I get asked a lot why I bought a Roadking. Also thinking about LED headlight and passing lamps... but which ones?!! Also close to 300 subs!!! #harleydavidson #motorcycles #roadking #
The hero 7 is a game changer. The only thing that stinks is the quality is better before RU-vid condenses it. I inderstand why they do it but man! Thanks for watching!
This was the video that made me subscribe. Clear video, great therapeutic engine sound and really nice evening view. I wish you made more of these relaxing ride videos. I felt like I was on the bike.
I agree. That is one of the things that we are going to get back. I miss the straight up motovlogging and we are going to get back into that as our main gig again. Thank you for being a subscriber and please if there is ever a video you would like to see us do, hit us up!
On my 2nd Road King. The 1st 1996 had 40,000 miles on it when a truck hit me and totaled the bike in 2000. My 2nd a 2003 Road King with 87,000 miles and on the 2nd Chain tensioners. Neither bike caused me grief and never leaked a drop of oil!!! The Road King IS THE Motor-Cycle
Subbed. '99 RK with 88 inch stock except true duals, an easy-breathing filter and jetted CV carb tuned to the pipes. 58K miles, zero issues including the cam chain tensioners. Enjoy your RK!
I logged in JUST to comment and let you know how perfect this video is! The scenery, the camera work isn't shaky, you're so calming and simplistic cruising!
@@grounded7362 Thank you! I test rode 5 Heritage Classics 103, 107 & 114. Then I rode that 17 Road King with the 107. My wife and I rode them all. The Road King single and 2 up was so much more comfortable. The Heritage Classic , I thought I was sold on it. But that Road King flew down the road. I’m short but heavy, 5’8” and near 280. I was stunned.
I have a 2014 Road King with Daymaker headlight and passing lamps. LED taillight, detachable tour pack(which I only use on trips) I had a 2005 Road King Classic loved it but I always wanted a hard bag that I could lock valuables in and not be concerned about some weasel grabbing something. Also the rider changes that they did on the 2014-2016 Rushmore editions was well done along with the 103 high output engine quite a difference from the 1450 cc I had on the Classic. Love a Road King!!
Bob Mohr I like the looks of the classic bags but it is nice to be able to lock them. I had a 98 Roadking classic and went to an ultra. Always missed the Roadking and was very happy to go back to one.
Nice bike! Just bought my first bike. 2006 Roadking 32k miles. It's a joy I've waited for for 20 years. I subbed for you bro. Hope you get to where you wanna be.
Welcome to The channel!! Thank you very much, we have already exceeded every expectation we’ve have for this channel so from here on out it’s all just a big bonus! You will love the Roadking. And 32k it’s just getting broke in.
I see a whole lot of the road and details in front of me. That’s why I love to ride. To actually see stuff. As for LED’s, put those babies every where you can. Headlight, passing lights, rear bag brake and run lights and turns. Less is more. Perfect for me too.
New subscriber today. I also ride a RK, Police Interceptor. Your love for ALL Harley matches my own. Not my first HD, not my last! Keep up the good vibe & I'll look forward to your view hours going up.
@@StevyFaux Loving my RK. My last was a Heritage Classic. Never been a fering lover. I may just get another RK? My bike only has 16k on it, so it's new. I intend to wear it out!
I bought my 2010 FLHR Road King in the fall of 2009. It's approaching 80k miles, and I've loved every single mile of the way. To me the most beautiful part of the bike is the headlight nacelle. Why would you want to cover that up? Nice video. Thanks.
Hi, I'm new to your channel but I agree with your comments on the roadking. I bought my first HD in 2001 and it was a RK. I had that gorgeous bike 14 years and I never stopped looking at her and thinking what a great bike she was. I bought a streetglide in 2015 though and then a roadglide ultra cvo a few years after that. It's a great bike but I miss the simplicity of the RK. I'm talking to the dealership about a 19 RKS 114 the last few weeks. Can't wait
Harley Brown that’s the same thing I felt. I had the ultra classic for 11 years but I missed....dare I say longed? (like you said) the simplicity of the King. If I buy a new Harley it will be another Roadking! Thanks for watching!
Test rode a 2016 (I think) Road King that was a deep red with white walls, wire wheels, solo seat and mini apes and it put a big smile on my face, but I couldn’t afford it. Have to stick with my 2002 Fatboy for now.
@@StevyFaux aftermarket ones on eBay - its well worth the money and got the white turn signals that turn amber in a flash so my road king looks like a train!
