honestly half the reason why anemo is so overpowered is 4 viridescent. if its just the element, i feel like hydro is tied with anemo, since anemo is almost solely a support element (with xiao as the only true exception, even heizou kinda works half as a support) while hydro is way more versatile. it balances out the playing field imo

Kazuha's only weakness is that once you're used to him, you use him for everything. He's in my dendro, mono hydro and exploration team. The man is too fun to play

Hoyo needs to add a Geo Chongyun to isolate the element. If they won't make a new reaction for it, might as well make it completely independent.

Idk whether it'd be a reaction or not, but it'd be great to see geo characters do stuff like make earthquakes, trap enemies in constructs, make landslides, quicksand and magma. There's far too much potential for geo to end at shield and crystallize

My take: *Hydro* Every hydro unit in game is somewhere between above average to broken level(S tier to SS tier) except barbruh(understandable since she's a free starter character). The only downside of hydro was its lackluster resonance, which got reworked this patch and is now one of the best resonance.

Dendro is currently lacking support for "reverse bloom" where dendro is applied to hydro. It is highly likely that Nilou is going to enable that sort of gameplay.

Cryo,Anemo,Hydro,Dendro,Electro,Pyro: We have an army. Geo: I have a Itto.

Hydro and Anemo. They enable the entire meta and so many team comps to exists, literally.

Pre 3.0 I would’ve said either Hydro or Anemo since they both provide important reactions for the meta teams. But after 3.0 and the introduction of Dendro, I believe Hydro edges out Anemo due to its wider compatibility and especially after the change to Hydro Resonance. Anemo does provide invaluable crowd control, but I attribute that more to a character’s kit than a trait reflective of the element as a whole.

I feel like it would be Anemo or Hydro, but Hydro might edge ahead bevause it can both be an excellent support as well as an dps element due to having access to amplifying reactions, thus making it more versatile.

Lol it's hilarious that i watch this as a ningguang and Eula main. I kinda don't know why I never gravitated towards the reaction based teams. I'd guess it's maybe because I'm not a fan of setting up things beforehand to do. Like I have hutao but she "feels" so weak without xingqiu. I tend to like characters that deal DMG on their own without help.

The thing I feel like people don’t bring up with cryo is the fact that it’s the only element with a passive effect, ie it slows enemies without having to do an elemental reactions

It stills baffles me how Hoyoverse didn't create a reaction for Geo and Deandro. Considering that in Real Life where elemental reactions derived from... Deandro shouldn't exists without Geo. Like the existence of Plants (Deandro) makes the Land(Geo) stronger. And the land supplies nutrients for the plants. In Game this two elements should be helping each other out. Making each other Better. It would have been a perfect opportunity to buff Geo. But instead they created a relatively unknown reactions from Electro and Deandro. When in reality Electricity and plants only actually cause burning. 😂

I was so upset when I found out dendro wouldnt have a elemental reaction with geo🙁, Im a geo main and I was really hoping hoyoverse would do something to help geo with the release if dendro. Like, imagine if dendro x geo would do the same effect zhongli's meteor does so It sorta similarr to freeze

I think what Geo needs is essentially what Nilou will be for Hydro: a reaction changer. Imagine a character who through their kit makes crystallize actually useful, or even changes it altogether. I know Nilou is not yet been released but the possibilities she opens are crazy, she changes the concept of Bloom itself

I think Hydro edges out Anemo. While Anemo is very versatile, it's almost exclusively used to make a functional team better, but in many teams, hydro make the team functional in the first place. Think about it this way: take a random team, and remove one element from that team (and replace the removed character with another character of an other element), what element get removed the most often? I think the answer is anemo, and I think it's not even close

I'd put hydro above anemo. Hydro is the linchpin for nearly every powerful reaction in the game, and with reworked hydro resonance that took it from worst to first, there's no doubt in my mind that hydro is top dog. Anemo units have useful functions like crowd control and resistance shred, but those functions have more to do with kits and artifact bonuses than they do the element itself.

not giving geo a dendro reaction was such a blow to my confidence in the current balance. I'm biased cause I love itto but I just was so excited for geo to get SOMETHING new. We don't even have a new char in sight either. My cope is hoping we get some sand Geo char that gets a bit of grouping since Geo doesn't play with anemo and grouping can feel so important in abyss. That being said I truly don't see them doing anything to move away from their current design which is either sheilds or Def stacking :/

Hydro. Useful in all teams and all situations. Has 2 good main dps, arguably the best healer and the best sub dps on single target. The Yelan and Xingqiu destroy single targets.

