This episode killed me but I love that they kept the bond between Elijah and Klaus because they were always together and they died together and I just live how they kept the bond.

I was profoundly mad at Elijah's death too. It made no sense. Like Elijah technically didn't have much character growth throughout the series as he tried on two separate occasions to make Klaus better by being a father. With Marcel and Hope, and the Hope attempt worked, but I honestly mainly credit it to Cami who got him to do therapy.

True but Elijah wouldn’t really have anything to do after Klaus’s death. Like Hayley is gone and everyone else is going there separate ways and they all have partners. He has followed klaus for a thousand years and experienced everything in life so instead he just decided to follow his brother like always.
I really enjoyed how the originals ended bc it basically wasn’t a happy ending. And it gave a dark vibe for what’s to come to legacies, but legacies didn’t take advantage of that so.
@@YourGirlKath especially during the first season, I expected to see her grieving the loss of her parents and uncle but the writers just brushed it off and decided to focus on a bird.
@@luisbarrera2892 Bro legacies is terrible. The ratings show that as well. Instead of making a great show they went the complete opposite route with the kid friendly asinine. And now in the last season they are basically bringing in Mikaelsons 2.0 in coffins. I mean what is this? Make a choice. Bring Mikaelsons back or not at all. Don’t come with some stupid cheap copy. So that was my rant haha have a good day.
@@bodigames Ik that’s y I am mad, the originals ended with me wanting to see more of her character but when I started legacies they brought in a bird and made it all about him instead of her. And now her character literally revolves around him. And then we have the trash malivore story line. If we r being honest he never was a threat to begin with.
I actually disagree on the point about Elijah's death. I think it was the most in character thing Elijah ever did. Alternatively you could argue that Elijah could honor his brother better by staying with Hope and mentoring her but I truly believe Elijah saw nothing left for him to live for with Hayley gone and so chose for his own sake as much as Klaus' to end his life. Combine this with the possibility that Daniel Gillies might not have been up for a return in Legacies and it was probably the best way for his character to bow out.
I think that the cure is in Damon because, in the TVD series finale, Stefan uses his blood to cure Damon. I think that's what Klaus meant. When Damon is ready to pass on, Caroline can get the cure from Damon.
The scene of Hope telling Elijah, that Haley is waiting for her dance should have happened in the last episode, so it's well in the memory of the viewer that death actually has more to offer to Elijah than life. Also they should have made it clear that Elijah wouldn't have time to break Klaus' neck and take him to Mystic falls or where ever the Saltzman twins are to take his place. Even if they wanted the last scene to be Elijah and Klaus dying, they could have started the episode with Haley and Elijah dancing and transitioned to the rest of the episode saying 24 hours before.
I remember finishing the second last episodes of TO and I knew from the spoilers he was gonna die but I didn't know how and I didn't watch the last episode for months cause i just couldn't take it Eventually I watched it and cried
So I’m sure the actors being ready to leave this universe contributed to the decision to have klaus die so it wouldn’t be weird him not showing up in legacies but I think it could have been done better. I mean, Caroline is still referenced but not in legacies. I wish they hadn’t killed him off and I think it would have worked that while hopes at school he’s off with Caroline and that could add to the tension between Lizzie and hope because Lizzie isn’t happy about it, maybe she could have thought klaus were taking her mum away and took it out on hope. It also still would have allowed for him to have a redemption because klaus would have been living as a good person for hope. He would be living for her rather than himself which is a huge arc for him. As for Elijah in this case he would be the one to die but I think that works too. He would finally be accepting and having faith that klaus has been redeemed and so he doesn’t need him anymore but also he would be dying so hope could have her dad... he would give hope her dad since he helped take her mum. Also I think he wouldn’t want to live with his guilt anyway but it just works! Hope and klaus deserved a better ending, I don’t think sacrifice is the only way to be redeem and I know they did it in TVD but they’re still different enough stakes for it to work but even with the similar situations, I think there’s a beauty in that, the shows have always had reflections of the other and similarities but having The love of family win in the end for both would be a lovely way to end it. Then they could have reflected that again in legacies maybe with the merge and having Lizzie save josie (maybe by becoming a heretic, a form of sacrifice for her sister to be human).
I was also thinking for parts in legacies where it would be weird if he didn’t show up there are ways around that. She could become a tribrid in secret, he could write letters like Caroline, they could have a phone call but without hearing his voice just her response and we put together what he’s saying from that, if she was to turn her humanity off he could want to see her without her knowing it was him to see the truth and either project as someone else or body jump so we have klaus but not Joseph playing him. So many options that wouldn’t be affected by Joseph not coming back.
Great video! I feel like they started setting the stage for Klaus dying way back in season 3, when Davina removed his protection and then Cami died just as her character was finally getting interesting. When Klaus held her in his arms, saying "Do not be afraid. You go now where many have gone before you. And where even I will go in time" I was like the writers are going to kill him. Cause when had we ever heard Klaus talking about dying that way before in the TVD/Originals universe? And it makes sense, it is a beautiful story arch where a man who once was vengeful and desperate to be immortal turns into a vulnerable and selfless man, giving up his life to keep his daughter and loved ones safe. Elijah dying, as beautiful as the sentiment may be, makes less sense. I am guessing the actor wanted out, it would have been better for the story to keep him alive and have him watch over Hope the way he watched over her father. At least the writers leave space for the other characters in the show to find their happy endings as well, unlike TVD who basically left everyone except Damon and Elena hanging. Or dead. Take your pick. ;-)
Damon still has the cure and will until he’s about to die. I’m guessing that Caroline setting it up was making sure that Rebekah gets it next. So even if she wanted to give it to Hope, Hope would still have to wait out Damon’s lifetime as he is human with Elena.
@@caleb1o198 it ages you to the age you would be if you hadn’t become a vampire when it’s taken out of you. The vampires before her (Silas and Katherine) were were so old that they were going past the point possible to still live. It just aged Elena up to her 20s.
So Damon would die if someone took it out of him right now. If Caroline took the cure right now and someone it out of her when she turns 40 (in human years) she would survive that and it would age her up to looking like she’s her actual age of 40.
