However, your previous comment assumed a weaponization of sorts of the concept of ego. A weapon used to degrade the other. In my opinion that’s a very limited view of the concept of ego. A better application of the concept would be in its use to identify our own neuroses and attachments, which in turn could help us further merge with the whole. Of course, it is just a concept, not right and wrong in and of itself. One that can be used egoically even lol. Just another possible tool.

We drifted apart so she could have time to heal as she would not accept my comfort nor company. Last week I saw her walking with another man. It could be an innocent act however I feel that the whole “time apart” thing was because of the other person. Trying to scrape whats left of me out of what I believed was my family. A few of us older people begin to see our lack of significance in a world of people we really did give our active lives to. Kahil Gibran wrote that our children are but arrows that come frim us as a bow. We launch them out into a world of their own to make their way not our way. When you become a greatgrandparent who was of service 24/7 and find the ghosts that live around you are just memories and silence and trying to think up some goals or obtainable dreams of your own and find your basket empty it is isolating. All those mountains you were going to climb when you got some personal time now have yellow caution tape everywhere so you sit at the bottom and pass the time in full awareness that you are done. You are becoming over. The circle of life is okay but when you become ghosted to witnessing the turning of the circle you can feel the aloneness of yourself. I think I over valued myself as a donnor lol

Hi Karen, you said it right, what do we think of once we let go of a story we believed to be true for so long? It took me 25 years to realise my first love never loved me for a minute, I ignored every red flag he gave me so I can have a fairytale to tell myself. Once I woke up I felt free, free to think of more positive things I have in my life today.

I have been in no contact for more than a year. I couldnt fall asleep for so long at first and was severely damaged. But great news for you! You will get through it, eventually all the guilt grief what if questions everything will just die out, but dont bottle your feelings... feel sob properly and let go.
