Niche for membership is a weird choice. Once you get your first holozon box you really have no downside at that point. It doesn't eat your hp or crit or haste or whatever stat besides coins, which are plentiful. I cannot think of a scenario where you run out of money after your first holozon box. Unless you get like hundreds of anvils and keep upgrading one weapon to a high level but that's just silly.

Tier list may or may not be accurate depending on which playstyle (standard/specless) and/or game mode (standard [stage/endless/timed]/hardcore) the player plays with/in (e.g. injection-type asacoco becomes a No Downside item in hardcore, and [non-/special] idol costume becomes useless in specless). Some of the Build/Niche items can arguably be interchanged depending on perspective. I also have some unnecessary (personally-biased) nitpicks with some of the items in the Middle and No Downside tiers, but other than that, *_this may be as comprehensive as it gets_* for any holocure tier list concerning items.

90% of the time unless character specific traits, Super Item and money farming, I usually run with Weapon: Dragon Fire, Jingusukan, Bone Bros, BL Fudoshi, Holo Bomb Item: Holomember, Pikipikiman, Bandage, Sturdy Glasses, Researcher's Coat, and Credit Card. Early item in order should be Sturdy Glasses, Credit Card, and Researche's Coat. Also, Uber Sheep as well because it was one of Jingusukan component. Holomember is literally no downside since even without any money-specific item or stamp, I still got 10K by the end of the run and it was among my first early item as well.

i would disagree, halu is the best item in the game in my opinion because its increase the number of enemy which also increase the number of exp, for some character skill interaction/proct, and drop rate. i think every endless run should run halu+glass because its make getting cap easier and can handle yagoo round better

Agree to disagree! I refer back to my placement of Halu being consistent with how I defined my tiers at 1:02 - it's a niche item for predominantly being taken by money farm characters and with certain characters for leaderboarding. Thanks for watching!

The problem with a character that beneficts for having less pick up is that the optimal way to use it will include that every time you are going to use it you have to go to the shop and refund the pick up levels and some people will find that tedious or will forget about it.

@@Petrisha Knightly milk also contains knockback, and depending on how you view it, knockback can be considered a downside in some cases. In beneficial cases it keeps fans away from you keeping you safe and placing them in the range of more ranged attacks, but in drawback cases knocking fans back prevents you from curing them especially with close ranged attacks/effects. In an especially bad case you'd be knocking certain bosses away that it takes quite a while to defeat them/you're throwing them back deep into the crowd.

There is an interesting hidden effect that the Credit Card has. When you pick it up or upgrade it (either through anvil or level up), it will cause a free extra anvil to drop within 2 to 4 mins at Lv1 and 1 to 2mins at max level. So picking up a credit card and leveling it to max will give 5 free anvils, and this is on top of the already doubled anvil rate. So the anvil basically pays for itself. Maxing it takes 5 levels ups or 1 level up and 4 upgrades, but it refunds 5 upgrades over time guranteed. In my opinion this hidden detail makes the anvil an easy no downside item that you always want to pick up if you see it in the early stages of the run. It has especially good synergy with halu or blacksmith's gear, both of which will give a massive amount of anvils. It's very good in endless mode too if you want to upgrade weapons to very high levels beyond max.

I generally think of the credit card as an xp item, and a really good one at that. The only downside is needing to level it 4 times, but you can do that with anvils so....

This was a very fun tier list video. Interesting that you didn't use a standard S - F style tier list, but I did like it. Here is my tier list and I might explain some of it later. Nice list! I felt the need to suppress my bias for breastplate myself, it's such a nice item. I try to avoid doing S - F tier lists unless I'm trying to just outright imply certain choices are bad; usually it's easier to find a common thread to judge everything in the list on, the list becomes more constructive (and frankly, less clickbaity)! Much more substance than just "I never pick Uber Sheep or Credit Card so they're F-tier" which simply isn't true. Thanks for watching!

There is a super item that has a downside, the super sake, it's a really little downside but it has one.

