Who is THE BEST Repentance Character? 

I watched your ab+ tier list way back, I left a long comment on it with my own placements (won't exist anymore since I remade my YT account), but I liked that list because, while its obviously a given that I wouldn't agree with every placement, I did agree with most of them, and the placements I did disagree with I could still see why you would put them where you did. In other words, there were no egregiously bad placements, which is honestly a rarity for isaac tier lists. Many isaac character tier lists are just fun rankings, and theres nothing wrong with those, but its not what I was interested in, and then when I finally find a list based on character strength, there is usually mis-info or just shocking placements. For example, a very popular character viability list for AB+ said that the lost starts with a speed upgrade, and put lost in like mid tier... he doesn't start with a speed upgrade lol. They also said even with the speed up pill, maggy is still slower than average... she's not, she reaches 1.00 speed, and in fact because you have a guaranteed identified speed up pill, she actually gains speed easier than most characters lol. Your list iirc had 1 mistake about lucky foot improving the rate at finding special items, but that is very forgivable when the rest of the list had correct facts and good logic behind the placements. Anyway, was kinda cool to get recommended this tier list way later, click on it and then immediately recognize you were the same guy who made literally the only AB+ tier list I thought was good lol. And happy to say the same is true for this list, the only real standout placements I disagree with are tlaz, which I mentioned in another comment, tlilith, who I think is in contention with teve as best character in the game, she's got azazel early game room clearing but without the weakness against late game bosses, and t???, which honestly might just be a case of me not liking the character or not finding him fun, but I think the poops are too gimmicky and overrated and is NOT worth the really bad starting tear rate and speed and only having soul hearts. I really like how you are seemingly the only person who uploads a character tier list video that understands that having extremely limited / no health will automatically make a character the worst in the game. So many people saying the lost is good, or tlost is good, or tkeeper is one I see a lot. And sure, tkeeper gets really op, tlost gets really op, but you know how many OP runs I've had die as a character with health, even say J+E? Not many, OP runs don't die easily. You know how many OP runs I've had die as tkeeper or tlost? A lot. If you can die despite having many of the best items in the game, you are an unreliable character, its really annoying that people don't seem to understand that but its nice when someone does agree with it cause sometimes I feel crazy for saying tkeeper is low tier when everyone seems to disagree lol.

I think maggie is very strong in the early game because you can get 2 angel items on b1 without entering any room outside the sac room

There’s some absolutely spicy hot takes on this list but I respect it tbh. Especially in a game like this, everyone’s gonna have different opinions on what they find fun and not fun to play.

Putting lost in d tier is diabolical you get free flight, free curse rooms, spectral tears, free devil room, free perfection, and a 2 charge d6

I think you might have misunderstood tlaz a bit, flip doesn't give you an option like tisaac does, because you actually get to take both items if you have the charge. It basically makes every item room like a J+E alt path item room, except the 2nd item isn't blind and also it can be used in shops, angel rooms, secret room, and devil deals. In devil deals (and shops too), you only need to pay for one side of the items, so you can buy them all, flip, and get a whole set of devil items for free. Because you actually get both items, you don't have a 50/50 item split compared to normal characters, because you are able to take extra items. Also, the dead lazarus form (the one that starts with soul hearts) has an inherent 1.5x damage multiplier, which is higher than Judas' damage multiplier, and equal with the magic mush damage multiplier. Additionally, many utility / support items work between both forms. The character definitely appreciates minmaxing and they are GOD AWFUL for boss rush / hush marks, but if I'm not going for a rush mark then I find this character is easily a B tier at worst imo. I kinda see them as the J+E double character gimmick, but done well. Although before the flip buff, where it literally was just a straight 50/50 item split with no advantage, you could honestly make a very strong argument for them being the worst character in the game, I have no idea how I completed all their completion marks pre buff lol (I def found tjacob easier and tlost I think I technically had more total deaths but since those runs die faster I'm pretty sure that overall tlost took me less time).

im shocked forgotten is so low, i love him, he's my main in most runs, id argue his health isnt cut in half as long as u really know how to utilize his halves equally- fighting delirium was suuper fun figuring out when to switch when i only had 1 heart per side (died with 9 lives- funny thing was,,, the first fight with him was my first death, and he killed me during his death animation. I was so pissed)

I would say lost goes in B next to Cain. He gets free curse rooms, free devil deals, and eternal D6 removes all the bad items from the pool, because when you reroll something, it’s a bad item you don’t want like breakfast, so you either gain a better item, or lose an item that would have done nothing

I personally would put Bethany at S tier. I save up all my soul hearts for all the final bosses and it makes it an easy win

I think you messed up with Tainted Cain, you admitted yourself that while you don't find it fun and it taking hours he is completely broken and objectively the most powerful. You don't even need a crafting guide or EID, with random crafting you will still get so many items your stats and tears will go goofy and with them you become a god who spends half an hour on each floor after clearing it.

