Why are some people so judgmental, so high & mighty, so nasty, gossipy, and scornful of other people? What if it's nothing to do with the other people? What if in fact it's a window into the dark side of the person doing the judging?

Similarly, I've spent a lot of my life wondering why life isn't fair, not just for myself, but overall. I think those questions are really statements, such as "people should be kind" and "life should be fair". It's true maturity and rootedness in the world to let go of those question/statements, and just live in the moment for what it is. I'll let you know when I get there....

I'm a very judgmental person. my dad and siblings are too. Only 2 of us are vocal about our it though. My dad (Who we learned this behavior from) and my oldest brother. I don't know how to stop being judgmental. I just judge first and then I have to force myself to ignore those judgements. I judge myself too and I haven't quite learned to ignore that. I'm scared to make a wrong move or look dumb in front of others. (Again, learned from my dad) I fear judgement because I judge. My social anxiety controls a lot of my life.
@TheBlueClover2012
@TheBlueClover2012 2 года назад
same here. Because I've been hurt a lot so I internalize all my judgment and anger. I don't say it but it's in my head. especially about myself. I also struggle with SAD. I think us being self-aware already makes us better than our parents/siblings though. N the fact that we aren't vocal about it counts for something. I try to learn through empathy.

@little.lite_star
@little.lite_star Год назад
you say that as if you have no self control? Why don't you just stop doing what you aren't meant to be doing and then your anxiety will go away... or if it's something health related then you have to take on whatever it takes to confront that and then of course you wont have anymore anxiety and then you can just be a more confident person and be bold about things and have the courage to be the person you want to be rather then just sitting in the shadows judging people who have put themselves out there to be known. I have to deal with people who have this whole judgement complex and it does my F*#$@n head in... and then if you call them out on it they turn into the most cowardly kind of child like minded person and just run away... It's absolutely cowardly... and no one wants to be a coward! and everyone deep down must know when they are becoming like that... so anyway... I just want to end this little rant by saying... you also deserve to be commended on the fact you actually admitted to that... it's a brave stance to just come forward and say it so you're obviously strong enough in yourself to take the first step and admit things... now you just need to have the same kind of bravery in yourself to say "I'm a coward and I should be more courageous!" and just willfully engage in the conflict that you should... and you'll feel better in yourself... and then you wont even have to be judging others all the time.

After spending literally 6 hours working alongside a coworker and chattering away about every political notion that befell our bored mineds I can't help but look back and wonder what my views have to say about me.
@glenngriffon8032
@glenngriffon8032 2 года назад
After four decades on this earth I've learned this much to be true and I hold to these views: Respect others but don't expect others to respect you. Be kind to others but don't expect others to be kind to you. Show others acceptance and understanding, even if you don't understand them. Do the things you want to do when you want to do them, don't let fear of failure hold you back because years later you will wish you had done the thing. (Also known as Frizzle's Rule: Take chances, get messy, make mistakes.) You're never too old to act like a kid. Eat pudding, have candy, enjoy cereal and cartoons. "There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes." - Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) Contrary to what some might say, you can pick your family. It's relatives you can't pick. You can choose to acknowledge relatives as family or you can decide they're not. You choose your spouse and they become family. If you adopt you choose your children. Your closest friends can be brothers and sisters to you. You absolutely can pick your family. Time is too precious to waste it worrying what others think about you. Do your best to be kind and just roll with it. You won't know everything and that's okay because one mind cannot hold all wisdom.
@rickgreen4131
@rickgreen4131 2 года назад
Good question. More interesting is how your views have changed and will change? That's what's interesting. Views are not very precious. We can have a view or opinion on everything and anything. Every movie, TV show, image, celebrity, politician, friend... we have opinions on anything and everything. Dunno why we need to classify, thumbs up or thumbs down, like/dislike, yes or no. As if our approval or disapproval means anything.

Funny enough, I just received a comment calling me dumb right before I see this video. N right before that I was reading a number of comments under the trailer video of that new Princess Diana film n a bunch of ppl was already judging Kristen Stewart (someone didn't like the way she shrugs =_=) even when the movie isn't even out yet. And someone even said Princess Diana doesn't deserve empathy (or feel bad for) because she was rich (and a princess). Honestly, people make me sad. Like, can't we all just cut others and ourselves some slack? Why are we like this?
@rickgreen4131
@rickgreen4131 2 года назад
Why are we like this? Because we are angry-disappointed-ashamed-disgusted-embarrassed about ourselves. Until each person gets their Sh*t sorted out and dealing with the junk from childhood we will continue walking around verbally stabbing each other. And, let's be honest, it's so easy to be nasty online. People spew garbage they wouldn't dare say to a person's face.

Judgemental people put themselves above others. It disgusts me and at the same time the notion strikes me as ridiculous. We are all human. We all struggle. We all suffer. We are all failures one way or another. Lets be kind to each other and lets try to understand each other. Don't judge. None of us is in a position to judge.

Atm im losing my shit as we still have covid restrictions and i actually go above and byond the guidelines because i dont want to be part of the problem yet we keep getting thrown back in to full lockdown because everyone thinks its ok for them to bend the rules/ LAWS. Ive just had a rant on my FB page and a wee one now because just like everyone else , i want this over with but every time i have to leave my home to only access essential services, im met with hords of people thinking they are above the law and i run and retreat back to doing iso solo while idiots dance in parks with no masks on getting in strangers faces and all i want to do is pick up mu groceries and pick up my meds then head home unscathed by covid. Armed with my mask and hand sanitizer, fully vaxed. Tell me how my destress about this is about my guilt ? Strangely my black and white thinking of being on the spectum is working out to make me the most law abiding person in my stupid small town full of overprivileged city weekends that shifted up here full time to escape the cities when this hit and they think its bloody Disney land during this cluster F of 2021 and yeah im upset because no one out my way of all the idiot or selfish anti vaxer , home schoolers , covid deniers, anti masks and flat earthers belive this applies to them too. Yesterday really upset me having a un masked stranger get in my face singing about toxic positivity shit getting their hands all over me on the way back to me car. I burst out crying when i got in my car because i heal my shit together and tried like hell to not follow my first impulse to puch them in the face or scream at them. I actually ran away.
