I went down to New York city to check out the famous Union Square and Washington Square parks to see if I could Hustle some of the New York's finest hustlers!

No luck required. If you perform this "trick" twice for 12 people, you are expected to get results shown in the video. Probability of guessing 5 in a row at least once being: 1-(1-(1/2)^5)^24 = 0.53 or 53%. Assuming you spend 10 minutes with each person, it will take 2 hours of recording to get the footage you need. The only trick being to show only 6 minutes of highlights and to put on a convincing performance.
@alexpurtle7293

Ok, first, I`m not great with math. Grade 9 algerbra was the only class that I have ever failed, and my grade 12 math teacher, Mr.Wolf, was kind enough to give me 50% so I didn`t fail my second. But I always thought that chance worked exponentially ie. if it is a 50/50 chance in which you have to win the outcome 5x in a row it would be: 2x2x2x2x2 making a 1/32 chance to succeed. I have two questions; does that formula also apply to, say, dice? If I wanted to roll five 6s in a row would the result be 1/3 of 0.53? Also, does rolling one die to get three 6s in a row have the same odds as rolling three dice at once and getting three 6s? These are things that pique me, but my brain doesn`t let me figure them out!!
@alexpurtle7293
@alexpurtle7293 7 лет назад
By the way, as a post script, I chose 6 cause that`s the number you need to get on a die, in the board game Axies&Allies, after investing $$$ into research, to even let you roll again to see what research you will obtain. And if you play Axies&Allies, you know, like...yooou KNOW that what you want to roll, yet again, is......SIX!!!! Cause - yeah - Heavy Bombers fuck shit up!!!! You would not believe the amount of $$$ that I have invested into research when it should have gone to those poor soldiers that were butchered at the hands of Facist Germany and Imperial Japan!! But man, when you get those Heavy Bombers, it`s like "Fuuuuuck yooou, bitch!!"

The trick is in asking the target to hold the pawns out in front of them. When you grab someone's wrist and pull them outwards and forwards, their subconscious will resist your force more with the hand holding the object. Common mentalist trick that can be applied to other applications as well.

Incorrect, the video was edited to remove some of the wrist touching. Watch the video again, and notice that numerous times, the video skips ahead to his guess, or misleading questions, after the hands start to come from behind the person. This video editing was intentional. He also attempts to fool the viewer by asking questions, leading us to believe that he is detecting deceit. That's a misdirection.

its all about how tight he grips the piece. you always grip the piece the tightest when its the piece you are trying to hid. its why he touches and adjusts the guys arms, its to feel which hand is tighter. i got it every time as well once i figured it out. watch again. you notice it the most with the last guy. he grips the piece very tightly.

Explanation*** At 4:10 they dare another guy. you can see an old man in the back. he folds his hands when the white one is in the right hand and he puts his hands on his lap when its the left hand containing the white thing. Watch yourself to notice the oldman look and change positions. you can even see the main character look at him sometimes. GG

I can see how he did it. Most times there's a video edit after a bit of conversation and showing the guy shuffling the pawns behind his back. He cuts ahead a few seconds to when he actually makes the prediction. The few times that he doesn't cut, he shows himself touching one or both of the guy's outstretched hands. I'm pretty sure he's feeling which fist has a bulge in it, and the amount of resistance against him tightening his fist basically, so he can feel where the piece is.

Maybe not a magnet, but some kind of proximity sensor built into the piece / ring. The ring probably gives off a small electrical shock or something when it's close to the piece.

Look at the last seconds of the video. He puts the pawn in his trouser pocket. So it is a doctored pawn And it doesn't have to be a magnet. RFD Chip and a receiver in his ring would be sufficient.
