You kinda outed Cleetus with all His Flying experiences. From His RU-vid Channel you wouldn’t know that He is anywhere near that experienced and has so many ratings. He’s shared some stuff, Helicopters and the Cub and mentioned a few things. He looked a little uncomfortable to me spilling the truth, lol. Ol Cleet (Garrett) is a true renaissance Man who does it all and is a natural at so many disciplines. His RU-vid Channel just grows and grows with His different adventures. I just wonder how He has the time with a new little Family now too. What a great guy, and as Patriotic as they come! 🇺🇸💯
I've watched literally almost every one of his videos on his channel and he really does seem to be a genuinely good guy that appreciates his team, what he has been able to build, as well as the viewers that "got him there" (which he acknowledges and thanks often).
@@jivetrkyI got the opportunity to say hello to him and the crew while they were here for ArkanSTOL. Genuinely nice guy, took time to shake hands and take pictures with all who wanted to, answer questions, and just generally chat, as much as he could as they were prepping the plane. The whole crew was an awesome, well oiled machine.
I had never heard of him until he bought the CC and started putting out TY videos, which my algorithm picked up on, and his videos have been popping up. He's one of my favorite channels now.
Oh man don't forget to check for that awesome evergreen content, they've done some fun stuff over the years. Best I figure I've been watching for 4+ years. They're a hoot of a crew. George added a whole new dynamic when they brought him on. It was good before and now it's just killer
I started watching him when his RU-vid channel started after seeing him on 1320 video (drag racing). This guy can drive anything with a motor attached it seems, he has a gift and a determination to maximize it. He started competing in jet boat racing in the last year as well and has been successful as a new comer. With that being said, I hope his following brings some more positive attention to the aviation community and bring people to your followers passion that may not have otherwise considered aviation. We may need more civilian pilots in the coming years than we ever imagined. Thanks for being a welcoming community to a new fan base.
He was pretty tight lipped about it for a long time, dude gets pretty wild in his cars and wanted to make sure that the camera wouldn't push him into doing something stupid. Seems like a good plan, planes don't have the same margin for error as most ground based stuff.
Yeah I've watched his channel for years and didn't know he had all that other stuff. I knew he loved aviation and has shown his RC planes several times but didn't know he had owned planes before the Cub. Since Heavy D Sparks bought that Black Hawk, I've been trying to convince Cleetus to buy one of the few Chinooks that were sold off to civilians just to one up Sparks, lol. Don't think he would ever buy one because of cost and its a two pilot craft. Plus Cleetus really seems to love MD helicopters. When he mentioned being trained on a Delphine, it was Sparks that trained him in his Delphine.
@@kennethhicks6755 He got way more mileage and clicks from crashing in the last 60 that he would have if he finished the race. Remember he is very good at promoting stuff by crashing / blowing stuff up.
21 cheers for CLEETUS's WIFE !!! 9 hours in the back of that thing ... preggo!!! the werld would be a better place of every other half was THAT DEDICATED!!! :)_ and congratz Cleetus on the WIN! :) *both the arkinSTOL and winning of the wiffie contest, but we all won that one if we got one, right?? :)
It was cool to hear him list all of his other aircraft experience. Because he didn't put any aircraft content on his own channel for years, a lot of people have the mistaken impression that he just jumped into a bush plane and was instantly good at it, but he has a *ton* of training and experience to get to this point. Even for this event he did a bunch of practice STOL from his own property in FL. Of course it's a huge advantage to have a place he can fly in and out of all day long without annoying any neighbors (yet).
RU-vid doin its thing and recommending this video to me, and I'm grateful. What an easy sub. Love the content man. Hoping this video feeds a lot of new interest to your channel!
He has to be an inspiration to anyone that understands how it all started for him. Anyone that has "don't burn bridges" as a priority in life and gives all credit to his success to Kyle, says it all. He is the Steve Irwin of everything motorsports. I just pray he doesn't get stung.