Extremely little, but you're right! If I were tiering every individual super item it'd be the only one not in No Downside, but y'know, law of averages and all that

Rather nice to see! I think for Super items, the only thing you could maybe consider a downside might be the Super Sake, as it makes your aiming slightly unstable. As well as Kiara and Ollie cheating death from their kit, Subaru can cheat death as well, via her Optimism, I think.

Really entertaining list! I like your way of structuring the tiers, never really seen that before. Here are a few item placements i disagree with though: Credit card Should go in no downsides, it has a hidden effect similar to its super version, where it guarantees an anvil drop in between every 1 to 2 minutes, which is AT MINIMUM 10/15 free anvils in a 20/30 minute game ON TOP of all of its other effects Membership Should also be in no downsides, doing the math even if you were to grab this at the start the absolute maximum amount of coins you can lose in a 30 minute game is 5400, and usually by that point you have well over 10k coins so even after the 30 minute mark it's just a free attack and defense boost Knightly milk, Limiter, Researcher's coat To me they're the same type of item as the super chatto time is for you in the list, as there are some situations where getting one of these adds so little to your build that it's basically a dead slot (ESPECIALLY Limiter). In the case of the coat though, it becomes a must only if you're planning to go past 30 minutes, if you're doing stage mode instead glasses are more than enough as they give you more benefit in the early game than in the late game Outside of these though, i think you did a pretty good job of categorizing the items, and it's pretty cool how a higher placement doesn't necessarely mean that an item is stronger but more that it benefits you in more situations

For the purposes of this tier list, the explanation of a no-downsides item (3:50) explains away credit card pretty deftly! A 60-120 second cooldown running beside a %chance manipulation really only adds a disqualifying factor for the top when there already was one, adding measurable downtime to an effect where the downtime results in 0 output. Membership I could reconsider and personally up it to middle of the pack as a buff that generically benefits all characters evenly, yep! There's nothing really strategic about picking a guaranteed flat buff with money that's impossible to reach 0 by those calculations, and since it's just a flat floating buff I can see an argument for pulling it out of being a niche item. For the philosophy of this list though, all downsides are equal and so red text items are essentially disqualified from the top. Knightly Milk, Limiter and Researcher's Coat really are just all upside though; there is no downside currently in the game for having more pickup range, a larger weapon, or automatic exp gain and those benefits are a constant floating effect! I recently had a Mel run that happened to get Super Limiter, and I noticed that the extended pickup range took away the extra usages of her meals as baits and remote damage dealer, exchanging them into healings right away instead. But as you’ve mentioned on Lab Coat’s matter, the benefit is still positive, just… less of it, so I don’t have any objection to your ranking. I just wanna say that there IS a particular case where it benefits less by increasing pickup range, that’s all.

Membership is for me, the best item in the game. If you don't need money, they it's just a better version gorilla paw and breastplate. I have 8 million coins right now and I have everything maxed out. So whenever I see membership, I take it.

I disagree rating Super items as one thing, while *most* are always giving you value no matter what, the Super Idol costume is highly character dependant, it's useless on some characters; and the unstable aim on Sake can be a detriment. I also don't really understand having 'No Downside' as the top tier, an item can have no technical downside but still not be very good; like I would never-ever pick up Limiter but yeah I guess it has 'No Downside'? I'd suggest re-considering this, like considering the actual item slot it takes up as part of the items value in cases like that, cos taking Limiter is a huge opportunity cost which could be filled with something much higher value, so the 'Downside' is that it's taking up a finite Item Slot. I also disagree a bit about Study Glasses and Reasreacher Coat, they drop-off in value quickly if you don't get it in the first 10 minutes.

Give a second listen around 3:47; No Downsides items are not best items and Crutch Items are not worst items. If you skipped to the end just to see the results for S-tiers and F-tiers then you've definitely read the tier list wrong and are confused! Thanks for watching!

