When I accelerate I hear a whistling noise on my driver side. Also at idle it runs rough and it feels like its misfiring sometime. Could it be my pcv vacuum hose.
The PCV vacuum hose is part of the system so if you’re getting all these problems most likely the whole housing needs to be changed if you have the T5 engine… in these particular engines you can’t simply change out the PCV valve. It’s part of the PCV valve and oil filter housing. Nine out of 10 times, either the PCV valve is dirty and clogged or the PCV diaphragm is torn. Changing out the hose or the diaphragm may help for a little while but changing the valve is usually needed also and it’s a fairly extensive job.(on the T5 engines) I have a 2009 Volvo S 40 T5 R-design which is turbo. I’ll be finishing mine on Thursday when my new PC valve/Oil filter housing and hardware get here…😁
Also, if you’re getting any vacuum suction when you go to take the oil cap off then you better do it soon otherwise it creates such a high vacuum pressure on the engine seals that you could start to destroy your motor seals…
