Brigid not only has aspects as a Celtic goddess an a Catholic saint, but also as a Voodoo loa, Maman Bridgette. Like her Celtic version, she is the protector of women and a healer. She also is the guardian of cemeteries and the escort of the dead. One of her symbols, hot peppers, is probably is a nod to Brigid's fire symbolism.

And I. Don't want to disrespect my Momma and her Parents but they've passed one and they in spirit are with me and know who I am. And most of ower family heritage and lineage and ansestors come from the UK all over the UK until some decided to move to the U.S. and that is where I live and am from. Amazing video. Brigid is the deity I work with for passion, creativity, writing, and she also inspired me to start making candles. I got the idea right before last Imbolc after I left a draining job-- before I found out about her. I connected the dots a few weeks later. I think she's always been with me in all my creative and healing endeavors, I just didn't realize it before. Anyway, I would looove to see you do videos on The Morrigan (my Patroness) and Nemetona (my meditation and inner sacred grove visualization deity). Your videos are always beautifully done and informative, so I'd be stoked to see what you conjure up with those! Thank you for your content!

Lovely to find your channel. I have been observing Celtic Rituals for many years now. My altar is continually changing and includes Celtic Crosses and seasonally appropriate flowers and food offerings and candles. I live next door to a small forest park with a little stream. I often gather water from there along with greens and branches .This year it is still cold so I will get snow drops and pussywillows from the Garden Center. In regards to the representation of Triple Goddesses, I think the magic of the "trifoil" is potent in spiral symbolism throughout Europe. The 3 could simply be the maiden, mother and crone. The Trinity has Christian aspects of course and 3's often refer to the 3 branches of the Tree of Life and the initial 3 emanations of the Kabala Tree. I am going to do some research on this. Thank you for this beautiful video, I am putting my homemade Brigid Cross on my front door and also on the Imbolc Alter.❤🙏

I came here to say the same, after watching the video. I had read about the "Divine Crone" earlier today, looking into Inbolc. I was discussing this with my adult daughter, about the seasonal event (halfway between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox) and the associated lore. Three was always a big deal in Indo-European culture I think. 1 is balanced. 2 is balanced. 3 is imbalance, action, change... magic? Religious imagery, for sure, across cultures, you will see the number 3. Anyway, the Maiden (youth) Mother (mature woman) Crone (Wise Elderly Woman) reflects the seasons. Imbolc is the transition, or the start of, from Autumn/Winter Crone, back to the Spring, Youthful "Maiden" (shouldn't be mixed up with the virginity fetish of some religions). ? Am I getting this? Most of these things were covered well in the video above, nicely.

Nice video Scarlet, the triple goddesses may represent Maiden, Mother, and Crone. The Norns also came in threes but they were not goddesses and as far as anyone knows we're not worshiped. Within Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christianity especially, Candlemas is celebrated on February 2nd (Catholic/Western), February 15th (Orthodox). Another late Winter celebration (late Feb/early March) is Maslenitsa which is Russian and has Eastern Slavic pagan roots, this celebration is much like a Russian Mardi Gras prior to Lent.

Brigid often comes to me in my dreams. Depending on her form i call her Mother, Brigid or sister. If she isn't there but wants me to know she is about her oxen or ram are there. When she first came to me she sat down with me at a table and asked me to choose 3 things, i chose a pork dish, an apple and a chalice of water. She asked me to explain my choices and then said tell your friend Tracey i like you and tell her of this dream. She left and when i told Tracey she was speechless. I keep a little alter for her and usually have an offering on it. I was recently asked my her to introduce a friend of mine who is my yoga instructor and Reike go to. I am glad i did. i think one of the interesting things in our tradition (uralic) is that most of the gods have parents, even mr. blue sky himself has a Heavenly mother.. so you can never really say that a male god is the oldest (because you´d only be half right). of course the same is true for goddesses.. all of them have mothers, and more importantly most have daughters. so instead of "eternally" worshipping the same goddess i think we´re supposed to find one the daughters so that they can take the place of the mother goddess (which of course all comes from ancestor worship, at some point no one would remember who the oldest people were). that way the tradition both continues and renews itself. or to take the opposite argument.. some deities do seem to live forever.. for example the fire goddess (Tule emä, fire mother) who is renewed from all the new home fires (who are regarded as her daughters). so which way is the right way.. neither, both, all :)

I think she was a strong, bold woman the people looked up to. When she passed on , then they made her a marter. I think most mythology characters is made from real people strengths in their time. Time where is was not allow to have these strengths, but it changed everything and gave hope to others. Hope to live another day in a narcissists , male dominance world. Think about it. Parts of the world is and has been ruled by narcissists, masculinity men and women. They don't want to accept their feminine side and balance both energies in them. That's why the world is in chaos. So hail to all the men and women whom has came before us, and will come after. Men and women accept their feminine energy and balance it with their masculine energy. Bless it be.

Isaiah55:6&7,"Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts.Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." Repent, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior today. This is God's invitation for redemption, Jesus loves you so much and he is the only WAY to eternity.God bless you
