So far I'm very happy with the performance of the MX sport. I've started testing and familiarizing myself with all of the features to ensure maximum performance in the field. The versatility of this machine makes it seem like a good value, and I'm looking forward to giving it a good work out!

Thanks for taking the time Carolina Coin Hunter, much appreciated. That MX sport is showing quite the potential, would be interesting to try it by your beaches and compare it to your AT pro. An AT Pro vs MXS would be most interesting in depth speed recovery and wet salty sand depth !

+Julio P I'll probably end up doing that. I've done some testing already, but not on film yet. I'm making sure everything is equal and fair to both machines. So far the MX sport is deeper than the AT Pro in my ground. That's using just the stock coin mode. In relic mode you have the advantage of disc and all metals at the same time. There it has a big advantage due to the AT Pro not having a true all metals mode. The AT's recovery speed is so fast in Pro mode, not much can touch that. The MX Sport is pretty fast though. It actually does the best with the 20 tone mode so far. As far as the salt goes, I'll have to take a trip as soon as I can to test that out, but with the salt subtraction that White's uses It should perform better. Only testing will show for sure though. I just purchased one based on your reviews. It was between this and the AT Pro. I think I'm gonna be very happy with it. I love getting in water and couldn't with my F75 LTD. the depth of this machine might just make me a one machine guy.

I've had my MX Sport out at the beach 3 days in a row now. Quite a step up from a Garrett Ace 150 HAHA! As this is my first VLF detector, it's been somewhat puzzling, somewhat frustrating, but overall a lot of fun learning this machine. Although I've pulled more coins (13 pennies and a dime) in 30 minutes around the base of an oak tree in my front yard, than I have from the beach in 3 days (only 4 pennies, a nickel and a quarter) I have been finding all the junk associated with the good stuff - pull tabs, bottle caps etc. so, I guess I'm figuring it out to some extent. Look forward to possibly picking up some tips from you regarding this machine, and VLF detectors in general. thanks for posting!

It's quite a bit deeper on the lower conductors. In all metals It should be even deeper.

I can't wait to see more of your testing on the MX Sport. I have been using an Ace 250 for the last few years and I would like to buy a more advanced, deeper machine. Have you done any air tests on the V3 as well?

Yea. I have a V3I and its very deep. I've had the etrac and have the F75. So far the V3i is the deepest in my ground.

Using the standard 950 coil I dig UK half penny's at over 12" and penny's close to 14" with the 12" Coil and the Gain set between 6 to 7, " I still have 6 more Numbers to Go",

if you use the 15" coil you can expect to hit coins over 2tf deep!

On the screen what is the MAX depth reading set to in inches? Does it bottom out at 12"

Can you run a test on all metal mode, also can you discrim out iron foil and so on?
