, this video is very helpful and informative 😊

Oh I loved this video. I was there in April and agree 100% with everything here. I wore jeans every day with my Vejas and felt great. My mistake was that I didn’t bring warm enough clothes. I would probably wear monochromatic looks in navy or black with lightweight layers. Our two trips to Paris were in March and it was cold when walking around outside, but very warm when we would get on the train and go into museums. Both times I wore thick-soled loafers or ankle boots and was very happy to have coverage on my feet! I am sure you looked lovely in your outfits! I try not to stand out too much when traveling, but over the years I have found that my business casual looks work for city travel as well.

I really appreciate your honesty and post-trip analysis. We learn a lot from situations when we missed the mark, not just from getting everything exactly right. I especially like post-travel analyses, to see what women actually used during their trips, and what they didn’t, and why. A lot of posted images and videos focus on the most extreme outfits, which large cities always have, not the mainstream. I like to look at climate data for travel locations, not just the forecasted weather. The monthly average high and low temperatures and precipitation data are really helpful. I’m starting to add a few degrees to these averages to account for the recent global warming trend, especially if the averages given are for long periods of time, like 100 years. There aren’t many places, if any, in the temperate zones where the climate has cooled in the last 20-30 years.

Some really nice outfits here though I don’t know if I’d call it a French look. I’m not French and have been wearing things like that for years. Reminds me of clothes I used to get at the Gap/Banana Republic in the 90s and, when I got lucky, thrift stores. There’s also a bit of updated 70s style in these outfits. Thanks for the video. I love seeing how others put their looks together.

Looks to me like women in Paris wear what fashionable, understated women wear everywhere, including in the states. They wear what is flattering on them, and don’t overdo it. The Spanish and Italians are a little flashier, and wear more jewelry and bright colors, I think. In Germany, I don’t even remember what people were wearing, not a lot of color for sure. Of course, it was winter and very cold at the time, so….But I do remember girls and women wore very little makeup. I’ve never been to France, but would love to go!

I think you’re right! I would say that what women are wearing in Paris ranges from really flashy and edgy to really sophisticated and classic to very casual and understated. I think for me my style tastes tend to be more understated. I hope you get to go to France someday soon!

Brand new to your channel and I really love this video. I am in my 70s, look younger and have always loved fashion! We are going to Paris in late October and wondered if I need to bring more layers or maybe just a little heavier jacket. Also, I plan on wearing fashionable sneakers, and I recently purchased a pair of brown, lug sole leather, but water resistant, Chelsea boots, which are extremely comfortable. What do you think of that type of footwear for both casual and evening with a long knitted skirt? I'm also thinking of bringing one pair of cream colored ankle booties with a chunky lower heel. I am only bringing a carry-on and a duffel bag, so I have to be fairly selective in what I choose to pack🥰

Hi. We are going to Paris in late October and are older too. We used to go at least once a year before the pandemic. I am bring similar items. I find that on days when you are doing the Metro & museums versus just walking, the thought you put into layering and shoes will be different of course. Public trans can get quite warm😅

Sneakers and tailoring is typical Swedish style. Stockholm-style. Many of the cool street brands are also swedish brands such as: & other stories, Cos, Arket, Acne, Toteme etc. I hope you get to Paris soon. I lived there a while when I was young. It is a wonderful city!

The quintessential French style is long gone, that is something from the 40s-60s. French style is really now a lot of creativity and fast fashion. Very much like the rest of the large cities. Hope Yl get to go to Paris again soon! In the winter airfare is the lowest! I recall in one shop in Paris every sales gal was totally unique in her style, very individual! One was blonde classic dresser, another short red hair punk, another bohemian brunette lace blouse, finding our style is so key, took me 50 years of experimenting🙃💜👍

I just got back from Paris and it was cool. Pack a jacket, scarf and umbrella. White sneakers match with everything. I overpacked…big mistake. The generations are different and wear what they want. You’re speaking of the tourists.

I so appreciate and relate to this video! I remember visiting Rome a few years ago and experiencing a similar shock. After spending an inordinate amount of time researching what to wear, upon my arrival, I came to find that my perception of Italian style was largely off. Much like your experience in Paris, I feel like in Rome, there is a certain innate effortlessness to the street style that is hard to replicate as an American.

My husband is French, but we live abroad, sometimes he says that I wear too many colours, he says that there is a rule of 3 colours in 1 outfit. Anyhow I really don't care :) In my opinion French women dress very safe and a bit boring, Swedish they have much better style, they love dresses and they mix perfect masculine with feminine. Even street in Londons are much more interesting. French takes the natural look to a different level - bare nails, grey hair...one of the most weird experience was many year ago when I went for the fist time to Paris and basically everyone was looking at me because I was wearing a colourful printed dress :) my sister in law told me that they don't wear such a clothes in Paris :)))) and the big prints and colours are reserved for African people, how rude!

This is a great video! Heading to Europe mid sept with a visit in the balkans, Paris and then the alps. I’ve been struggling the pack for essentially 3 climates, this is helpful to know it’s not too cool in Paris. 🤍 I’m also trying to keep in mind that comfort may overrule fashion in some circumstances.