Nice tier list~ As for my two cents: Some players don’t take Halu for the money boost; they take it for the extra kills = extra EXP ‘boost’ - which is usually coupled with a build that dishes out as much DPS as practically possible, usually 1 super collab, 3 collabs, and an extra weapon, all double enchanted. Usually these are run with early credit card and early blacksmith gear, if possible., with the main goal being to obtain one collab before the 10 minute mark, and 1 super + 3 collab + 1 extra weapon before minute 20 alongside more anvil upgrades or enchantment adjustments. Which brings me to the second aspect that is overlooked a lot when rating items individually versus rating items for the sake of either planned or real-time build optimization while keeping _item slot limitations_ in mind. As of 0.6 and with the addition of super collab mechanics, technically a player has 6+1 item slots available for use , but that’s about it. The key point here is that whenever a player picks any generic item, it takes up a slot that would otherwise have been better suited for a strategic build item. Taking the aforementioned build as an example, one has Credit card, blacksmith gear and nurse horns as primary items, body pillow and either halu, study glasses, knightly milk and/or some other beneficial item and has sake > Snow Queen as their super of choice as their planned build. They have to keep a slot out of three optionals open until they get sake and get the super collab done before getting the last item for the build, and because RNG is RNG, more often than not, they key items they need don’t drop until 1-3 minutes before minute 20, and if they either accidentally pick or have no choice but to pick an item (after running out of eliminates and rerolls), their build plan is pretty much toast. (The odds of this are low because of stat ups, burger and holocoin choice options, but it can happen.) The run is still playable if they so choose, but they have to deal with the extra unplanned item that now occupies a slot, and have no way of removing or swapping it out for another one (as of 0.6). And it gets worse when that happens while they don’t have Sake yet - that’s a -1 slot they could have obtained but did not. This issue could be mitigated by adding another holocoin shop purchaseable option of _equipped_ weapon/item removal, which can be either a limited to 1, 5 or just go for 10 purchaseable uses which allows a player to remove an equipped item, weapon or even collab, which makes the items, weapons and the two weapons that made the collab available again (or not) so as to allow for rectifying a mistaken choice pick.

You are correct - it's just different interpretations of where to set the lines regarding the micro and macro of the game itself when one sits down for a tier list! In a minmaxer sense, you are absolutely right regarding the RNG in tandem with the fact that your build has two sorts of 'phases' now as of 0.6: pre- and post-super collab. Would love to see a top player's approach to their own tier list; more specifically, I'd love to just see more people in general making HoloCure content so there's all these different flavours of tier lists in video form. How could you possibly be hesitant about the headphones but not Sake? They are both % based, but while only some characters really benefit proper from critting, getting hit less is super useful for anyone. Add to that, there are plenty of other ways of getting crit, but the dodge from the headphones is something you can't really have without them. If anything, I'd debate between calling it a crutch or build item as it provides highly impactful survivability to characters that otherwise don't have any, but it also help boost characters whose whole builds centers around it. But definitely not middle of the pack. Headphones and Milk are probably the only two items i'll pick on every build on every character the instant they pop up, if they pop up. Just because they are never *not* good, even if other things might be "better" for whatever character or build i'm doing at the time. I'll even skip out on build defining items if its the last slot and one of these two show up first. Also there technically are characters that has antisynergy with the milk. Certain characters that drop items that they may want to pick up at certain times for burst purposes (at least one of the food based ones do this, can't remember which), rather than just the moment they spawn, has this antisynergy with Pickup Range. Its still worth it thanks to the other benefit of the size increase, but characters where there is some measure of downside *do* exist! And on Membership, the downside basically doesn't exist after the first boss drop. Moment you get your first one of those, you get enough coins to last you the rest of the run, so really its just that it isn't amazing in the super earlygame.

What a strange way to do a tier list. Focusing entirely on semantical category classification while ignoring the MAGNITUDE inside said classification renders it utterly lacking in utility apart from literally a bare taxonomy. To illustrate, if hypothetically one item gives +1 ATK with no downsides, and another item gives +100 to all stats but every 60 seconds you take 1 HP damage, your tier list either says NOTHING about how one item is clearly always better than the other given the magnitude of its effects apart from implying that the objectively inferior +1 ATK item should be preferred. Really sorta at a loss trying to figure out what the point of this is. It's not comedic, and it's not useful soooooo wut are we doin here?