I think cryo or hydro is the best element, because of their valuable reactions. Other elements (e.g. pyro) do have amazing units (bennett, hu tao, xiangling), but pyro is mostly used for vaporize and melt. However hydro and cryo are versatile: freeze and electro charged are amazing with large groups of weaker enemies, and they both have access to damage amplifying reactions such as vaporize and melt.

Personally i'd rank cryo lower, probably on the same-ish level to pyro for one simple reason: freeze is the most conditional reaction out of them all. And if you can't freeze your enemy, well, cryo becomes kind of shit. Yes, reverse melt exists, but due to nature of current characters it's too unreliable and you better play another element at this point.

Crystalize actually can be super helpful if you don't want to bring along a straight up shield character. And unless if you have Zhongli, it will last longer than other shields if you have an off field damage dealer and Gorou's burst activated.

I do think separating characters from the elements overall, while useful for general elemental analysis, excludes some fun little details that can possibly effect the placement of the elements depending on what people value. That being said, it's not by much. But as to what I mean: Geo, SOMEHOW, becomes even worse since in a vast majority of teams you'll be running Zhongli, and since shields don't stack Crystalize somehow becomes even more worthless than it already is. The existence of C6 Noelle as an option also doesn't help with this, as does Geo Resonance encouraging bringing your own shielder. Electro has gotten a huge boost to its power with Dendro, to the point where I'd say it may actually be the most consistent element at both high and low rarities. Fischl and Beidou have always been good, but Dendro has uplifted Keqing into the meta as well. And if you want to see the pure stupidity of 3.0's shenanigans in action...we have Self-Overload Burgeon Spread Aggravate Bloom Hyperbloom Vaporize Electrocharged Pyro EM Razor. Yes, this is a possible team, yes, it's stupid as hell, and yes, it somehow actually works. I would actually say Electro just barely edges out Dendro and maybe Cryo, but TBH the 3 overall are very close. Dendro's biggest flaw right now is that we have so little units for it. The 3 we have all excel in their own areas, but also have their own serious flaws. I don't think we'll get a true picture of Dendro's potential until we get the Archon, just due to the wackiness of the current chars. Cryo, IMO, has a slight problem with overall price. You can make a pretty decent budget freeze team, but people don't praise freeze's power because of Rosaria, Kaeya, and Chongyun. (even if Rosaria and Kaeya are underrated as hell) Odds are, if you're running freeze, you want Ganyu, Ayaka, or to a much lesser extent Shenhe. And when it comes to the other side of the reaction... Hydro has a HUGE problem with overall price, and it's probably the most F2P unfriendly element in the entire game, Xingqiu is absolutely bonkers absurd good, but he's all you have, unless you're willing to use Barbara which most people seem to agree isn't the best idea. If you want to take advantage of Hydro's true potential, you need at least one 5 star unit, especially since Xingqiu is in stupidly high demand. And that's a problem none of the other elements have to this extent, except Geo. On the bright side, the overall quality of Hydro characters is high enough that literally any 5* unit will do for these purposes, which is why I totally agree on it being in the running for best element. I do expect this to change slightly with next patch, though. Anemo is living the dream with Sayu and Heizou. Sure, they're not anywhere near as great as the rest of the element's characters (bar one), but now we have a decent variety of low rarity Anemo characters, which helps it avoid the little things holding Cryo from being better and Hydro from being the best. Hydro may be great if you can use it, and Cryo may be great with some high-rarity characters in either it or Hydro, but Anemo can thrive in any team with any of its options. Except Anemo Traveler. I don't want to go back to the 1.X days. It's 5* options being really damn good overall just adds icing to the cake. In general, this only makes the middle elements even more competitive, since Anemo gets better, and Geo gets worse. Hydro technically gets worse, but it the effect it has is minimal and is basically just new-player exclusive. It really just makes the super close standings of Cryo/Electro/Dendro even more up to personal preference. (and personal roster)

Geo still is such a weird element. I personally love playing itto with ayaka xinqiu and qiqi (yes this team is practically invincible) but sometimes i wish geo crystals can have the same effect as it does in the inazuma weapon domain - whenever a character takes crystal it gives off a burst of damage, so that elemental mastery would stop being so useless on geo dps (noelle, itto...). Doesn't even need to be big burst damage, just make the shields last longer/stronger, the burst of damage slowing enemies or deal geo damage, and it would be much better for geo as a whole. And why won't geo react with dendro? trees grow on earth, after all

