I swear that, in my total ignorance, I had always assumed that the whole point of the Quran and Muhammad being an illiterate was that he came back from the cave with verses magically written, as if he was just a vessel for Allah to put his words (writing like an automaton) into a text that could be taught to everyone. What a weird thing to discover that he had never produced a written holy book and it was only conveniently transcribed once he was gone. The Quran, from the 7th Century, has scientific facts which were recently discovered. One big fact in the Quran talks about the Expansion of the Universe, which was discovered in the 20th century with all the technology. There’s no way a human would’ve guessed any of these facts 1,400 years ago. It says “We” because of a grammatical feature in Arabic. If you study French, you’d know that to be respectful you’d say “vous” (plural of you) the same way in Arabic to respect Himself God says “We” (plural of I). There are still several places where God uses the default version of “I” especially when he takes an oath by something.

We will first have to figure out where and when the Qur'an was compiled in the its first stages.
