Joy, you are so inspiring! I love how real and transparent you are. Its like you are saying its ok to make mistakes. Because I do and feel bad about it. Thanks for being you!! Never change:)
I like the roses top a lot, my favourite print too, but the sleeves are too far away from your arms. I think they either should be narrower, the fabric is not drapy enough or it would look better with regular short sleeves. You could keep the pleat shut with a clasp, or a fabric rose. Surefit Designs has several series of videos on RU-vid for beginners. Among others, Make it Sew. The picure of the new owner replaced Glenda as icon but the videos are by Glenda or Elsabe. Very good techers. The Learning center on their site is full of easy to follow information and their courses worthwhile. Elsabe has course on Surefit Designs academy south africa: Pattern making Basics - Tips and Techniques I really like. For advanced construction techniques, to learn by watching, no talking at all, Atelier Season, by a Japanese seamstress, is very interesting. I watch Thoughtful Creativity too. Easy to follow and nice ideas. J Stern Designs and Appearance studio are also among my favourites.
I love Shirley Temple! My friend has the same doll. Someone gave it to her. It was in poor condition so she had me give her a makeover including making her new clothes. She wanted to give her to me because I mentioned I always wanted one but I said no. Then I found one at a vintage place. She’s still waiting for her makeover lol
Wow, the white with flowers blouse is perfect on you! Missed you and you know viewers ‘worry’. You have your share of tasks! Now I’ll be quiet and watch….
Hi Joy, I so enjoy your energy! On your blouse with the pleat, could you sew down the pleat until just below your bust? Thanks for sharing your adventures .
Joy, welcome back, missed you and your humor. The blouse with the petal sleeves and the pleat, can you sew the pleat down which would eliminate you having to mess with it? Just a thought. :) Love it, very cute and it looks great on you.
Red hair - Maureen O'Hara :-))). The first top is pretty. The shorts set looks great. The Rose blouse needs to be tacked down somehow. 2 buttons looks less crowded. That blouse is very nice. I like the sleeves & the Steam a Seam idea. Brilliant 👏
Good to see you back. I love the blue outfit and the blouse turned out so pretty. I am watching this video with my left eye closed quite a bit. I got the cataract removed this morning and it’s a bit irritated. Everything is so beautiful outside so vivid and bright. God’s handiwork is beyond awesome! I got right one done a couple of weeks ago. Missed sewing today but eye blurry & uncomfortable today. I think you should call your doll Emerald because of her green eyes.
Oh, I really love your aqua shorts outfit! Aqua looks very becoming on you, too!😍 I was missing your videos, but I understand that life gets busy! Busy out here, too!
I have made the New Look tumic , long sleeve with one slanted sode hem several times. It first came out as a pattern with jut the one sude slant..i love it..i have made it several times out of light swater weight fabric and i live them. I bet i made them 7 or 8 years ago..i have plenty of clothes so nothing gets worn too often .. both tunics still loom brand new and i get lots of compliments.
Hello Joy! I was just telling my husband that I hadn't heard from you in a while (you are the only person I listen to that he likes to hear). I'm glad to hear that you are both well. ( if I had that dolly, I would name her Molly)
Why put sleeves on that blouse Joy, it looks beautiful without sleeves, beautiful fabric by the way and again you are so talented and beautiful with a big big heart, love your videos
Hi again. Personally I don’t like this sleeve type in your new top. And I would hem it at a shorter length and maybe sew the pleat down? Love the fabric😊
Anytime you’re going to go on vacation or away for a while, all of your appliances need to be unplugged and you may want to mention to Jerry to look into a UPS. It’s a universal power supply that probably would have saved your router except you really should’ve unplugged it anyway.
@@Joy4650B anytime I know a thunderstorm is coming I unplugged everything except my refrigerator well actually that’s not true sometimes I unplug that as well Sent you an email about the lint roller 👍🏻👍🏻
Hello Joy as always good to see you I like the blouse 2 buttons Do you think that a knit might work in your pattern as well Would be interested to see how that works Well done beautiful sewing as always Take care Happy sewing God bless you 👗 🙏 ❤️
I really like your blouse!! Such talent!!! Would you like the sleeves more if the top of the sleeve was going towards the back instead of towards the front? Just a thought!! Great pattern!!
Why not attach buttons along the pleat where they don't open, much like fake buttons. This would take care of the pleat opening. I love your blouse and the fabric, very pretty.
You should name her rose❤ love the blue outfit! The rose top is soo pretty! I think the sleeves need to be smaller at the bottom, yes 2 buttons on the collar and tack the pleat and yes I think shorter length is your style😊 I love the collar it reminds me of Maureen O'hara in parent trap❤
The marker will erase overtime. Here’s the Marvy information no water necessary. ERASABLE FABRIC MARKER by Marvy Uchida 9 Reviews Current price$3.39 The Erasable Fabric Marker is a great fabric marker pen to use for outlining on any personalized shirt, costume, or gift. Also good for marking up sewing, embroidery, and handicraft. If you make a mistake or no longer need the markings it is easy to erase, just add water and the ink will disappear immediately, without water it will disappear over time.
Super cute top! Next time you might want to reverse the sleeves so that the opening/fold opens in the back. HOWEVER, it’s fantastic . Good job as always ✝️🇺🇸🙏
Joy, I'm pretty sure those purple Marvey markers are air erasable. They disappear over time when exposed to the air. The purple color is universal in air dissolvable fabric markers. It should also come out with cool water. The problem I always had with the air purple ones is that when it's real humid out, the air erasable mark disappears really fast. The blue markers are the ones that only come out with water. Blue markers are universally water erasable. Setting an iron on the mark could well set a mark, tho there are a few not affected by an iron. I can never remember which ones the heat will not set so I just make sure not to do that. Yes, thank heavens for the Frixion markers. I imagine the tincture of time and air dissolved away your purple marks. Your shorts and top are really cute on you. The colors on camera are all so light that is hard here to see the sewing machine features, but still cute. The only TV red head I know of is Lucy. Loved her. I know your double is Lucy, but you could have another. 2 buttons, yes. Not my fav blouse.
You’re very talented putting that gorgeous top together, but I’m not so sure about the sleeves. I feel that if they faced (flapped) toward the back instead of the front it would give a more finished look. Just my humble opinion 🌹❤️