Tbh i feel like a way to make geo be more "pairable" with other characters would be a way for the shield created from crystalize to deal dmg in some way, like maybe continuous dmg of the element that activated it.

it kinda makes you think that the worst element is the one without any meaningful reactions while the 2 best are the ones with most of the good reactions. I feel like if they ever decide to give geo some more reactions it would definitely become a lot better than atleast pyro and electro

Hi Vars, I have one questions: Would be possible for you to do a "Best Characters for F2P accounts"? Taking into considerations things like viability, lvl up items and weapons avaliable for F2P player.

Anemo because it's the most fun one: In exploration, in CC (unless cryo hydro reactions are involved), damage (because swirling crazily is what allows lots of explosive AoE numbers via reactions). Honorable mention: Dendro has really funny gameplay via interesting reactions instead of via its own personal damage, same as Anemo! I think Dendro might become a staple in the future.

I’m glad that electro is finally getting the attention and strength it deserves. I’ve been an electro main since the beginning (Fischl), and even now still use electro characters (raiden), I just always loved electro and was sad to see that it wasn’t really meta when I started getting into the meta.

It's great that regardless of how you rank elements or reactions, everything is still very effective and viable. A fully geo team can still feel very busted to play. And even though superconduct stonks might be low, I still run it for Eula because it's a huge boost for her physical damage. It really comes down to picking your flavour 👌

Hydro. Hydro is the most broken element in the game. Vape and freeze are 2 OP reactions that rely on hydro, taser, overvape, hyperbloom, fridge, the lost goes on. Everyone wants that moist goodness. Element value as of 3.0 imo: Hydro > Anemo > Dendro > Electro > Cryo/Pyro > Geo.

Using anemo traveller tornado to whisk up some enemies and mix in the bloom fruit bombs is hilarious.

Without taking grouping into consideration Electro has been my favourite element even before I got raiden Shogun(thanks to beidou mostly). It's so graphic, does good damage, love the overload explosion and most importantly the ENERGY RECHARGE.

the real order: 1 anemo : best supportive element , spreads auras , groups enemys for all the archtypes to deal consistent dmg , good team utility across the board , good drivers 2 hydro : best enabler in all the game, good consistency and uptime across the board, most of the units even worse units amongs the elemt are still desirable, (you can argue that hydro is the king but that matter on what you value more , even so hydro and anemo gap on the other elements is just scary even their worst units are still good-mediocre at worst ) 3 electro: pre dendro it would around 4 or 5 but post dendro just make this element fk nuts , the popular lie of electro being bad is just a joke , overload is meh , electro charge is fk good tier allowing you to have 2 auras for double reaction if you have strong app with good cover and spread , superconduct was meh , and now with aggravate and fk hyperbloom OH BOI , also most of the units allow any driver to take the wheel and go jam they dont require active managment 4 dendro : what can i say this element is the 2nd best support element and make strong elements even stronger while making weak elements in the same relative power lvl, aggravate , spread , bloom and by consequence hyperbloom and burgeon are just too good, the only think that limits this element are the units if one day we get a good off field dendro well.... it will be dendro meta for sure (while dendro is really good its heavy limited by the units we have , dmc is good but if we had something amaizing like xingqiu or kokomi in terms of application it will be this place with out a doubt , so feel free to drop it 1 spot as of now but even then the raw potentiall is just too good and electro carries it at this point alone ) 5 cryo : you can argue that cryo deserves top 4 but it aint better than that super conduct is meh, vape is better than melt and even then pyro is a leech sucking on hydro success , superconduct is meh , so that leaves only freeze , while good is and broken on enemys that can be frozen is just like: venti ; either is the most disgusting think when it works , or useless when it doesnt so rendering cryo to a OTP , a really good trick but when doesnt work is just meh, also teh best units are mostly reliable on freeze so with out it you just better off taking a hydro instead 6 pyro: ooh boi .... while straigh foward and the most unga boonga is still far from best , even xiangling cant carry it that far, so only dmg : overload , vape and melt, burning is a joke and can frick up your dendro so only burgeo is good , and well at that point just run hyperbloom ..... yeah pyro is at the bottom, now still is not that far behind from the the rest their gap is some what decent but still , is nothing like geo 7 geo: one single word > crystilized, if geo wasnt so inclined to only work with himself well it woulld be better but right now is just on a corner with all of the geo members and they dont care you are geo or your opinion to them is not importat.... so let them chill in that corner

