Why ARYA Will BREAK The Meta… | MultiVersus Season 1 

at the time i'm commenting this, arya is mechanically broken and some of her moves aren't working as intended. this isn't a nerf, it's a bug. the devs have been super public about their progress on it on twitter, but basically they've said that it's a work in progress and it will be fixed soon. when I say arya is going to be meta, I mean when she's working as intended, not when she's bugged (right now)

Arya should be able to pick up her dagger if you miss your opponent to reduce the cool down if you don’t TP to it. Similar to Batman’s batarang.

Everyone that mains Bugs acting like having a few recovery frames on his insane moves is "gutting" him-- because they're use to just pressing buttons and connecting free attacks. He still has broken, S++ tier hitboxes on most of his attacks, but they're all going to complain that they have to put some thought into what they're going to do after they press a button. Can't wait until shaggy and finn get their hitbox changes. There's going to be a lot of bad players that fight out just how bad at the game they actually are.

I agree on the bugs thing. His problem is that his melee options just outmatch almost anything. One would think that if a character labeled as a mage gets caught up at CQB range, he wouldn't have the advantage, but his attacks are just so fast with so much priority, he'll just combo the shit out of you and you can't even escape.

Will the next patch fix Arya’s up spec-dair combo/loop, or will it only be directed to her up special glitches? Just wondering because that specific move seems to be killing all my combos…

I feel like Arya has a lot of weaknesses but I dont really see any tool in her kit that would be strong enough to justify those issues. Maybe I miss something there but her neutral game seems so hard, she doesnt have a lot of range on her moves and her speed does not feel too overwhelming

arya is definitely a difficult character just cuz of how easy it is to be ko’d, by even the smallest things, she’s a character you’re gonna be dodging a lot with and tbh, even after the patch, she feels the same lmao, i never had problems with her before, the up combos really just depend on how you read the other players so idk, it’s only the getting ko’d easily part that’s annoying lmao, but i doubt they’ll ever change that

I’m a Tom and Jerry main I started w Finn got him to lvl 15 then Jake got him to lvl 16 then Harley who’s lvl 16 the Batman who’s lvl 12 and Tom and Jerry at 18 😅could have been on Arya or Tom but I’m on holiday and watching ur videos makes me so excited since I missed the first season release as I left on the 15th which was my birthday!

For me the easiest balance is a buff to attack decay just make it the knock back nerfed if they keep spamming the same attacks. So it will make you have a set of attacks to damage then a set attacks to ko, instead of right now just spamming the best attacks to get damage or fish a KO. Also Superman needs cooldown on his grab abilities.

Lately Ive been getting stuck in what feels like unlimited and almost inescapable combos when I go against Arya. How would I beat her? (I’m a Bugs main)

Expert titles are not random, expert means is hard to use but a stupid thing is that if you play an expert character the game automatically think you're good with that character so even when you're learning the character you'll encounter people that are really good at the game

Start implementing up special into fair at the ledge to get early kills at like 100, and up special into dair to follow up with another up special or nair

I don't think Arya will be good enough, or bugs/Finn/Batman nerfed enough until this hitbox patch. As a person who played Arya, then Harley, I started playing bugs post nerfs and immediately shot to the top of my 1v1 ranking with him before even getting to level 10. I literally don't even use his specials yet, still learning the character and he's already my best character just by using his aerials.

"Arya is not super spammy" he says, as he keeps spamming her up special and up airs (and getting attack decays even though apparently she doesn't get that many lol)

I been tryna say lebron is gonna be meta soon when people learn to use him, he has crazy combos with and without a ball and if you have your neutral special binded to a key the pass plays can be crazy too at least in 2s

I think if low level players want to pick up a character there is plenty to choose from, if they pick up tom and jerry and dont win any games on it because its a difficult character thats fine there is no reason to quit the game for them just cause they didnt preform well with that single character (only if they exclusively watched tom and jerry and have a tom and jerry collection in their basement). And I mean im an Arya main since the launch of the game (and i only recently watched the whole game of thrones) and i still lose alot of games but that wont make me drop the game, it even makes me want to improve at it, and I would call myself a casual, cause i play too many other games next to multiversus and cant put all the time in one. I think we sometimes have a bad perspective on what the wants and needs are from the casual audiance.

