Very interesting information. However, take a break in the narrative of the reading! Had the text not appeared it would have been extremely difficult to distinguish between the questions and answers. Otherwise, Kia mihi

I wish every member of the Mormon church would listen to this. But of course they won't. Nonsense abounds in their beliefs. "My mind is made up, don't confuse me with facts". That could easily be the Mormon motto. Joseph Smith jr----the greatest charaltan in American history.

What is the "official" response from both the LDS & the RLDS churches on this? Methinks they know all about this but are tight-lipped unless forced to comment! Going to Nauvoo today is like going to an idealized, creepy utopia where everybody has a forced smile on their fresh faces!

The "official responses" change often. The typical response we hear from members is that William Law was a bad person. The idea is to demonize the messenger so that the message means nothing. We have studied William Law's life and have found nothing serious or disappointing. In fact, he was very popular/well-respected in Nauvoo(which is why Joseph chose him to be his 2nd Counselor) and later in life as well. After Joseph's death, his creditors were after his assets/estate to pay his debts off. Emma had some assets in her own name and refused to help pay Joseph's debts. William Law gave some of his land holdings in Nauvoo to help make the creditors whole again. Just one example of Law being a decent person.

@@latterdaysmarts244 Thank you very much for this information. Law absolutely seems like a decent, righteous and very honest man. I'm sure he knew much more than he even told. I've also noticed that when the LDS church is confronted by a fact they can't answer to they use a catchall phrase using their favorite word "regrettable"! Thank you very much for your extremely informative, interesting and entertaining videos. Methinks that you've only found the tip to the iceberg!!
@latterdaysmarts244
@latterdaysmarts244 Год назад
Yes he does. His accounts also match many other accounts of fellow members, which also match the accounts of nonmembers in surrounding settlements, judges, governors, etc. A consistent narrative. We agree that the word "regrettable" does not do it. Thank you! Yes just when you think the rabbit hole cannot go any deeper, it does.