I wish that instead of the direction hoyoverse took with making geo solely a mono element team, that they played off of its theme of inert power to make strong, overturned damage dealers with high onfield uptime. It would be cool if geo held great DPS units and drivers, while other elements like pyro and cryo, while having lower dps, can have added benefits like explosive bursts (short rotations), and utility like freeze. I think that everyone was too concerned about power creep back then, but if Itto had much higher solo damage capabilities without being tied to Gorou and energy issues, it would be great to add him to rainbow element teams despite the lack of reactions

Mono Geo Team: _Bonjour~_ inb4 _"oh but Mono Cryo can…"_ *Can it break Cryo shields?* That's what I thought.

Some geo element reaction ideas: 1) Shatter (when an attack with either geo, dendro, or anemo hits an opponent with a geo element attached to it, it causes small missile-like geo shards to hit enemies) 2) quicksand (when geo attack hits geo element infused opponent, opponent will slowly sink into the ground - will move slower - but will eventually get unstuck) 3) Rumble (when an opponent is hit with geo whilst having a reaction Aggravate or Spread, sends small AoE damage to nearby enemies)

I'm very thankful for dendro introduction! Finally MC is part of my main roster with my first 5star Keqing, with mc she slaps so much harder than before xD also seems like Kokomi benefits from Dendro very much too.

I was just debating this topic with my friends who play Genshin with me the other day. I had made an argument as to why I loved Anemo, Hydro, and Cryo the best and this list kinda solidifies all of my reasoning. Thank you so much for sharing. This was both very interesting and, inadvertently, validating. ☺

Here's my thoughts before the video is out 1 - Anemo (Grouping, VV shred, fall damage on certain types of humanoids, Kazuha/Venti/Sucrose/Jean) 2 ‐ Hydro (Best Pyro comps rely on Hydro units for Vape, especially Xingqiu and Tartaglia, Kokomi/Ayato for Freeze and they work with Electro-charge, Yelan works well with any of the hydro reactions) 3 - Electro (Aggravate dendro + electro are overlapping a certain time hence why Fischl A4 is op (even more with Keqing fast electro application), Superconduct for physical, Overload with groupers like Venti/Sucrose/Kazuha or Zhongli with his petrify, Electro-charge, Hyperbloom with Kuki/Full EM Raiden, best batteries are Electro look at Raiden, Fischl, Electro MC) 4 - Pyro (Mostly because of Bennett, Xiangling and Hu tao Vape comps, Thoma is decent at damage with burgeon but better at shielding, +25%ATK with resonance, Mono Pyro is good) 5 - Dendro (Up to 100 EM with resonance, Spread, Bloom, Burgeon, Hyperbloom, the Dendro roster has only 3 units Dendro Traveler is best because free cons, Collei is decent (1 is 5 star) and lacks higher elemental application unit like Xingqiu/Tartaglia are for Hydro) 6 - Cryo (Superconduct (Eula), Freeze, needing Hydro + Anemo most of the time, Ayaka/Ganyu/Shenhe are all good, +15% crit rate resonance, Rosaria can give 15% crit rate, Blizzard strayer can give 20 to 40% crit rate, they just want Crit Damage, Atk%, ER and for melt some EM) 7 - Geo (It's just a Raw Damage Element, the only Crystallize comp is Ningguang with Yelan Xingqiu Zhongli/Kazuha since the 2 Hydro don't snapshot Mono Geo is bad vs elemental shields other than Geo)

Geo is great, but its in the wrong game. Most players opt for the best defense is by having the best offense, which leads people building teams that contribute on providing the best damage. Conversely if the game has more content that revolves around survivability then Geo would be a vital element to bring. In addition, new mobs who's damage are corruption which passes through shields made Shields and the Geo element irrelevant. Nerfs on mobs and bosses were unnecessary, having hard hitting mobs gives the Geo element a use. Geo artifacts are Weird, Archaic petra is a geo damage type artifact that provides Geo damage bonus on its 2pc while it gives a support type bonus on its 4pc. On top of it, the support damage bonus doesn't even support its user. On the other hand, the Bolide artifact set is a defensive type artifact which gives more shield strength on its 2pc, but it provides a damage boost on its 4pc. These 2 artifacts provide very niche bonuses on an element that is rarely important, and not only is it very niche, it also does a terrible job at it. In order to supply your dps with shields and shield buffs, they would need to equip the same artifacts and have the same stats that would give shield buffs there by sacrificing their original dps build into a less optimal way of building a dps. Geo is just an underwhelming element even though it has carried me a lot in my early days of Genshin(Except Zhongli). I had played Genshin for a long time and I had expected contents that would give Geo a use. I'm quite disappointed that there's no content that revolves around defense. I hope they would buff it like to be at least on par with the other elements, and maybe game mode with an endless waves of enemies with damage increasing each wave. I'd hope for that.

