Sd.Kfz.221 (better known as squeezy boi) is a light tank in War Thunder with mounted anti tank squeeze bore gun S.Pz.B.41. In this video vehicles strong and weak sides shown during both arcade and realistic gameplay.
I honestly love this “tank” but my biggest problem with it is it’s lacking traverse range, making you have to turn the whole tank, which is difficult because of the lacking suspension and sensitivity of the whole thing
The thing is warthunder has many tanks that must turn the whole tank in order to aim more. Its the case mate tank problem. Almost every country used a case mate at some point because it was faster, easier, and cheaper to produce as turrets cost much more and are hard to make. The squeezy boi was an early cheap AT armored car with one purpose and one purpose only, to ambush or set up in areas where a TD is needed desperately and fast. It was cheap but I don't think it was ever used much due to the fact that the barrel wore down quickly from the fact the round actually hit the barrel and squeezed through it. That made it more expensive than it needed to be as they would have to replace the barrel often. But back to the topic, Warthunder has many turret less tanks, and they can all be effective, but they are mainly supposed to be used to flank and snipe because at close they can be flanked like no other as you cant aim far and protect your sides and rear.
"some times, you don't want to engage planes with your main gun" me: sees it shoots a D.500 out of the sky like shotgun to birds. me thoughts: I wanna do that.
Actually I’d argue the 2cm Auto cannons are more effective, as they have more ammo (20 rounds vs 1 round per reload) you can easily take out two or three crew members with a single tap. Also they don’t come with the horrible turret traverse, and have somewhat more protection for the gunner, while also being tracked and therefore faster than the sd.kfz. offroad.
I'd rather face a gang of these than a rushing gang of autocannon 'fastboys'. I had to level my low tier swedish after the last event gave them out in numbers, it was horrid.
@@fiasco348 Try low tier french, some guns have less penetration than size of their bore, once I was in a duel with another player in this tank and we just spent 50 rounds before giving up and driving away after an agreement in chat that this never happened (sorry I dont remember exact name)
Him: Gets 2 kills with 20 mm cannon back to back. Me in my Cromwell with a 75 mm cannon: Gets 5 hits on one target without killing him and then gets killed in one shot.
That was a very good video. Explains the pros and cons and which battles to engage in. Played in Arcade many times and too fragile to be effective for my style.
i got this vehicle only for being able to access the left most ground vehicles but i got surprised when i saw how many tanks i decimated using this little guy he is now one of my favourites
I love facing these vehicles when I'm doing ,,Kill ground vehicles with just British tier I SPAA (i forgot the name) challenge''. Becouse 4 light Mg's can't do much against other targets.
If you are looking for suggestions, how about the SMK? I also love that tank, clunky clumsy doofus that it is. Once I got the hang of the two guns (and bonus rear facing MG!) it became my go-to when mid tier becomes stressful (I don’t play above about 7.0 as I don’t enjoy helis).
you forgot to mention that the man in the turret is the commander not the gunner, so when in AB if they machine gun the guy sitting on top, you can't move, but can still operate the gun, because it's the guy inside the hull that's operating it.
It requires to collect a lot of data , and it's quite difficult to do (and show it) accurately. Also ingame description and reality is not allways the same. some things i dont even know how to test to avoid RNG, but you might be interested in some materials i collected before. it has a lot of innacuracies (mainly view distance part) and of course background voice is just booring commenting footage. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AZ8WReTh7o8.html (the video is unlisted becouse of how uncompleted and innacurate it is)
@@wildbillarizona3237 It's in controls. forum.warthunder.com/uploads/monthly_2017_07/Udklip.PNG.3ba99e82896637633643d26262893906.PNG If you hold it you can use the mouse to steer and you'll have much more fine control over steering. It's AMAZING for wheeled vehicles.
@@Toxi-ed5js Hate to be that guy, but I must disagree with you. Below goes my opinion: On Arcade, you can barely leave your spawn in most maps without getting "spotted" (which means, it's almost impossible to leave your spawn undetected and pretty much impossible to do flanking maneuvers, unless the other team is braindead). On Realistic, on the other hand, you are only marked either if (actively) scouted or if you get hit (including by MG fire) - Which means, you can always leave your spawn and do some nice flanking maneuvers on the team (honestly, always going head-on is too repetitive and no fun for me) Simulator is similar to Realistic, but with less situational awareness and the horrible lack of teamwork you will see in most of the matches (+ the intentional and unintentional teamkilling, both on you and by yourself). For planes however, I feel like Arcade is way more fun, but Realistic manages to be more atmospheric somehow (cant speak for Sim though, cause I have never used a flying stick on WT) - I usually go for tank RB and take one of my fav planes with me so I can play plane RB without the boring climbing or having to play on extremely large maps (made for jets).
CardellB I would have to agree. Arcade is more fun for planes. For Tanks, I mostly play tanks like the ASU-57 and the M18 Hellcat, so stealth is most important for me. When it comes to sim, I like having to identify if target is friendly or enemy. It also makes people play more stealthy and allows use of captured vehicles which introduces a new style to play.
Neither one is the worst. The Japanese Ka-Mi is easily the worst. Bad gun, bad armor, giant size, poor mobility. Honestly, I'd play the H35 for hours over playing this. Though I hate playing the British 'Archer' even more. It has a good gun, but is very frustrating to play.
@@ericbusch87 I have recently messed around with low-tier Frenchies...and they can be effective, in particular if you can angle...and especially in RB, where a lot of players seem to just shoot and don't do a ton of aiming. Honestly, on my top ten list of tanks I hate, the I-Go-Ko and the French reserves wouldn't be on the list.
Dude, the spaa before the m24 centareo , is the grandfather of delivering pizza, it also plays the same way as this vehicle, but it's just faster than this.....vehicle
Watched this vid 1 hour ago. got the vehicle, shot at a staffing airplane straight off, then got knocked out by a HE100 in the open 5 seconds later. . .. Much more to come.:)
