The vectors have been one of the most fun additions to Escape From Tarkov in patch 12.9. There are 2 different variants and a lot of people have questions about which one is better and which one they should use. I actually like the UMP, MDR, etc because they are guns that don't have alot of attachments. Just grab the gun slap a sight on it and start raiding

@@thishandleistaken1011 yeah, the ump is pretty bad, low fire rate, low capacity mags, almost no customization, recoil could be better for a MP and the sights dont work if you lean.

I like the ump, not useful in eft but the recoil isn't too bad and I just have a thing for low rpm guns like the ump mdr and the grease gun, I think they should buff 45 acp or atleast add better ammo, although I dont like how 9mm ap is expensive when i can just buy an ak with Bt, cheaper and more muzzle velocity, anyone else think they should make all small calibers a bit cheaper in general, I'm not seeing much point in using smgs unless you just feel like it, same with bolt actions and shotguns

@@elgringofeo9348 seems like my reply didnt get made, yeah I like it also for its low rpm and it sounds pretty satisfying but man the lean sight bug + other sights not working properly on the ump really made me not use it anymore, I hope they fix it and honestly I hope they add ump9 aswell Also low rpm guns are generally easier to control and ump is pretty sexy with the kac vertical grip, counterstrike style My nemesis are high rpm guns, i just cant ever use them properly

That's some bullshit if I've ever seen it. Vector shreds no matter what tier of armor you are wearing. You can have a hex grid and you'll still die quickly to one. A single bullet of it might not do as much damage as other meta guns, but it fires way faster and has ZERO recoil, so shooting people multiple times in the face is extremely easy and they'll go down instantly. Only thing that can counter that is a Killa helmet and who the fuck is gonna wear that. And I haven't even began talking about people legging you with it.

I died on a run with the .300 blackout and 2 vectors and level 5-6 gear I died from no energy and hydration as a scav I was really lucky to be fair but man that one hurt so much I killed 2 fully kitted guys and walked halfway through the map with blacked out limbs and my guy coughing constantly

So heres my story: i always die in pvp, so i decided to try the vector 9mm with AP ammo with a slick armor. I went from dying in every encounter to destroy everyone in 8 consecutive raids without dying 1 single time. Oh and clapped 3 guys using the 50 round mag like it was nothing. The vector is also so easy to use that i think it is the best mid/high budget weapon in the game.

I absolutely love the new vectors. As someone that ran almost all of last wipe with a kitted mpx and 7n31, I find myself grabbing the 45 vector the majority of the time now. The damage output is absolutely ridiculous, and top tier ammo is more readily available than 7n31.

Well currently its the 9mm since they locked the mags for the .45 on Mech lvl3 -_- I also think with both of the guns being so low on the recoil that aiming for max ergo is better, having 70+ feels way better that shedding like 10 recoil.

I am pretty sure they have the same ergo. It was just altered for the 9 mil one because the 50 round mag reduces ergo by quite a bit.

I'm level 4 brother. Been having a real tough time and it's my third wipe. It's nice that the 9mm Vector is available Skier L2 but the fact that good mags are max/L4 Skier, I have no hope of getting. I'll stick with AKs or M4s I guess haha.

I use just one 50rnd drum u get from quest rewards with my 9mil vector and the rest 30s because I can't buy them either...I use the 30s with the 45 and the ump havent had an issue yet since its way easier to hit ur shots with the insanely low recoil over pretty much any AR right now until ur recoil reduction etc skills level up...alot of people myself included ran around with the mp9n because the fire rate end of wipe and they only hold 30s...ur fighting close with them so the 30rnd mag is plenty capable...I dropped killa my last match yesterday with the 9mil and ap rounds...only my second wipe and I'm lvl 33 and ran 120 matches so far...probably 30 have been matches helping friends not even getting tasks done myself and just looting so if u focus on tasks u will level fast

7N31 still 2 to 3 taps when it pens, same as the .45 AP. More Damage =/= better. IDK, the 9mm just seems more practical from a price, Ammunition (don’t sleep on 6.3 and Quakemaker), Magazines, and more. The insanely high RPM on the .45 also means you’re gonna overshoot more, need to reload your 3 mags more, and leave you boned more often. 900 RPM is still a lot, but it’s gonna leave you with more ammo in your mags and less reloading of the magazines.

i greatly prefer the 9mm for the lower rate of fire, lower recoil, and 50rnd drums. problem i see with the 45 cal gun is if you roll up on a 2 man it will likely use up your entire mag to kill one guy leaving you needing to reload before engaging his buddy. at 950 rpm the 9mm gun is fast but not too fast as to make it hard to do shorter bursts and the 50 round drum leaves ammo for the second guy.

Running a normal unmoded 9mm vector with pzt ammo and a bunch of 33 round mags is very cheap and quite effective as long as you can aim chest/head (especially this early wipe). Got my first squad wipe against 2 players with level 4 armor/helmet, and 2 with level 3/3 with pzt ammo, just empty a mag in each at chest/head level. (even if you hit an arm the amount of rounds you dump can easily kill someone)

I think the size of these will make them come back in insurance fairly often. 3x4 is a huge size for a full gun and I know when I'm looting I'll probably just end up stripping it for parts instead of taking the whole thing.

Take the mag & suppressor out and fold the stock. Then it’s a 2x2 and can fit easily in rigs.

You forgot some importent points about the ammo! .45 ammo is Subsonic. This makes the .45 ammo much harder to use because it hase insane drop. And not only that, this makes the 9mm also better at shooting at moving targets. This, and the fact, that the 9mm has much less recoile and is basicaly a laserbeam, makes the 9mm much much better at mid to long range situations. Also, the 9mm crafts are realy good crafts all wipe long.