Internal cooldown isn't applied to reactions but to elemental application, so it doesn't matter which element and reaction your are doing, internal cooldown will limit your elemental application and therefore the number of reactions you can trigger. In freese teams, the reason why we can keep ennemies frozen is that the caracters played in those teams apply enough cryo and hydro to freeze ennemies while they are already frozen which refreshes the freese duration. To understand how internal cooldown works, you can watch Zajef77's Ayato pre-release video

The only time Anemo is weak in my opinion is "Anemo based opponent who outright blocks Anemo." And "Opponents with a persistent element you cannot override, and swirling doing nothing to help do damage." It is the only time it isn't at it's peak.

I’m surprised that Pyro was so low. While yes it slowly got nerfed overtime, I still expected it to be atleast in number 4.

I love using electro and cryo for that physical res shred from superconduct and just messing tgem up as Ayaka, Heizou or Raiden afterwards. It doesn't shred it by much, but it does it's job as I can't stand running into enemy groups and just using only ES/EB skills to get rid of them all unless circumstances call for it. I love using auto attack as much as possible.

Yeah, I personally disagree. I think, especially now, that Hydro is the best, by quite a large margin tbh. Anemo is busted under a lot of circumstances, but can simultaneously fall short in others (for both buffing and cc). My personal rankings are: 1.Hydro Gap 2.Anemo 3.Electro 4.Cryo 5.Dendro (may go up tbh) Gap 6.Pyro Gap 7.Geo

anemo is amazing when you also have other elements being constantly applied. Like, imagine you have some permanent hydro and dendro applier and you add raiden or keqing to the mix with an electro swirl.

While I love geo and its roster, I must say that geo's reaction is the worst. The resonance is powerful but the reaction is stupidly weak. I think a way to make it better is add some utility, offensive, and increased defensive attributes to crystallize. For utility, they could add an auto-absorb mechanic to the shards without the need to actually walk to the shards. For an offensive attribute, they could add a similar passive from the Archaic Petra artifact set albeit a bit tamer, maybe a small EM damage bonus for the element infused to the crystallize or an attack bonus for general usage. And I think they should also make it inert for every geo character to be stronger for breaking all types of shields or at least on par with the shields counter element (e.g. As strong as Pyro against cryo shield).

pyro resonace kinda 50/50 bc of atk% boost. some characters dont scale with atk so its buff is useless. i wish it boosted dmg% instead

Heres my updated teirlist: Also keep in mind that there arent any good denro units out currently so its harder to proc reactions. Also this isnt based off of how good the characters are, but hoow good the reactions are. Anemo, Hydro, Cryo, Electro, dendro, pyro, geo. And it used to be; Anemo, hydro, cryo, electro, pyro, geo. So not much has changed imo but dendro might go up when dendro xq comes out

