Are constant letters from TV Licencing deemed as harrasment?

On the second one I think. Two letters amounts to a ‘course of conduct’ in law - harassment.

I walked past a little shop yesterday and there was a sign saying "this building is alarmed". I'm not sure how i disturbed it though I'm sorry for causing distress by my presence. 😋

I feel the terms alarm and distress are often too lightly interpreted by many. For me, I think they should represent a real feeling of a heightened emotional state, not just annoyance or dislike towards an action. I feel too many try to equate alarm and distress to lesser emotional states than the legislation intended to address. Would be interesting to see the debates around the Bill to see what exactly the legislators had in mind when drafting it.

It’s a matter of keeping things polite and simply requesting answers and stating the reasons. It cannot be oppressive or threatening if they are legitimate enquiries (including pre-action)

Very useful video. Also I have another question. How can we complain about a Sheltered Housing Manager? A sheltered housing manager says any complaints about her must be addressed to her. This makes no sense. How can we complain to her managers, when the Trustees have no address details.

Depending on the nature of the housing there are several avenues I can think of that may help. Housing Ombudsman - if there's no clearly defined, independent complaints procedure, then they may be able to intervene. If there is, and you just haven't found it, they may be able to advise on how to proceed. Directors/Company Officers - should have name and contact details registered with companies house, a free search for the company records will make this available to you (note, it may be via their head office). Or a letter to the head office of the company addressed "FAO the Board" or FAO the CEO/Managing Director. Likewise, you mention Trustees - if this is a charity, their names will be registered with the charity commission, a letter addressed to them "c/o *company name/address*" should find its way to them. Trustees may well be the same people as the company directors, in which case you'll probably get more information out of companies house. If they provide care services, and that is related to the issue you're having then they may be under the purview of the CQC, so that's another possible avenue to go down.

Literally thought this. I get specific, intentional, targeted letters designed to scare me into an action I don't have to do. Seems to fit the description.

What about persistent sales people, eg. telesales, where people anr constantly contacted by aggressive sales tacticts? Can that be seen as harssment? Also people like debt clollection agencies who are prsistent with frequent phone calls and visits?

What about verbal language out in the street ie name calling of a act that you have not done or commited? how many times can they get away with it, is this Harassment too?

When do TV licence letters become harassment? I have had 17 in as many months.

Either respond and tell them you don't need a licence, or pay the fee. Then it will stop.

@@danthedroneman5771 indeed but I don't have to give my personal details to them if I am not a customer, and I'm not paying for services I don't and won't use to stop the letters as that's just foolish. I'd just rather they left me alone

So I could be guilty of harrasment when I have to make upward of a hundred phone calls before I finally get through to my GP surgery, or are they in fact harassing me by failing to provide any sensible alternative way of making an appointment?

Haw do I stop a soliciter from Harding me threw email intimidating me to sign a agreement and not allowing me to make a complaint against him and 12 months court order in place for child custards but he is harrying me to sign or to my ex plz help

Does you explanation cover a guilty party whom home force invaded me, causing me grievous bodily harm, sending them multiple communications, to warn them- multiple times their behaviour will end up in court and likely a five year jail sentence, please?

It seems I was 'oppressed' and harassed no one, accept perhaps by the volume of communications. My assumption is the assailant will not risk finding out the court's opinion.

@@willmagicman1289 You know it @Will. I believe Belfield...not one little bit. I think it is an MSM orchestrated social enfgeeneering stunt like so many others. There are so many deep -state 'players' and it is my strong opinion he is one, and what we are seeing is not reality. I think he is helping set the stage by acclimatising society to accept what he is claiming to have allegedly happened.

A chunk of this episode was just featured (29th Sept 2021) on RU-vid by “Alex Belfield - The Voice of Reason” He recommends to his viewers to watch more of BBB’s videos. Alex often features examples of social/legal injustices against both himself and others. He must have a remarkable network of contacts feeding him this type of news (and the background to provide context) as he features many news items of this nature several times a day.

Of course - most legislations says "he" referring to any person - an historic universal reference to person.

AND WAS WONDERING IF A JUDGE CAN CORRECT A NAME ON A NMO THAT HAD BEEN SENT OUT AND BEEN FOUND TO HAVE A INCORRECT SPELLED NAME THEN CORRECT THAT NAME IN RED INK AND FOR THAT CORRECTION TO BE SENT OUT AGAIN AND FOR IT TO BE LEGAL!!
