BLTV looks back the big heavyweight fight between Kevin 'KingPin' Johnson & Tyson Fury. Two defensive first, slick boxers that promised a Gatti/Ward style of fight? That was never going to be the case...
I don't think I'll ever forget how special Tyson was. At the time, In the late 80s and early 90s, Mike Tyson was just phenomenally famous, on a scale that you cannot even comprehend if you grew up with internet and social media. He really was a collosus of a man, and to those of us around my age and older, the memories of mike Tyson in his fearsome youth are truly unforgettable.
@JerreMuesli It's stupid that people who don't do any combat sports at all think they can judge a person's fighting abilities on how their bodies look. 😅
Haven’t seen this fight before! This is the best shape I’ve ever seen Fury in! Yet this was what 12 years ago? It now seems compulsory for him to have a spare tyre around his waste. He has achieved great things but it makes me wonder how good he could have been with better training!
@@invertedaura1986 Born in London, speaks with a British accent, considers himself British. Fought for Canada during Olympics because he has dual citizenship.
THE GOAT RELEASES 2 VIDEOS IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS?!?! Gotta pinch myself and make sure I'm not asleep. Stay in it king. Where's the FURY v.USYK prediction video?
Tysons probably been bare knuckle boxing since he was five years old. The travelers have matches all of the time and blood feuds that go generations back.
"Safety Pin" was what he used to get called when he'd come over to the UK and spend 10/12 rounds trying to survive! Fair play to him, he was good fun outside the ring if not inside
The funny thing is Peter Fury, the Gentleman (may I add) was the gangster in the room. I do mean that respectfully...he was one of the top faces in the UK underworld.
Did anyone else notice that Johnson was wearing wide receiver gloves to the press conference as a fashion statement or something. To me that was way funnier than him wearing sunglasses.
@@mrspecialk1234 you know 24 of his 34 wins are by KO right? A little less of a ratio than Hitman Hearns who had 48 through 61 fights where Fury is on pace to have 48 through 68 fights
Kevin has been a talented shit-talker since he was an amateur here in NJ, but has no mean streak. He shouldn't be mistaken for a thug. He is a light-hearted jokester and a cool dude.
Kevin Johnson not only lost to Tyson Fury but also to Hughie Fury he's cousin, he was a game decent level journeyman whos claim to fame was getting battered by Vitali Klitshko for 12 rounds straight, crafty but mediocre, could talk up a fight though haha.
Yeah but that was at time when being aggressive with front foot pressure would benefit him against wilder, he will need different tools and strategies against other opponents
The thing that the US don’t get, particularly the US wannabe gangster boxers is that the fury family ARE actual gangsters and not just low level do what the kingpin says corner boys.Connected people.