I would knock down Anemo a Peg if you don't have Kazuha and or Venti, even Sucrose who is a 4* is quite rare as well. Anemo shouldn't take the top spot because not all Anemo Characters have busted Crowd Control like Sayu and Heizou, even Jean as well if you don't utilize her Skill and Burst well. VV can be put for almost every Anemo Character, no contest that Artifact is great for Support and Damage. The only Anemo you can get early on is Traveler with Constellations which is a big plus at least. Hydro feels more reliable as it acts like a Glue for every team. Healing, Reaction and less-Intrusive than the rest of the elements thanks to it. But it is incredibly scarce like Anemo, but it can be remedied once you have Xingqiu and/or Mona. But Hydro Characters are very hard to come. You can even get Barbara as well. Pyro is that Offensive Element with horrible Crowd Control in of itself. But very powerful on the right team, especially with Anemo with Crowd Control. But it is very accessible, thanks to Xiangling and Amber. Cryo is simple but effective. It can Freeze Regular mobs and Superconduct can be used against High HP and Hi-Physical Resistant Enemy like Bosses and Ruin Enemies. You can compete with Melt but Frozen comp is so convenient than that is a better crowd control since that is very accessible with a lot of Cryo Units you can get besides 5* Units. Kaeya is a Starter and he can be used Freeze Comp because of his Burst. Electro has been a Battery and Reaction Based element then, but they can almost compete against Vaporize and Melt but it is very early to tell because how Limited the Dendro Rosters are at the moment. But it has very poweful reactions regardless who you put, even better with a Taser comp. You can even get Lisa as a Starter. Dendro is quite new, but shows a lot of promise. Has Sub-Reactions that are good on paper but you need some positioning and right Elements to even trigger them with the right Artifacts. You can even get a great Dendro Applier like Traveler and Collei in 3.0 Event. Geo is just a league of its own but sad that it never got a new Reaction as of 3.0. You need a Mono Geo Team or Geo Resonance to get Massive Output of Damage. And like Anemo and Hydro, to some extent, it is very rare and you can get either Noelle Early on or get Ningguang later. But it is such a very Offensive and Defensive Unit that it can be played with other resonance if you got two Geos in your Team.

For It's just that hydro and anemo are somewhat tied. On top of it hydro unit does not rely on a unique set for them to work so that's a plus for them. For example Kokomi can use multiple sets based on play style like Clam, Tenacity, Deepwood, Guilded, Heart of Depth, etc, Yelan and Xingque can go 2pc 2pc, or nobless and so on..

I can agree with Geos placements on this list, but I feel like the comfortable rotation of a mono geo team is pretty valuable for players like me who cant really memorize complicated rotations and combos (or dont care to do it)

Geo reaction needs to break elemental shields faster

Hydro. It forms the basis of some of the most powerful and useful reactions. Vaporise, Electrocharged, Freeze, Bloom, etc. all can't happen without Hydro. Anemo is very useful for its crowd control and spreading elements but it lacks the sheer power of some of the other reactions. Pyro, Cryo, and Electro are all strong but they rely on each other and Hydro to unlock their full power. Geo is probably the worst element. It has minimal reactions and all you do is hit people with rocks or make sheilds.

I would like geo to have the ability for constructs to have elements applies to them. That’s basically it. Allow elements to be applied to geo constructs, and allow that application to strengthen the construct against damage. That way, you could generate reactions off of geo constructs, allowing the geo element to interact with the rest of the system, literally supporting everything else the way the earth supports everything on it.

Nice placement, however I disagree Anemo being THAT far away from other elements. In fact, I think Anemo by itself isn´t really that strong, but grouping is and so is the kit of Kazuha, Sucrose and Venti. Funny enough: There´s certain teamcomps where you can replace Kazuha with Dendro MC... and the dps loss isn´t very high (according to the TC I watched the difference in overall damage is like 5% in a team like Tartaglia, Traveler, XL, Bennett). Also it is true that Frozen is a very strong reaction, but Melt and Superconduct are very weak... so I wouldn´t place Cryo that high on the list (specially since enemies that can´t be frozen exist, and most shielded enemies also can´t be frozen). Hydro on the other hand is obviously the top element. Basically almost every meta team includes Hydro, and Hydro units are ALL good (Even Barbara isn´t as bad for a 4*). No other element has that many top tier units in the game (XQ, Tartaglia, Ayato, Kokomi, Mona). So my ranking would be as follows: Geo, Pyro, Cryo, Electro, Dendro, Anemo, Hydro.

i do get what you mean by anemo being the strongest, but it is weird that the reason for geo being the "worst" element without considering the characters is the reaction, but anemo is the best because of its characters, if we take into consideration only the reactions, anemo is just slighty better than geo cause swirl does good AOE dmg and elemental application, thats why i think a elements tier list is a weird concept, the elements are usually better represented by their users than their reactions.

