Couple of things you have to factor in on one pays. In states like Texas where you have a 6.25% sales taxes, Toyota/Lexus will not charge the tax on one pays. The other luxury manufacturers are starting to do that also. Will save you $2500-$3000 up front. Also, since you prepay the interest on the residual, the “payoff” increase over time to get to the residual. For example, my current residual on a 1 pay is $25,300. But, my “payoff” is about $24,000. You will have to pay sales tax based on the residual if you keep the car. But pay 6.25% on $25,300 vs $40,000 on the initial purchase or standard lease. With the standard lease you have to pay the taxes again on the residual if you keep the car.

Bought a 2020 A-Spec ILX for $155 a month on an upfront pay for 36 months vs $320 a month... so with Gap and prepaid I saved $5000 almost so I highly recommend it if you can pay that much upfront. In my case I traded my old car for double of what was worth and paid about a grand check and got a payment free lease on a new car. The GM did mention I get the unused amount minus fees back if a total loss happened

I did the One Pay lease with my Acura and saved a lot plus traded my car for $2000 more than what everyone else offered me. So even If I lose 4500 on a total loss its still worth it for me :) the car was a 2020 Loaner ILX A-Spec with 1200 miles so make sure the car has a high value before you make this kind of purchase.

I did a one pay lease in 2004 per my dad’s request. I don’t think it was a mistake because when you divided it by 36 months it was less than I ever expected for a loaded luxury car. I also returned it with a dent someone left on my car in a nyc parking lot and didn’t charge me.

great video, you do great videos..one thing you should add in is that in the calculation for a lease payment for a one pay lease, the capitalized cost is $0 so it's residual * money factor...that makes the rent charge lower...
