In 1987, Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Ratzinger commissioned Cardinal Edouard Gagnon to go to Econe and speak with Archbishop Lefebvre. The objective: to convince Lefebvre NOT to consecrate any new bishops. Cardinal Gagnon told a very close priest-friend of his that, although he fulfilled the request of JPII and Ratzinger, he perfectly understood Archbishop Lefebvre’s MISTRUST of the Vatican (I.e., the men behind the Pope.) (Not only did Cardinal Gagnon understand the Archbishop’s mistrust of the Vatican, Gagnon agreed that Lefebvre was wise to mistrust the Vatican! Gagnon told this priest that every seminary in the world should be modeled after Econe! When Lefebvre went ahead and consecrated four new bishops, Gagnon confided in his priest-friend that the Archbishop had acted correctly and heroically and in favor of Christ’s Church.

Just to straight up the things. Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated 4 bishops because he knew by the way Rome was procrastinating the desicion to consecrate 1 bishop. So Archbishop decided to consecrate 4. From the beginning the idea was 1. But they wanted to do the same as they have done with FSSP. They promise 1 bishop and they never got it

I read a book several years ago that said that Lefevre and a couple of other seminarians visited Padre Pio. And he told them to always be obedient to their superiors ,they said yes, Padre Pio. No always be obedient to your superiors,,,,, if that's true,the rest is histroy.

Part of the problem is that instead of laying low until the Storm passes, behaving like the saints, too many imprudent traditionalists vocally and widely attacked the Pope, not by submitting calm and constructive criticism in the light of Tradition but in the most intemperate and provocative ways. This begged for Progressivist reaction which tragically is exactly what we got. May God reverse these measures in time.

Hi, in my 47 years my Greatest Treasure is the Discovery and Love of for the TLM over the past 3 years. I now attend TLM exclusively, this wasn't the case before Covid so for that I am grateful. Thanks Godless Globalists! This Attack on the Faith of our Fathers came out on Our Lady of Mount Carmel...Telling me to Renew Devotion to the Brown Scapular. Thanks Pope Francis! I disagree. Just follow Christ, and believe in the Nicene Creed, go to Mass , pray, and follow the Ecumenical councils, and love your neighbour. "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off". If tradition causes you to sin cut it off, as Peter did when Paul said that recent Christian converts from paganism should not follow all the Jewish. The first mass was in Aramaic, and Greek was the main language for early Christians. Listen to the Pope and be catholic. Simple. Anything else is from the devil, and he likes to deceive and cause divisions and doubts.

And you participate in a mass where a priest gives fidelity to a heretic. You cant be for something and against it at the same time. Why would you not want to surround yourself with people who believe the truth as you see it? We’re obligated by our faith to reject heresy. This is separation of the chaff and the wheat my friends. Not a time to be comfortable if your wanna be a saint.

The FSSP and the Institute have grown to such a degree that there would be very complicated legal questions of property ownership involved. I trust it doesn’t come to that, but worst case scenario I would hope the two groups would become independent. If Francis wants a war, it must be waged on both sides. The Vatican cannot be allowed to destroy the Catholic Faith. (Oh how wise Msgr. Lefevbre was at the last minute to refuse signing that document with Rome.)

As long as they hold title to the real estate wherever they work, they’re safe. SSPX own title or leases to their chapels. I presume FSSP owns there seminaries, but since they’ve worked for the Bishops, the dioceses might still own their parishes. Monasteries always own their own properties.

@@CatholicTraditional I am a parishioner at an ICKSP apostate and they don’t own their church buildings, unfortunately. And though they would not want to celebrate the NOM I know the Canons would if push came to shove that it meant to keep their community, sadly. I think they’d try to fight it with Canon lawyers prudently but at the end would submit humbly in the name of “obedience” because that’s just who they are. I am praying it doesn’t come to this. 🥺

The FSSP was created almost 20 years AFTER the SSPX...the FSSP and ICKSP will fold due to "obedience" even though St. Pope Pius V Quo Primum binds all priests to celebrate the Mass forever. Remember Pope John Paul II kissed the Koran, received public curses by shaman, witch dotcors, and removed the Eucharist from the tabernacle at Assisi so an idol of Buddha could be placed on top of it and then incensed...he also created the FSSP to take souls away from the SSPX and Francis is just the rotten fruit of the Vatican II pontificates. Bella Dodd way of influence.. I've had Covid March 27 2020. It took me 12days before the fever broke. I prayed and hoped to live for confession (not a doctor). 17th Jan / near 10months after.. 12am till 3am after a course of steroids I eventually got rid of the mucus in my lungs

Well said. That's why it's very hard for the SSPX to see the FSSP with good eyes, because they fled in the most important moment. Both comunities have deep sorrows for each other, I don't see this "unite the clans" thing working in the near future. Also because the FSSP is formally compromised with the conciliar errors and recognize the legitimacy of that bastard new rite, though I know many individual priests in these comunities might indeed hold the position of Abp. Lefebvre.

"I hope they fight for their rights"? What rights? The living pontiff has total and unambiguous authority to define and regulate Cahtolic worship in any way he deems fit. The FSSP and all other TLM groups have no special rights or legitimacy beyond which Francis allows them. Any Trad who says otherwise doesn't understand the fundamentals of what Vatican I and II say about a living Pope's authority.

We're living in Arian Heresy 2.0. Remember, Arianism took over 95% of the church for 75 years, but they lost in the end because the devotion of the truly faithful always outlasts rootless heresies. That said, 75 years is a long time, it's our entire lifetime. We need to decide if we can come to terms with the possibility that we may never see the Latin mass or a pure church glorifier again in our lives. Archbishop Marcel LeFebvre preserved the Church, Rome has lost the faith and become seat of the Antichrist. It's not enough to say the Latin mass, the key is in the priesthood. V2 priests are arguably invalid priests so the SSPX provides the world real priests and the real sacraments.

The problems with the Franciscan of the immaculata had to do with a split in the community between those who wanted to do only the Traditional Latin Mass and the others who would say the Novus ordo in Latin. Because it started out as a post Vatican congregation (formed I believe sometime in the 70s) it started out a Novus ordo community. The Friction between the two sides of the community eventually brought about the attention of Rome. The great number of vocations which were more traditionally minded also caused some of their problems.

Luke 16: 19 to 31 does the Rich man who despised Lazareth receive no punishment. The 1962 latin mass was no good to begin with. With the new rite ordination changed and desecrated you have no priests either. No priests No mass equals punishment in Eternal fire.