I mean you won't do shooter born in heaven with a vector, and i don't see why you would use it anywhere else other than labs and factory, so the 45 being strong af and the small recoil difference really makes it much stronger and better overall, this is just my opinion tho.

The subsonic ammo also makes for an extremely quiet round when suppressed. So thats also another advantage for the .45

if you're running suppressor and money is no issue, the .45 one is just better in this game, because subs have a big upset in that they make the gun with suppressor actually mega-quiet, so not only will they not hear where you're shooting from, it kills faster, so it's more effective in combat, it's just the 9mm version is more "obtainable" to most players.

They said it would be too much work for a feature that would be rarely used. They said that its based on the fact that "checking thr chamber" animation took a while to make for every gun, but its almost never used because everyone would rather check the mag instead.

Man I always thought the .45 ACP caliber was cool, especially the 1911 which could "put a hole in Superman" (kudos if you know that reference). I was kind of disappointed when I tried the caliber with the UMP, but maybe its the UMP which was underwhelming, not the caliber. Vectors are so cool you can't help but wanna take it out for a spin.

I got my hands on 4 30rnd .45 mags so I got the vector to give it a shot and OOF It does it's job and then some. Toss some AP in there and you can nearly hear the panic in the enemies as you approach XD And since everyone and their mom is running the 9mm vector with AP rounds the .45 AP ammo ends up being a good bit cheaper (the times I checked) Edit: btw the battlebuddy app says the .45 AP has both better pen and better damage vs the 9mm top tier ammo

.45 acp variant has too much going against it for its relative powerlevel to really compete. By the time you can be buying and running it just from traders, you also have access to p90s with good ammo, which is more cost efficient, has bigger mags, and just as accurate. It might be the new god gun for leg meta though, i think it has the new fastest non headshot/torso ttk. I'd still opt for the 9mm version though, quakemaker + 950rpm is more than enough to dumpster anybody's legs before they even have time to say "ouch".

I feel like the 9mm is superior ... - Choice of mags is larger : you can get very cheap 33 round mags in high quantity per refill as well as 50 round mags if you're willing to put a little more money in it while the Vector 45 can only have 3 mags of 30 rounds per refill ; - Larger mags (50 vs 30) makes it more forgivable compared to .45 ; - Paired with a slightly lower fire rate, it makes the 9mm even more forgivable, it allows to down whole squads and to put a lot of pressure without reloading ; - 9mm 7N31 has a better pen than 45 ACP AP ; - 9mm can also use an intermediary round to 9mm Pst gzh and 9mm 7N31 : the AP 6.3 round which can be an interesting choice if you don't want to put too much money in your ammo whereas 45 ACP only has the basic .45 ACP FMJ or the .45 ACP AP ; - 9mm also has less recoil, allowing for actual laser-like recoil. The .45 ACP is still very good but the 9mm is totally viable to use in full auto at 100 meters while the .45 ACP will struggle a little bit.

Ok I just found out there was a .45 vector and my immediate concern was that there are NO extended mags, that I could see using the Flea Market and Linked Search. Immediately dropped interest. There was no suppressor I saw for the barrel. I don't see the point to buying this weapon over the regular vector and putting some 7N31 or AP 6.3 if money is no object.

That's the issue with it. The 45 vector hits really hard for an smg but but if you don't have good clear target you drop the mag in 1 second. The need to add a 45 glock imo and have the same extended mags for it maybe a little pricer but needed for the 45 vector.

You can suppress it and there are 30 rounds mags for it. Also 45 acp rip at 1100 round per minute is the highest dps you can get in tarkov.

The ergonomics comparison doesn't make a lot of sense because of the 50 rounds mag, they decreased the 9mm Vector ergonomics.

I am rocking the 9mm with AP and 50rnd mags rn. The .45 just has too small mags & the firerate is overkill. But I do love the vector, put a silencer, a optic & a ergo grip on it and you have a monster, not much modding to be done. Even works great on woods.

When he was talking about using AP 6.3 late last wipe and going after faces... Man I dunno how you guys do it. I can barely hit a guy's body *normally*, much less have any hope whatsoever of hitting a tiny little face area. I mean it's just a few frickin pixels unless you're a foot away from them. God I'm so fail at this game 😢

Just run offline raids and practice your aim. You have all the tools available to train and be better, only thing stopping you is yourself

Vector for me. Higher fire rate and might be cheaper. From my experience people don't loot them so much (although they are new weapons) since they are not that expansive and you usually have backpack stuffed with barter items that have much higher per slot price. We will see in a few weeks, after price drops and people will learn that you can fold and remove mag from vectors...

I honestly wish smaller calibers were cheaper and easier to get, it's really annoying to get a modded mp5 since its expensive to then buy the expensive ammo when I can get a ak with bt, it's cheaper and has more muzzle velocity so I dont see the point in using a SMG, shotgun, or bolt action unless you just feel like it, the game seems to push you away from alot of the guns and towards m4s and AKs, I buy an SMG and I can only think "this is gonna get me killed, but damn I wanna use it anyway"

Trying to figure out how an kitted mp5 is expensive?? If I wasnt running an HK last wipe all I ran was the MPX...the vectors are so much cheaper to run it doesnt really make sense right now...the gun you use fits your playstyle and the map you run most...you like bushes?

Killing scavs, go to a raid kill 10 scavs and survive will get a slot of xp. To bad it seems like scavs spawns are fucked this patch

Jesse you can't be sleeping on the leg meta potential with .45 rip in the vector, it beats the time to kill on the m4 and has similar time to kill to other meta guns like the FAL and MP7.