6:20 here is my list because putting Pyro on 6h place is clearly insanity 1th Water same damage as fire maybe a bit lass but interacts with every element. part of Freez 2th Ice Freez and more Damage with reactions. Resonance gives Crit rate on Freez. 3th Fire Best damage on solo and huge damage in water and ice reaction, Best resonance 25% atk. 4th Electo Low damage unless we ad Dendro that thaks up valuable slot (on that note Raiden and Lisa are only okay to use, all other electro units are garbage). 5th wind aria nerf enemy because artifacts, and crating reaction its like oil on fire in combination and a lot of energy, 6th Dendro only works with Water and Electro however you cant make reactions on shielded enemy, 7th Earth (no meaningful reaction or resonance),

Hydro's Amplification with Dendro's Transformative Reactions (especially Electro's Death by a thousand cuts) Is like watching fireworks on the screen. Love Hyperbloom as a reaction

I think Hydro for me takes it all the flexibility to reactions is just insane, it's almost the perfect pair with ever other element besides Anemo/Geo as well Hydro it has the most variety for characters from support/buffer to a DPS unit. I guess Hydro for me just is the all around element to set up and provide that comfort to all players. But I wish Geo would be better in the future and has more variety like Dendro besides Crystalized I hope they make viable reactions to Geo.

1. Cryo - 2 amazing reactions (freeze and melt), an amazing altifact set that boosts crit rate and a great resonance that gives crit rate. Literally every character in the Cryo section (besides Aloy maybe) has utility. They also have an incredibly niche but INSANE Cryo support, Shenhe. They MIGHT get a reaction with Dendro in the future, so who knows how good that might be. 2. Anemo - Anemo has CC, Swirl and probably the best artifact set in the game. Most of the Anemo characters also have other special things in their kits, like healing, EM buffing and elemental damage buffing. 3. Hydro - Hydro is another utility element. It has vape and freeze as great reactions, but their artifact set is DPS-focussed. Their resonance is also kinda meh, though I think Hydro has the most HP-scaling units, so it's decent. 4. Dendro - Dendro has some nice reactions, but what it has to offer so far is not amazing. The resonance is good for mainly Dendro itself, but their artifact set makes up for that. It's great. It's very unfortunate though that you can't VV shred Dendro and you need an entire new set to shred Dendro. 5. Electro - Electro is in this overall list above Pyro, but in the DPS-department they aren't. Electro has TWO decent sets, but they're kinda situational. They had decent reactions before Dendro, but Aggravate and Spread made it so Electro is above Pyro now. The resonance is very good, giving you some energy and stuff. 6. Pyro - Yes, Pyro is low. The reason for this is because it's a pure DPS element. There are only a few characters in their roster that aren't made to be DPS. Melt and vape are great, of course, but those are both DPS reactions. Their resonance? BPS. Their artifact set? DPS. Do I even need to say more? 7. Geo - Though Geo has some great characters in its roster, the element itself isn't great. Their resonance is good, but crystallize is TERRIBLE. Their artifact set is at the moment only used on like Ningguang, and even then it's 2 pc 2 pc.

I feel like Zhongli's petrification fits the bill for a geo elemental reaction. Petrification could be triggered by applying geo on an entity that already has a geo aura.

I wish they can buff geo. It's like it is being left behind. It's even hard to break elemental shields with geo comp.

Before any one says kokomi is only a good hydro unit because of corrosion....... NO she is just a a good unit with or with out clam nor the wolfs, as a kokomi fan i am tired of that mind set

I feel like the archaic petra set 4-piece should be changed into when you pick up a crystalize shard you then deal bonus damage to enemies effected by the same element as your crystalized shield. Its just a much more reliable buff compared to giving elemental damage bonus.

Itto mono geo team is still one of my favorite team to play despite geo being bad. But given that no new geo unit incoming for a while in 3.x patches, pretty sure mihoyo have no clue how to fix it for now. A geo chongyun, debuffer, or make crystallize more relevant maybe?

