Thank you for this video!!! This was my exact issue with my microwave. It's a KitchenAid but similar design. You saved me money from having a person come fix it.
Thank you for this video! It really saved me tonight. I’m a single lady homeowner with no one to ask for help. Everytime something breaks in this house, I’m the one rolling up their sleeves. Just replaced my garbage disposal and now the darn microwave door wouldn’t close. Your video was quick and to the point. Thanks again!!
This is exactly what happened to my microwave. Thank you so much for putting this video out! How many kids y’all think have pushed those in and their microwave broke ? Mine did! Lol thank goodness I found this video. Tryin to fix it now
Thank you man! I have zero handyman skills and literally was poking the latch with tweezers. Found this video, 3 screws later it was done. 5 minutes. Zero skills. I would’ve been hitting it with a rock for hours if I didn’t find this video
Thank for this video! I just had the exact same problem with this model of microwave, but your clear step by step instructions helped me to resolve it!
Thank you so much!! I was dreading having to unmount it and taking it apart/replacing parts. We were without the use of it for 2 weeks before I decided to do a search. Appreciate this!!
Well 4 years ago you uploaded this video hoping to help others and you have succeeded! 4 years 40,000 views later and this video is still helping many I’m sure, but it didn’t help me it educated me and that knowledge will last for a very long time! My unit Is a whirlpool over the stove with fan MODEL-WMH53520CW-4. Which was almost the same only difference I saw was the screw in the front in between the LCD screen at top and the keypad under it. But with mine the keypad and LCD screen are 1 piece so instead of reaching the middle screw in the video from under the LCD screen you have to go from the top of the LCD screen that’s wide open after taking the top plastic piece that goes across the top off and you will get to the screw behind the LCD screen from the top on an angle still very easy. Then you push up on the LCD KEYPAD and it will come off. And the next thing that was different between the one in the video and mine it didn’t have that black cover piece behind it so was even easier to get back their and I let the LCD screen & number pad just hang backwards without removing any wire plugs which was still plenty of room to get you’re hand on each latch holder and reset them to fix the issue and if not for you’re vid I could of taken it apart and would have no clue how to reset them because I tried thinking about what I saw in you’re video but couldn’t figure it out so had to watch that part of you’re vid like 3 times in a row to get it right and I figured it out. And to put it back together it takes 2 minutes and I only had to remove 3 screws to begin with. Now she is back to normal working great but I won’t lie I was the reason it broke to begin with because sometimes I would open the microwave door and it would take like 2 second for the light to come on. So I thought maybe there’s something in the holes that lock the door so I slid a flathead screwdriver in each hole and heard a click and then thought that’s not good and after I popped both I tried to close the door but it wouldn’t work and I knew right away it was because I closed them clips. So I learned never do that again but I just wanna say thank you for uploading this vid because money is to tight right now to call a repair man especially for something that is a super easy fix. But without you’re video I would of had no chance and might have called a repair man that would of been like $2-$300 easily! So thank you once again!
OMG, I APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS!!! The microwave went out on Christmas Eve. I was able to follow your video and fix it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
dude... thanks for posting this I'm at an airbnb and their fucking microwave kept saying some door/open close error... the door would close fine, but I couldn't get it to stop so I checked online and the only thing people were talking about was some kind of circuit board error... i started messing with the little latches from the outside and ended up pushing them in entirely... and now the door wouldn't close at all. found your video, bought a screwdriver and fixed it myself and the microwave now operates fine... saved me from having to pay them for damages
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!❤❤im house sitting and accidentally pushed those door locks in, I thought I was gonna have to buy a new $500 microwave for my mother in law but just a few screws and pushing those things back in and BAM!! FIXED🫶
I did exactly this without unplugging anything in the microwave. I unplugged the power and fixed the door but now it won’t turn on at all. Nothing on the circuit board of micro wave was unplugged
my microwave has been in the same condition for a couple of months. I bought it under 2 years ago. I have been going without one and found out that I really need one. I was having trouble when I shut it, the latch would not catch, so I tried to clean the latch out and made it worse by pushing the latch in! I have been looking for one on sale but even on sale they are almost 400$ for the sensor cook model. I almost bought one but was short of cash. I'm sure glad I saw this first! I hope it solves the original problem of the door latch not wanting to catch, but even if it doesn't, it buys me some time before I have to spend all of that money.
If I don’t unplug any wires do I still have to unplug from wall? I can see the switch without unplugging any wires. Just asking because my microwave isn’t just a plug in, it’s wired in and I’m not sure how to mess with those.
@@home692 That would be good. I figured it out though. Watching this video helped the disassembling. From there it took I google a image of the way it looked like it was in prior and wala, that is how i got it. But you are the man. If you post a vid of how to put springs back on with good keywords im pretty sure it will many others. Check out KAIVPRODS just networking now.