I'd say he wasn't short of a few quid even before RU-vid his family always had money but I agree it's pretty amazing to see what he's done and the crew of guys he has
You mean him growing up in a rich family? Able to afford to do all of these side hobbies when most could not. Yes he’s a great driver. Easy to practice when you don’t have to work
@@commonsense7754 He can't control who his parents are, and in spite of his privileged upbringing, he's remained a humble guy who's never been shy about sharing the limelight with his team. You can't really hold his background against him when he proves time and time again that he isn't arrogant or pretentious about what he's been able to do. You also have to acknowledge the huge risk he took in buying and renovating that track. He was in a pretty big financial hole before he could get all his ducks in a row and get the events flowing properly. There were certainly some hiccups for him along the way and he's handled it like a champ.
@@commonsense7754he wouldn't have anything he currently has without Kyle... he also got super lucky that the youtube algorithm pushed his exhaust whistle video which is when his RU-vid channel blew up.
It is good to hear that he has a lot more experience than he has let on. I hope he keeps the intensity down on aviation and leaves pushing things to the edge for other motorsports. We lose far too many pilots every year, some with insane levels of experience, to senseless accidents. From Snodgrass to McSpadden, it proves that everything must be done to keep the odds as far in your favor as possible.
He's definitely calmed down since getting married, at least on camera. Now that he has the 2nd kid coming I don't see him risking the biscuit, at least aviation wise, like the Cleetus of 5 years ago anyway. At least I hope so, especially that he has a ton of people looking up to him and in today's society we know that means emulation and duplication where possible.
Basically, if it has some kind of motor and throttle, Cleetus will race it and will probably be pretty good at it. He's one of those people who are just a natural with motorized vehicles. Cars, stadium super trucks, jet boats, now planes.
If you're into motorsports go watch his channel folks, been following him since 2017... Didn't know he had that much experience but knew he's been into aviation for some time, his friends channels would accidentally show his aircraft in their video's,,, LOL...
If it's got an engine on it, Cleetus can drive/pilot the hell out of it. From drag racing, to racing everything else under the sun. Also, maybe I missed it, you should have let everyone know that he WON his first event!
@@thebearsquad4It’s a historically accurate build. That’s how they were back then and thats how he kept it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.
WW2 German observation plane I believe is a Stork , and if painting an antique warbird authentic offends you, I guess that you don't own anything made in Germany, Italy, or Japan ,right??? I guess Aunt Jemima, Yosemite Sam and Porky Pig offend you too?
Garrett has many years experience as a pilot and holds many fixed wing certificates 7:27 such as single, twin, instrument rated, I believe turbine (turbo-prop) and rotory-wing(helicopter) used to own an R-44 and he does leave his high risk taking to the dragstrip
Did you even watch the video? He has ton of experience. Oh, and won his class without pushing past his comfort level. Always a few dildos in the comments hating on someone's success for no reason. Funny how many armchair pilots/racers come out when someone is winning.
He earned every penny himself going from a student who appeared in a yt vid, to racing his own cars, buying a racetrack and getting into aviation. He is crazy with how he achieves success driving anything he gets in, its down to alot of talent and brains behind the crazy persona he has in vids.
@@christianbuczko1481 He flat-out grinds every day and works his tail off for what he has and it's paid off. He would be awake editing videos while everyone else was asleep, among other things. He just seems like a great guy.
@@southstreetbarbecue7875 yes, i dont know where he finds time to do alot of stuff, and thats ignoring the aviation which he kept mostly secret until recently.
Um....he just dropped an hour and a half video on FL2K racing, and another last night about breaking the stick shift corvette drag record. Do you always talk sh*t about stuff you obviously don't know about - or are you just having a "special" day. Considering "pissing money away on cars and drag racing" is what made/makes him enough money to be able to buy aircraft and everything else - your statement is flying quite high in the "ignorant dildo" altitude.
Funny how all you little haters have tagging turned off. "greediest man on RU-vid" who includes his own team in all the fun, does a ton of make-a-wish work (and doesn't advertise it) and spends as much time as possible at events talk / interacting with people. Not only that, the ticket / concession prices for his events are way cheaper than most others.
Yeah he's going to end up getting himself killed and possibly someone else given his past track records of making near fatal mistakes and his poor safety record.
This "MODEL" of Carbon Cub is in fact an "EXPERIMENTAL." And the interview was taken place at an event the promotes Pilots in Experimental and Certified classes. We try very hard NOT to have "Click Bait" and deliver value on the topics we cover. Cleetus could have showed up in a Cessna. Now... that would be Click Bait based on the title! :-) Thanks for stopping by! Are you building an Airplane at the moment? What is it?