Biggest crimes in this video: T. Keeper and Lost being so low T. Keeper runs are insane, on average you get more items than with any other character, you just need a bit of luck. Even with average luck, since the shops give you a bunch of options that you can choose from, you usually still get decent items for the run. Not only that, but you get quadruple shot for free. Only negative is his coin hearts and low fire rate, but still great character. Lost is great in general, free devil deals is amazing as well as free curse rooms. Free flight comes a long way, really helpful in a run. Spectral tears are a nice bonus too. Eternal d1 is a great item too, though it can blow up in your face if you don't have good luck. Sure, he can die easily, but I genuinely feel like all those bonuses make it worth it (especially when you are already proficient at Isaac and can easily avoid any non-bullshitty damage). Unpopular opinions: T. Jacob is actually pretty good, the only problem with him is that you need to pay attention constantly which can be annoying. The positives are pretty great: free devil deals or flight by just deliberately changing into ghost form, additional damage from esau, above average character stats. His birthright is horrid though. Jacob and Esau are good too, they deal insane damage from the beginning since they are two characters at once. When you only choose alt paths, you get insane amounts of items, since you can choose the two options simultaneously. The only negative is that you need to ration hp ups which usually come from boss rooms amongst the characters as well as other hp ups and soul/black hearts. Its so easy sometimes to be in a situation where one character has a lot of hp while the other is almost dying, which fucks up the run. Outside of that, he performs pretty good. Popular opinion: T. Lazarus should be at the bottom of the list, the most annoying character in the game

here is where my opinion on tainted Isaac will be, until I have unlocked him. This is from what I’ve seen. I hate him, with all of my heart. You sacrifice rerolling multiple times to reroll every item you find back and forth. And that itself makes Tainted Isaac a nerf, with less room to hold items anyways. This is my opinion on him FOR NOW, so no critique. Only once I unlock him will I update the comment.

I honestly think Jacob and Esau is really fun, literally just go alt path but don't go to corpse and take Angel deals. Double items can lead to some vert strong runs. There are absolutely some really awkward situations you can get in with desyncs, especially if one has flight and the other doesn't, but I think the character is a very cool concept and decently fun to play. (Greedier mode is a BITCH though)

Judas gets 8.71 damage with Belial at the start AND gets a x1.35 damage for the entire run. Samson has 9.5 damage if he gets hit 6 times and no damage multiplier. I think putting him above Judas is wrong, considering Judas also gets deal chance Blue baby now gets devil deals way cheaper, so I would even say they are better for him. I dunno if it was changed before or after this video, but I would still point that out. Still I would call him a D tier character because you basically can't use blood donations, devil beggars, curse rooms and sacrifice rooms are not as worth it.

T. Judas I believe is one of, if not the strongest character in the game. I honestly believe a good enough player can go a whole run without getting hit because of Dark Arts. Maybe I’m overselling him, but I’ve had runs that got all the way to Mother or Delirium that had no right of getting there, let alone winning, all because of Dark Arts as a get out of jail free card every few seconds

how you rank tainted keeper that low, he's S tier, you can break the game with a single item (steam sale), recover heath by killing enemies, he starts with quad shot, and barely infinite sac rooms, just broken af

I absolutely have disagreements in this video (I think lost is actually arguably top tier due to being able to take a hit once per room) but overall respect your options.

J+E I think isn't as bad as you gave them credit, at least you putting them below ??? as they have a high damage output, access to red hearts and double the capacity for active items, trinkets and consumables. Twice the hitbox and getting used to controlling both is definitely a disadvantage but it's outweighed by the advantages. At least compared with the advantage of flies from poop against having no red health. Love to ??? and J+E

