I'm definitely choosing Whelen over SoundOff anytime. I love programming Whelen systems, there's no limit on what you can program with those (especially Core). I've had many people loving ideas and suggestions that can be realized with Core, definitely a huge benefit both in terms of safety and in terms of ease-of-use for the driver/ crew. Apart from that, products are properly thought through (alone the knob and slide switch controller is a blessing!) and quality is close to unbeatable.
Whelen is to the competition what Germany is to the US. By the time everyone else catches up to what they made, they already made something new and better.
For the life of me, I don't understand why Harris County Sheriff switched from the Whelen to Soundoff. IMHO Soundoff looks terrible and very purple from a distance.
I love the Whelan products, its all we try and use. That being said, I do also like to see flash patterns and what others are doing. I'd also love to see the black one as it stands but dark, To see all these tinted products, or not see... I've never seen a full bar tinted before. Its an interesting method and Id love to see it. and a big pet peeve of mine; WHY the hell are tracers on the ground!!! Why are they not mounted topside using the OEM Roof rack mounts, or under the roof rack rails if it comes with one?!? Tint it if you think it looks bad. But if its about being visible in an intersection, they lets SEE it where it counts! Not glaring off the surface of a wet, dry, or icy roadway. Yes, its nice to have a puddle light. But there are already products for that's. there is no reason that a TRI color tracer cant be set up as a warning device and as a TA device. its 4 feet to 6 feet long ( You could make them longer on a roof). Or keep the ODBII functionality, but get that light up where it can be seen! especially at or through intersections. And with a TA in it, the functionality just tripled! It just makes me scratch my head that we put an emergency light in the floor/ground, the exact opposite purpose of its invention.
Have you ever had a problem with any day sim? I’m having a problem where day sim isn’t working. You have to power cycle the switch and it starts working.
Both vehicles look magnificent, however those green lights are for fire responders NOT for law enforcement. If they are placed on law enforcement vehicles, this truly is ridiculous 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Where I am in Canada, they are used as a Command light. So that person or that vehicle in in Command or is overall IC despite what agencies are involved. Fire, Police, EMS, PW, Green is IC. Yet in other Provinces East of me, Green is used for Volunteer FF to halls or scenes. @utilitac333 said it right, Uniformity nation wide, For both nations!
We use both Whelen & Feinix. No problems whatsoever with either. Many folks say the Feinix is brighter than the Whelen. And...by the way, we paid $999 for the Feinix brand new, from a dealer, and you're right. The Whelen is a much higher priced bar. But for the last 4 years, both lightbars have performed equally.