What are some perks that would help her out in 1v1s?

The only real answer to Tom and Jerry is to not nerf or buff him. I think he's in the perfect place where none of his moves are really dominant over the other. Except Down Air, maybe

I love how everyone talks about her combos, when I have yet to see someone doing actual combos of more than 2-3 hits. For a combo-based character, her combos are harder to pull off, do less damage, and have less hitboxes than the rest of the roster, while also being a lighter character. Hell, even Lebron does better combos, which hurt more, while being a bruiser and therefore more tanky and having a better proyectile. If they want to make Arya more than a F tier character, they should at least increase her hitboxes, much like Velma with her chat boxes.

I think catering to the casual players never works out in most games. The casual player has such a different understanding of characters and the game compared to the comp players. My very casual friend believes taz is an op character due to his spin and wants him nerfed more. Most casual players will pick up the game play a few games a week and maybe drop it over time whilst complaining about low tier characters being good. Then the comp players are actually learning the game and mechanics and give accurate criticism to the game. I’m not saying ignore casual player’s opinion I’m saying if they wanna keep the game thriving give more thought to the comp player base since they’ll be the ones buying more skins and putting in more hours.

I think it’s A LITTLE BIT easier to play against bugs now. The biggest change needed is a small knockback nerf on his up air… That up air is still so BROKEN… I think that would be enough

The worst place to attack velma from is above tbh

Hitboxes are what you use to attack others, hurtboxes is what you need to hit with the hitbox to damage the opponent

I have about 60 + hours of straight Arya gameplay and sadly, I’m 100% sure she’s not going to be a meta character. She extremely relies on her dagger to get kills on heavier opponents and super armor always gets me. There is not a single matchup where I feel like I have an advantage.

Why even classify characters as Recommended or Expert if the devs are so concerned with balance at low levels of play? Tom & Jerry is literally classified as EXPERT. He's supposed to be tough to play and there's supposed to be a disparity in low level to high level play. Idk why this is such an issue, just nerf the dude.

Bugs doesn't need nerfs, it needs to be reworked, kit is just overloaded. That is not going to happen and they will probably never hit a good spot for the annyoning rabbit. So as Arya main, I'm gonna tell You that She's not going to be S tier. She's most likely going to stay in the A tier. Besides that She's still buggs out from time to time the skill ceiling is too high for Her to go higher. She have mediocre at best neutral game, like negative range, small hitboxes (landing DAir is NIGHTMARE) and like no priority on moves. She's fairly easy to punish for whiffing and as a featherweight character this is a big flaw. Pulling kills without dagger is a stroke. But holy shit her combos are satisfying to pull off.

The patch to bugs did nothing. He’s still the best character in the game. They just fixed his exploits and added a little bit of whiff recovery, but due to the hitbox, you can’t punish it on whiff because you have to dodge a certain way just to escape the hitbox, which puts you out of the area to punish. His kit, combos, and safeness, attack priority will always be the reason why he’s the best character in the game. Being able to teleport across the map and do an attack with hit priority is broken, and then immediately be unpunishable is broken. They should of made it to where his holes are only active for 2 uses (first doesn’t count) and your teammate is included in a usage, then it disappears. Make the cooldown for rockets longer by A LOT (they’re too oppressive and give too much safety), make safes hp 10-12. Then he’d be balanced & STILL s tier. Just not toxic & broken in his current state

I disagree Tom and jerry buff for debuff perk is great, but the projectile perk fk him up so much arya is still too weak and easy to be knock out WW remain the same, get more pick due to she get buff Velma air recovery got fked= , neutral game is still decent strong so she is still S tier Finn= dead, too much nerf

Arya won't do anyshit until they have not fix her upspé dair and the many other bug she has, her only combo rn is jab upspé upair, that's all, before you could do a lot of mix up with upspé dair to make high damage combo if you're good enough. Also you forget that Arya is the lightest character, the 4th slowest and take 14% more damage because of her "glass canon" passive, she has the shortest range, she doesn't have a lot of eject power without combo, and right now she can't upspé dair which was the best part about Arya. I don't take in account how her dagger is bugged tho.

Why nerf Tom & Jerry? Its a hard character that takes high skill to play and a lot of practice to learn. It takes away the reward of mastering a character. Low level players arent good cause they dont practice enough
