I saw this video a long time ago searching for answers. About the time when after rex had surgery removal of two or 3 mass cell tumors. More popped up; I mean a lot more. I reached out to random oncologists to see if they offered this treatment. It wasn’t available to me at the time. About a year later Rex’s own vet had accidentally learned about this treatment, and told us about it. (He didn’t know I was already looking into it) I instantly knew what he was talking about. Fast forward today Rex is on day 4 of his stelfonta treatment. He’s doing great. I am so grateful, and enjoy watching this weird incredible process that will improve his entire life.

I should of been told about you from my regular veterinary. Not having the knowledge of all the treatments available i could not make the best decision for my dog. Nice video, it's very informative and you explain details to us which is good to know how things work.

Oh how I wish this treatment was available 2 years ago, before my beloved dog died from a subcutaneous mast cell tumor after surgery, radiation and chemo treatments were not successful and it spread to her bone marrow. She really was like a daughter to me. I still think of her every single day!

My Boston Terrier had a Stelfonta treatment about 2 weeks ago. It was on his hind leg just above the ankle. This was one of three tumors. The other two were surgically removed. After the injection, he was very uncomfortable for the first few days with a lot of swelling. Over the next week, the wound started growing and actually moved up the leg a few inches and opened a new, second wound. The vet was a bit surprised but did tell us in the beginning that this medication was still fairly new to her. However, the wounds did and still do look very clean and uninfected, like fresh, raw steak. He's on gabapentin and that seems to work quite well for the discomfort. Based on what I see, the wounds look well on their way to healing fully. Hopefully, this will soon be behind him and he can go back to being his regular, lovable dog self.

My 10 year old Boston Terrier was just diagnosed with a MCT on her toe. She had one surgically removed from her side about a year ago. Stelfonta wasn't mentioned at the time. How's your dog doing now?
@bigdan827_8
@bigdan827_8 2 года назад
@@pauladorfman6048 He's doing quite well, thanks for asking. He's back to his old Boston Terrier self, active and a bit nutty. The MCT on his ankle is gone, thanks to the Stelfonta, and there's almost no scarring. I hope your Boston does just as well, no matter what treatment the vet recommends.

Why can’t we use the Pet Tumor Tracker app in the US?! Our three dogs have had so many lumps mapped by our vet but we’re spending extra time, worry, and money bringing them in extra times because we can’t recall which lumps have been mapped and deemed skin tags or cysts, and which are new lumps needing to be checked out. There are so many we can’t keep track and we NEED this app!

Many thanks Dr. Sue for your hard work and time in creating these informative videos. Electrochemistry was mentioned in this video. Maybe you can make a video to tell us more about this method of chemotherapy? Sincere greetings from Latvia.

My sweet 7 yr old chocolate lab, Lillie, had. marble sized mast cell tumour removed from her left leg In that hollow are behind the Achilles’ tendon. It had been there perhaps only 3 months. They said it was about stage 2, phase 0. They couldn’t get as much margin as they wanted because of vessels and the tendon. Chemo was an option due to money and distance so we are giving prednisone. About 6 weeks now and about 12 mg.s a day with a stomache pill. She is always voraciously hungry and thirsty, pees a lot, pants especially later in the day and at bedtime she is restless. She moans and groans more than usual and differently. She seems afraid. Her eyes have a different expression, like something isn’t right. My wife and I both think she is suffering from the steroid. She weighs about 80 lbs.. She hasn’t gained weight. I walk her almost every day. I hate what effect the prednisone is doing to her. Please tell me there is something else I can give her that will keep the mast cell cancer at bay but be less harsh. She seems physically fine other than the drug effects. Please help. my email is bobbyo65@outlook.com I am in Ontario Canada. I so hate to see her suffering.

Can you give an update on Lillie? My 9-yr old golden is going down a similar path, we're around 17 days in with 20 mg prednisone, 2x daily. I've elected not to go with chemo because not one of 3 vets I've spoken with can give me a 'success' case of the dog living more than a year after. That's not success to me. Dr, Sue, I wish I'd seen this video a month ago. I argued with the vet's assistant for 20 minutes about leaving a hole in my boy's back (ruptured tumor I cleaned, which left a hole while everyone was closed for Thanksgiving weekend). Had they told me (or even known) that a hole like that can heal on its own, it would have saved me a lot of grief. I was amazed to see it close on its own. He has about 20 more though 🙄

I just lost my dog Bigfoot a day after Easter Sunday he had got aspiration pneumonia again for the fourth time due to bloating my vet said that his lower half of his body was pretty much dead he had blood flow but since he had extensive nerve damage he would bloat Everytime he eats anything and I would have to give him gas x pills and enemas he got to were the last week he couldn't push out his bowel movements and that's why I had to do the enemas. He was fourteen years old I miss him dearly I had to take care of him constantly for the past four months but I would do it the rest of my life if I had the privilege to he was so special he passed away while I was talking and petting him poor little Arnold since he died don't want to eat and I have been having to take him to the city and drive to restaurants and he will eat when he is away from the house but when he gets home I have to talk him into eating and hand feeding him he is Lost without his big brother and I am too bigfoot was the main cheese here.

How much does it cost to have a lump tested for cancer? my dog has one about the size of a golf ball, and i,m on disability and low income, but if i knew what it was i could treat with natural medicine that i have researched, such as Turkey tail mushrooms, and turmeric.

My dog Bella just received her Stelfonta injection in her two tumors on Monday 11/15. One is on her side and the other on her middle toe. The one on her side is blackening and on the right track. Her toe however hasn't changed much. We are on day 4 since her Stelfonta injection. Is this normal? Should I start to see a change on the toe in the next few days?