Hi! This was a pretty fun video to watch while playing isaac, but i do disagree strongly with a lot of your points. (Also you make way too big of a deal about having red hearts, most of the time you're trying to preserve the few soul hearts you have to preserve devil/angel chances, so the red hearts don't matter that much, mostly for IV/Sacrifice/Devil Beggars, which are all important, but it's a fair tradeoff for some characters. Because of that you underrated most of the soul heart characters) Maggy: 2:02 That's a crazy statement to me, starting with a full health pill allows you to easily abuse the first sacrifice room you find, potentially getting 2 angel items with only her starting items and maybe a complete angel key + soul hearts, if you can get enough heart pickups and charges is insanely good. Also, starting with a health pill means that every later one you find is already identified, meaning you can easily do it again later. Cain: I think he should be at least A tier. Starting with 2 health is really not a big deal, and you forgot to mention that he starts with an 1.2x multiplier. Judas: I agree, but Book of Belial increases both Devil and Angel chances, so with his 1 health and angel meta, I would argue that he's more of an angel character. Samson: That's incredibly overrating Samsom. Bloody lust is a good item, don't get me wrong, but it's really not much compared to what other characters have. 6:21 Bloody lust caps at a flat +6 damage after 12 stacks, meaning at best you're getting to 9.5 without any items, if you can find and IV machine of similar. Judas, because of his 1.35x inherent damage multiplier and Book of Belial, can get to 8.71 without anything else, so I wouldn't describe that as much higher, as Judas scales way better because of the multiplier. Blue Baby: He gets Devil deals with normal prices but with soul hearts. He's much better at using them, as soul hearts are much easier to find than heart containers. Having no red hearts is not great because no IV/Devil Beggars, but you're definetly making it seem much worse than it actually is. Apollyon: tbh, that's the reason I'm writing this. Void is an absolutely crazy item, using it on active items is almost always bad, you correctly identified that having 6 charges means you can't efecctively use them, so you're better off only using it on passive items. Some math for you, there are 6 stats affected by void, so the chance you're getting a tears up/damage is (1 - (4/6 * 3/5)) = 3/5. So there's a 60% chance you're getting a +1 Damage or +0.5 Tears up, which is an average quality 3 item AND another stat up, so most of the time void is like rerolling any item you find, including shop items, into an stapler/screw or potentially better, it's incredibly consistent, he can be a bit boring cause you'll have a lot of stats and not many effects, but he's definetly incredibly strong. Also, tears up from void ignores the hard cap at 5, meaning you can easily reach 6/7 tears in an average apollyon run if you're playing properly. Lilith: I think you underrated Cambian Conception, it's not hard to get 2 or 3 procs out of it on a run, and if you get Incubus/Twisted Pair, it's just a free win, so (1 - (6/8 * 5/7 * 4/6)) ~ 64% chance, and that's even ignoring Demon Baby, Succubus and Lil Abadddon which are all A+ Tier items, especially with Box of Friends. Also, BFFs! is just a straight up better Cricket's Head for her, she's easily A tier without considering greed mode because who cares. Lost: I don't know how you can put him on D, he obviously has a lot going for him - Early Flight/Spectral, Eternal D6, Free devil deals, curse rooms, boss challenge rooms - If you correctly path, Basement I > Basement II > Downpour II > Caves II > Mines II > Mausoleum I/II, you get roughly 4 more boss items, 1 knife familiar, 1 or 2 treasure room items, depending if you choose to reroll your first knife piece. Having mantle is most of the time all you need until the late game bosses, and you get much stronger than average until reaching that point. He's definetly not bottom tier, I would say at least a B. J+E: I agree, they suck so bad lol. T. Isaac: I think he's slightly better than normal Isaac, cause you have your active item slot is freed up, and its easier to find his birthright, but your analysis was pretty fair, I can see it going both ways. T. Maggy: I Think you are not giving her enought credit. Self damage sinergies are incredibly good for her, you don't lose devil/angel chances unless you take damage on your first 2 hearts, IV/Sacrifice are much easier with her, especially getting blood bags, and her boss damage is not as bad as you make it seem if your using the hugs properly. T. Apollyon: Your analysis is completly right, but his definetly not better that his regular counterpart, he's really good, but not better. T. Lazarus: Ok, they are not a strong character, and I would say they are the hardest characters to play - correctly splitting items and hearts, managing flip charges, and playing with limited items, can be really tough - but I wouldn't say they are that bad. T. Judas: There's a reason he can't have red hearts. Dark Arts it's not just a massive damage up, it's invincibility, AoE damage, positioning, free curse rooms, and did I say it's invincibility? he's incredibly strong, if you would have to play a run with no items, T. Judas is definetly the one, there are a lot of videos of people beating hush/delirium exactly with this condition. T. Jacob: Dark Esau ignores boss armor, which means he does an absurd amount of damage from early to late game, if you're playing it properly he's really strong even with no items, you also get free devil deals by intentionallygetting hit by Esau. Also, I don't mean anything I wrote in a hostile way at all, I just have a particular distaste for saying that this is an objective list, as every opinion you hold is colored by your own experiences and biases, and I think is better to be open about them instead of pretending to be objective. Great work nonetheless :)

Bethany should be S tier and Azazel b tier, lost should be atleast a tier. Bethany is by far the easiest character to break outside d6 Isaac and azazel isnt nearly as good as he was in rebirth because his range is ass and the game has so much more enemies that fk you on close range. Lost is just a skillcheck