He said they are called Sunpie, he's been very happy with them. A dealer or shop will have to install because LED and they have to flash the system to recognize them. He had his done so the spot lights and high beam all stay on when you switch to high beam. Your regular stock lights can be done the same so high and spots stay on at same time, but dealer has to do that as well, some states won't allow that so have to be sure in your state. Watching the video again, do you know that the long road stretch riding, it looks more like a painting then real life? Thought that was pretty cool.
@@StevyFaux after riding a sportster all last summer at 6’4” 215 pounds in very excited to put some miles down! Maybe I’ll even make it out to a channel group ride
Steve, I have a 103 RK too mine's 2010. I dunno what year yours is? I swapped the lights for the "daymaker knockoffs". I got the set that changes your passing lights too. The only downside... I have a an extra longer "locomotive" type ring that takes place of the stock chrome headlight ring. When I put this ring on, there doesn't seem to be any way to get the headlight to aim down further.... when you get the lights, there is an inside ring that mounts to your nacelle. Then there is an inside ring that makes the beam adjustable but when you put your collar ring back on (in my case anyway) it sets the beam back to square, so the beam ends up too high. I mean it's ok. The lights are so bright that everything gets illuminated. I mean overhead street signs, everything! And the colour of the light is way better too. It's white, not yellow. The bad thing is that lots of cars flash me with no high beams on or passing lights. I think this is because I can't get it to aim down enough.
That’s good to know, thank. So the knock offs are brute enough? That’s the only thing I was worried about was that I would buy them and they wouldn’t be much brighter than the stock lights.
@@StevyFaux way brighter! Id say 60% brighter at least. What I noticed most was the street signs, even overhead, they are lit up like they had their own lights on them! The beam seems to be much wider and taller overall. Some will try to sell you on those lights that when you coner, they light up into the corner.. More to go wrong. The knock offs are always lighting up the corners not just when you turn. -- Especially with roadkings since we have the passing lights. You put all those on, it's like day time AND they don't run as hot AND they are supposed to last much longer too.
Awesome hearing your thoughts on why you purchased the Road King. Beautiful bike. I have come to love the Road King classics with the shield. Loved the special, but jeez for that kind of money... it ain’t that special.
Paul N Sarah Apodaca I don’t think I will ever buy a new bike again. I bought new in 06, and kept it for 11 years. But not many people do that. And most of them have handlebars done already and pipes, that’s 2000 in savings right there.
New to your Channel, on my 4th Roadking. Rolling a 19 RKS in the Scorched Orange added set of 16 inch apes an set of Cobra RPT slip ons . A fellow RK rider an eats night bugs had to subscribe 😎
@@StevyFaux I do get alot of lookers when parked, people still very curious of the M8 motors. So Far I'm liking the 114 getting ready to put some good miles on heading on a two week tour run in june so will see how she flies 😎
Dogbert on wheels I have some buddies with the JW lights and the my love them. But for the channel I think I’m going to try the hundred dollar knock offs on Amazon so we can see what they’re like. But if i decide to spend more money I will go with the JW speaker headlights. Thank you for watching!
What state Bro ? That scenery is beautiful!!! Enjoyed ... im about to pull the trigger on a 21 RK special!!! Sold my deluxe back in 14 so im ready to roll again
hey bro i have an 05 i put the amazon knock offs and they are awesome i get compliments all the time people cant believe they were less then 100 bucks they look just like the day makers
I’m thinking a road king special and buy a aftermarket quick detach batwing fairing with audio and gps for colder/long distance rides. I think I’ll be buying it mid 2022
Bike don’t make a biker, it’s in your blood or it’s not! Great video, subscribed! We just bought 97 RK, fixing clutch, haven’t tried her out yet, check engine light come on at idle and high rpm’s but in the middle of the idle and high rpm’s light goes off, any ideas to why that is are welcome! 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful bike! Can you tell me which apes you’re using? I’d like to get the same ones. They look terrific on the Road King. Thanks for the video. Great, great sounding bike. Which slip-one are you using also?
Charlie P 16 inch wild 1 chubbys. The bike has the screaming eagle slip one and I installed the rush racing eco friendly headpipe this winter. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
The knock offs work really well, the only down side is they are plactic instead of glass. I bought my at Advanblack $267 and I love them! What mufflers do you have?
It happens all the time around here with the hills. If your higher than the other pers and still going up the hill it seams like your high beams are on until you level out. Happens in cars pickups trucks doesn’t matter some people don’t realize what’s happening and just assume your brights are on. People who live around here know that. If you watch the video again I am cresting a hill and the bike is above the guy coming at me so me being above the guy when my bike starts coming down the hill the headlight shines into his car, that’s when he brights me and assumes my high beam is on. That’s why I said the guy isn’t very smart. My headlight is adjusted.
