Bryce Young is terrifying as a draft prospect. He is likely under 6'0 tall and sub 200 pounds, and has only average arm talent by NFL standards. But he also possesses elite poise, instincts and playmaking ability. Can he overcome his limitations to become an elite QB at the next level?

Pocket presence is the single most important factor when evaluating QB’s. It can’t be taught. Future Superstar, no doubt.

I agree that pocket presence is very important, but MOF vision and arm talent matter also, and those are concerns with Young

@@joegriffin2973 you think his ball velocity in the low 50s? those are usually intercept-able passes.

@@joegriffin2973 One thing that worries me in the pocket is that there are times where I think his size stops him from stepping into his passes when the pocket is collapsing, and he doesn't have the arm to get away with doing it. I still like him a lot but there are definite red flags. Still gonna be the number 1 pick though because of his special traits.

The only thing that worries me about him is his height and weight. People compare him to Brees.. But the one thing I saw Brees do that other short qbs don't do is, as soon as the ball is snapped, he runs back 5 steps to give him room to see over his OL or to scramble.. If he adds that to his throwing process, he could have success. If I was the team that drafted him, I would link him up with Brees to learn his technique as a small qb

watch how far bryce drops back he does that sometimes but yes we are all worried about his frame but i think he will be okay

Great video and end conclusions. I agree 100%. There's a lot to like about Young in terms of his understanding of the game, poise, play under control out of structure etc. But I see the same lack of arm talent - especially in a compressed pocket. So while the size concerns me, his ability to throw consistently in the pro game is a consideration. I actually think he's got the biggest floor among QBs in this draft, but the upside is unclear. Kind of reminds me of a better version of Doug Flutie - very similar style game. The team that gets him should invest heavily in 2 Top twitchy WRs and run fast timing routes like Miami did with Tua this past season. Like Tua, that will cover up much of the arm strength by allowing him to throw before the pass rush gets home.

Absolute beast and an awesome prospect. Not generational talent, but not far behind. I think he's gonna be at worst the 2nd best QB in this draft class.

@@joegriffin2973 I think he can become a top 10 Quarterback. He could honestly take Russel Wilson's spot when he was in Seattle. Top 5 is gonna be tough. Guys like Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert and the 2 I think will become top 5 in Lawrence and Fields. However I won't completely rule out Bryce being top 5 but it is quite lofty for him.

This guys comp is Johnny Manziel as a prospect. I don't think he'll be able to scramble, get outside the pocket as much as he does in college. Justin Fields gets caught by NFL DE's all the time. This guy is going to be getting thrown down by D Lineman with 1 arm. Hes the same size as a High school girl volleyball player. Absolutley 0 upside with all the risk