I don’t understand how electro is above pyro. Electro sets up many different play styles but if we look at resonance and the base reactions pyro wins because it boosts dps the most, neither of them supply support and electro resonance gives a redundant utility beign er. Most electro units have good energy and the only reason I need it for new ones is cus mihoyo purposefully made them suck. Doings. Simple vape team is giving you more dmg and flexibility than an agg or electro charged. Hyper bloom is nice but it’s single target. Superconduct is nice but there is only one unit that benefits greatly from it and that unit is only good because they have insane multipliers. If we didn’t have Eula it’s safe to say superconduct wouldn’t be a relevant reaction. The issue with agg and spread is that it relys on low icd. That’s not an issue if almost all units in the game have it. Hu tao can vape every hit, miko while also being single target can’t proc agg on every hit. Her burst does but that’s a nuke and a multiplier is better than flat dmg bonus . Pyro does burning burgeon and melt/ vape. It’s required to initiate the two reactions with the highest individual multiplier. This makes it infinitely easier to proc and more practicle in a team comp because you aren’t worried about order as much. Xq and hu tao are a team, xq and yoimiya are a team, Klee isn’t good but same for her. 2 units make a team. Your 2 flex spots could be another hydro, an electro at no cost to your actual dps output because electro can coexist anemo, etc etc. for agg u can’t do that, maybe anemo but hydro ruins your dps, pyro ruins it, cryo is useless because it can’t react and has next to no supp abilities and is going to potentially ruin ur agg cus the electro reacts with the cryo. Electro is hot here but it’s not above pyro in base and practicle useage. Raiden Carrie’s electro, fichle Carrie’s agg. If raiden didn’t restore energy electro res would be better and electro wouldn’t be the powerhouse it is. Fichle basically has no icd but is single target so her power is limited. Another thing. Electro resonance is nice but u still need a lot of er to make it worthwhile. I wouldn’t have Ben say elector res is practical in the sense that the number of substats it gives is minuscule. And it only supply’s to electro. Pyro hydro and anemo, all give everyone a boost. That to me is much more valuable ima team comp and flexibility scenario. If u run national u may not build as much atk on raiden because u account for the atk from pyro res. These sorts of things do matter.

Hello Vars! I respect your opinion and facts, but I strongly disagree with your take on Anemo. I don't know which element should be considered stronger than another (I agree that Geo is probably the weakest if taken in a vacuum), but Anemo is addressed as the strongest element for many reasons that have nothing to do with the element itself. I'm pointing this out just because you said that you wouldn't consider the roster too much. However, you said that Anemo has the ability to do Crowd Control. Which is false. Many Anemo characters have the ability to do CCs, but that is not a consequence of them being Anemo, they're just in their kits. Swirl doesn't proc any CC and also Diluc and Zhongli have CCs in their kits. Maybe in the future we could have an Hydro character who attracts enemy at the center of a water wave. What I want to say is that Anemo ≠ Crowd Control. Anemo characters just happen to have lots of CCs, this doesn't make CCs a component of Anemo. A similar objection can be made about the fact that Anemo can proc any reaction. Sure, it can do it through Swirl, but the main means through which it can do it is Elemental Absorption. Which again, it is in the kit of certain Anemo characters. This is more debatable to be honest, I doubt we will see similar mechanics with other elements, but technically Elemental Absorption is not a feature of Anemo. It's rather a feature of Anemo characters. Anyway, it is not my intention to insult or attack you in anyway. I just want to point out some of my considerations about your video. I enjoyed the video but i kept getting confused how you ranked them as in, what was the priority in the rankings was it flexibility or just damage, reactions or whatnot? Also i do think the title miss lead me to believe this was going to be a teir list about reactions not the characters of said elements. I would encourage you to do this the way sir swag ranked countries, though he does have an analyst on the team so it might be hard to do. Great video overall, and JUUUST incase i didn't mean to harass you or nothing... People seem to be thinking anyone who has a different opinion is a villian..

Also Dendro reactions, Fishl, TF artifacts 5. Geo: Shields, insane Resonace, Zhongli, works best with itself 6. Not an Element but Physical, Wtf are these reactions 🧐💀, Eula has to be carried by her completly insane multipliers because otherwise she would be mid. (The Elements are pretty well balanced and its very debateable which element is truly "the best" Or better than another)

I feel like a great way to buff geo is to make archaic Petra part of the geo reaction. And the damage bonus scales with EM, starting with a low number like say 1% at 0 em. This will allow geo units to have a viability in the meta that is not just pure geo teams. This will make the support geo characters much stronger while not overloading geo DPS. Imagine if geo could do reactions with those high numbers, they would be insanely broken. Another potential addition could be that geo could react with itself creating its own geo shield like like the geoviships do this will allow them to not only boost their team but also themselves. ALSO, please please please, it this does ever happen ffs make it so you can gain the buff even if the geo character isnt the one on field or needs to pick it up omg.

Honestly... Hydro > Anemo Yes, Viridescent Venrer is broken, yes, crowd control is nice, and yes most of Anemo roster offer a lot of utility that other elements don't have.... That being said, Anemo by itself cannot work without supporting other elements, with Xiao being the only exception which is just one character. Hydro not only works by itself, but is the base for literally every single powerful reaction in the game: Vaporize, Freeze, Electro-charged, and now Bloom. Unlike Anemo that simply boosts other elements, Hydro is the glue that makes them work all together.
