Today I want to look ahead and ask the question ‘What do we want from the Zelda franchise in 2024?’. But I couldn’t do this alone, so I called upon my fellow Zelda creators to answer that very question, plus a whole bunch more questions about our hopes and dreams for The Legend of Zelda in 2024.

The most crazy thing that Nintendo could (but admittedly will never) do to surprise us is make one big long game that covers the entire timeline(s) and melds them into one (extremely long) game that allows us to play through the entire history of Hyrule. They could even name it that... I can see it now, Zelda: The History of Hyrule.

I would love to see Nintendo finally give in, take notice of the OoT in unreal engine 5 project and *_TRUELY_* remaster Ocarina of Time. Also, I know it is unpopular but I would love to see what A Link to the Past remake in the 3D style of BoTW and TotK would look like as it was the first Zelda game I ever played. Man, the puzzles and dungeons and bosses and story and basically everything about that game... the nostalgia.

Nice video! Best thing for Zelda would be a bit more "in-between" games. I know Nintendo's super careful not to overexpose some of their most important stuff, but come on, they starve us a bit too much. There's just so many different things they could do with Zelda. As mentioned in the video, 2D and 3D remakes, spin-offs and hopefully even new 2D and non-mainline 3D games. Perhaps they could be more linear while mainline games are more open. Wildest thing would be new 3D non-mainline game! (Personally I dream of a steam punk toon link game with airships and trains etc). One thing everyone missed in the video is the possibility of a new multiplayer Zelda, the Switch would be kinda perfect for it with the joy-cons and all. I think Triforce Heroes came out at the end of the 3DS. It got a bit of a bad rap, but I think most people didn't play it multiplayer, because that way it's a lot of fun. Just got to love the super silly fashion story too lol! Paper Zelda: yesss! Realistic Zelda: noooo! not without "toggle toon link graphics" in the settings! 😁😉 I agree with you that an Ocarina of Time remake would be perfect as a first Zelda game early on for their next gen system. Let's see what they do because any 2D Zelda is overdue too, and so are the WW and TP remakes.

Whoever said FromSoft with a soulsborne take on Zelda is what I’ve been of for the past couple weeks. BotW/TotK was a reimagining of the original LoZ. They could do another with Adventures of Link. A dark Hyrule with plenty of dungeons. That sounds like a perfect atmosphere for FromSoft

How cool would a Zelda 1 remake be, holding true to original design, but in BotW/TotK engine? Would be a real challenge to try and make the dungeon design and the boss/enemy movements and patterns.

One Nintendo series with a timeline, which makes sense has been Metroid, the games literally reference it's past events, With Zelda it's close to non-existent, The Wind Waker, brings up Ocarina of Time, The phantom hour glass, brings up The Wind Waker, and The Spirit Tracks, refences when the pirates and Link, went to the new world, The Other games don't really being up past events.

Twilight Princess did it perfectly in regards to elaborate combat so i could see the next Zelda taking cues from TP to give players a more challenging combat system.

I admit, learning or (even better) creating combo attacks with unique appearance is quite appealing. It would be like developing your own combat techniques or styles. Basically, the more customization you can have in a game the more you will enjoy it, in my experience.

i wish i had commented about my expectation of age of calamity getting dlc based on tears of the kingdom, because the original hyrule warriors got dlc for years, and the level cap in aoc is still at 100 and not 255 lIke the original got upgraded to later

There's absolutely no chance we'll see anything like a teaser, let alone a trailer, regarding the Zelda movie. That thing is years and years away, they're in the same beginning stages, I'd be amazed if they'd have even the beginnings of a script yet, let alone started thinking about casting. Imo a remake seems most likely, one of the older 2D games most likely.

@@MartKart8I didn't assume you had played it, I just assumed that you knew about it or had heard about it. I know all about the Souls games, Bloodborne and Elden Ring being super hard despite having never played a single one of them. It is a pretty well known fact among gamers, both among those who have and have not played Skyrim, that it has been re-released and re-sold around a dozen times in some form or another. It's well past the meme stage at this point. I am surprised you haven't encountered something somewhere making mention of how many times it has been re-released.

@@javiervasquez625I'm an artist myself, so I know how to recognize an AI image like this. Unlike you, I looked at the image very carefully and analyzed it. The crest is a blurry mess, Zelda's arm bands look nothing like the real one, same with the chest area of the outfit, her hair braids are also a mess and there's a weird jewel thing on her forehead? That's not even part of her design. Link's arm bands are also wrong. If this really was a cute fanart (not fanfic btw) then why didn't they credit the artist on the description or comments huh?.

@@shay3878 Often cloth patterns, edges, eyes and hands get weird. Here their hands are mostly out of frame yet Zelda's fingers make no sense...

Otherwise i have no reason to believe someone who "says they're a professional artist" without confirmation from whoever created and uploaded said image in the first place. Saying it's AI generated and prooving it are 2 seperate things.

@@javiervasquez625 Whatever dude, I don't have to prove anything, whether the channel confirmed or not if it's AI doesn't matter because I already explained to you, in detail, why it is AI. If you look at the image carefully, you'll see I was right and you were wrong, but I guess your pride wouldn't let you do that. If you want to insist in defending an ugly image that's CLEARLY AI generated, go ahead. I'm not gonna waste more of my time with you, have a nice day. (Also, don't quote me incorrectly on purpose, I didn't use the word "professional" and I don't think I'm above anyone. Please be kinder to real artists in the future)

Putting $60 in context: it isn't expensive if you get to keep the game and play it forever. Take good care of the game and console and generally you don't have to shell out money again. It's subscription games that kill the wallet and the gaming industry as a whole.

Just curious, how much would a thumbnail cost? How much would a real artist charge for something like that? I know a few who sell unanimated splash screens for websites for $50 which is a bit pricy considering it is just one image. Come to think of it, maybe that's why they don't have a steady line of work in that occupation...
