Robyn was one of the people helping to cover it up. Making sure she was on time for events, smoothing things over when Whit would cancel last minute etc. She did a good job coz we barely heard about Whitney's drug problem before 1999. I guess from 1999, Whitney started to have alot of people around her so Robyn did not have access like before and the cracks began to show.
I truly agree that Robyn was extremely strong to be having Whitney’s back and enduring all of that and; also her own struggles with drugs and her losing her loved ones.

Her brothers enabled her, and Bobby abused her, cheated on her, and used drugs with her, and he ran Robin away, plus the pressures of fame. The tabloids would not stop exploiting her, and lying on her. That greedy Clive Davis kept pressuring her to preform. She was clearly not ready to do that last tour. I think when Whitney decided to tell the truth about the love affair between her and Robyn was a bad idea. Yeah it was good because she told Bobby the truth, but on the other side Bobby felt like she was using him to cover it. That's why he became abusive, so angry and started to disrespect her (I'm not justifying his behaviour). I truly believe that she loved and was in love with him. She loved Robyn too, but she didn't want to stay in "lesbian relationship" and she did everything to sabotage the love relationship and not the friendship. She didn't divorce Bobby earlier maybe because she was afraid that he would tell the world about that. Everything became a trap for her and the only way to escape was the drugs. This is my opinion!
Before the marriage, he heard the rumours like everyone else but never asked her and she did not volunteer the information either. Her silence made it seem like she had something to hide making him feel used when she eventually told him. Their relationship was built on dishonesty and I believe Bobby punished her for that throughout the years...
@@Thegazelle1000 there were times when I felt his poor behavior was down to immaturity, boredom, jealousy... But I've come to realize it was deeper than that. Some of the things he did appear to be deliberate. Once when whit was at an awards show about to perform he was backstage physically fighting. Pastor Shirley ceasar had to quietly pull him to the side and told him he's an extension of his wife and this wasn't a good look.

Bobby walks out the casino back to the hotel with the money . Now the cops are looking for him. When they get hold of him to hand the money back, whitney is livid. They start arguing . These are just a handful of reported embarrassing times for whitney, but it was constant.... He didn't seem to mind.

One of the things that infuriated Whitney was the media always in her business. Wendy Williams was constantly on her case. To hear Wendy talk about her own marriage as she promotes her biopic is crazy as it was no different than Whitney's (minus the physical abuse).
Love me some Nippy, as all the world of fans did and still do... but I don't think she believed or knew how much we did until very late in her life and career. All of the beauty, talent, charm and elegance in the world can only hide a sickness like Addiction for so long. It is a disease that allows you to believe you're in control, if not addressed proper and directly. Everyone who befriended, truly cared and loved her wanted to save her, but even her wounded, addicted soul knew that... only Jesus saves and helps those who help themselves. I'm thankful that my family members realized this before succumbing.

While her brother Michael was wrong for introducing his young sister to drugs, her addiction cannot be blamed on others. In a lot cases with her it was self-medication as a buffer to the painful moments she endured and suffered through her life. In other times, it was relaxation, recreation and fun for her. She said, in the now infamous Diane Sawyer interview, that she was her devil. If an addict is not ready to stop getting high, they won't. When they are ready, it has to be for themselves ...not their family or friends ... not the job ...not the fans, but for themselves because they are tired.
Very true....I've lost count of the number of people who asked her to quit drugs and get it together, but she always refused. She prolly had plans to give it up for good but that day never came.

I know that many people don’t want to believe it. But Whitney (to me) was not even bi. She was a lesbian. She only stayed with Bobby so long to keep the heterosexual image. Like Whitney, Wendy stayed with her husband. While the marriage helped to quieten down the gay rumours, both women appeared to stay in the marriage to save face.

She preferred men and unfortunately getting high. I believe Robyn really tried to help and save her, but Whitney pushed her away too, by allowing her husband to run her away. They tried to get Natalie Cole help and sponsor her, but she declined and said, "Whit likes to have too much fun... I'll mess around and lose my sobriety!" She said it jokingly, but was very serious.
Lol...I believe Natalie was serious too. When Bobby came out of prison he was clean but in no time he started using again. Bobby didnt have money which means Whitney was funding the habit.
