You guys have a theory that the 4 founders have their own "Secret Chamber". Do you think that the secret chamber in the 1st book be Dumbledore's secret Chamber?

@@spencerrimer6827I think it absolutely is dumbledores own secret room. Afterall, Dumbledore is the one tasked with keeping the stone secure for Flamel. Stands to reason that that secret chamber belongs to Dumbledore. Unless you’re suggesting that the chamber was built by Dumbledore, years prior to the stone. If that’s the case, I’d argue no. All of the other founders chambers were built with a specific purpose in mind. Dumbledores chambers purpose just seems to be a maze to hide something. What I’d like to know is, why is Dumbledore hiding the stone in the first place?? How did he know to pull the stone from Gringotts and stow it at Hogwarts? Why would he have suspected that Voldemort was attempting to steal the stone from the bank? Dudes a genius but he isn’t a seer lol

@@CiderVG I feel as though those are slightly different things. one of the biggest things that contributes to a martial artist are overall size and strength so there is generally a direct correlation between getting older and getting bigger/stronger. With riding a broom it's mainly skill and maneuverability, experience and skill can come with age, but for example there are plenty of kids who are much better than many adults at video games. maneuverability is probably going to be pretty high as a kid and could even go down.

Book trivia here: Did you know that in the book version of Order of the Phoenix, Bellatrix doesn’t use Avada Kadavra to kill Sirius? It’s just a regular attack (stunning?) spell that knocks Sirius backwards into the veil that actually kills him

Just got to the intro but, I feel like the fact that he does not know what the other obstacles are other than the trolls, he needs a way to get passed Fluffy without killing him. Just in case he get's stuck on one and has to go back to rethink things. In fact, due to the time between him learning about Fluffy and when he actually makes it to the mirror, he could have made attempts. But the biggest reason behind it would be due to that fact that Voldy doesn't want to alert anyone to his return.

There is still a possibility that with Fluffy being from Greece, and being based on Cerberus, the guardian of the underworld, that his species does have some sort of connection to death. After all, if Cerberus was killed, then who could keep Cerberus from leaving the underworld? Immortal creatures isn't exactly unheard of, phoenixes for example. So it could be that a spell that literally causes no physical harm other than making you dead, may be ineffective against a creature that is able to come back to life.

The killing curse still put Fawkes out of commission for several months, though. If Fluffy had eaten at least three killing curses, one for each living head, it's still possible that he would be completely out of commission.

@@jamespilgrim3774 True, but the myth with pheonixes is that they die and are reborn from the ashes, meaning their immortality is more of the infinite rebirth variety. Cerberus, being the guard dog of hades and found in the underworld in the myth, may just have an immunity to death. that isnt to say that a binding spell wouldnt have worked, but then maybe cerberus may be as resistant to magic as dragons are

I imagine it is because there isn’t a ton of better options for poor people. Like if you are privileged to live in a large city with lots of therapists around who want to help and don’t care about making money that’s great! But for poor people in rural areas it’s kind of nice to be able to get help from SOMEWHERE!

Basically his plan was to leave the outer defences the ones that would be checked on unharmed and intact thus presenting the illusion that the stone was still there and being guarded. The way the defences are set up. i dont believe that whoever came to check on them would go in beyond the first few.

My guess. He didn't know all of the trials. What if he couldn't get past one of them? He'd have to leave, try again another day. A dead dog would let Dumbledore know someone is going after the stone. Think about it. If Harry wasn't there, the stone would still be in the mirror. What would he do then?

Without even watching: Fluffy was the first level of security. If one of the involved teachers swung by and the dog was dead, alarms would be going off, and Quirrel had no idea how long it would take to get the stone. If he was still down there and someone found the dog, he could have to fight his way out, past McGonagal, Snape, and Flitwick, at least.

I still maintain the mirror was not a permanent solution and that Voldemort could have broken the enchantment given time. He will have needed to steal the mirror but eventually he could've broken the protection and got the stone. Why use the code to a lock when you can break the lock instead? Bonus theory: Is it possible the reason Dumbledoor knows so much is that he's visiting Grindalwald and Grindalwald is telling him the things he's seeing I'm the future?

@@KingPanda-lp5ir from our point of view, yeah, but Voldemort would never see it that way. To him, Quirrel is merely a host, a thing for him to use to move around and touch stuff. He would see himself as separate in all the ways that matter, so he would never share anything with him. It's just another example of his arrogance leading to his downfall

Okay, haven't watched the vid yet, but the correct answer has to be, "Because Fluffy is freakin' Cerberus." Quirrell *_can't_* just kill him. If Heracles himself couldn't kill him, then Quirinius Quirrell certainly can't kill him... 2:25 - "But also, he's a living creature..." Is he...? 2:47 - "Was it possible that Fluffy simply was not killable by the _avada kedavra_ curse... that he possessed some kind of resistance to the curse?" Yes, I think it *_is_* possible. Cerberus is the guardian of the underworld and a servant of Hades. It's entirely possible that he doesn't count as being "alive" in any usual sense.

Would be a good addition to the explanation, but it would assume that Greek mythology (as it is portrayed in the myths) is historically accurate in the Harry Potter world, which I don't think we have any indication of. This is *a* three-headed dog; not necessarily *that* three-headed dog. The underworld probably doesn't even exist, let alone Hades. The books refer to Death but never call him Thanatos.

If Hagrid had access to all the magical creatures he ever befriended then the Battle of Hogwarts never would have happened. Volly would show up and see a massive three headed dog at the gate, dragons circling in the sky, ten thousand car sized spiders standing in formation on the lawn and he'd just turn around and go home.

I'm always under the impression that the 3 headed dogs and other magical creatures have resistance to magical spells, it's part of the reason why they are so dangerous. therefore moldy in Quirrel simply doesn't have the ability to just kill it with a single avada and risk not only detection but getting ripped apart by fluffy

Kerveros (we don't have C in Greek) is not mentioned as being larger than average. I suppose he's big enough (no chihuahuas) to serve as a guard dog, but it is not suggested that he is supernaturally large. His brother (the Nemean Lion) is normal lion sized.

⚠️Off topic from video, day six of asking for what ifs⚠️ 1: What if Dudley went to Hogwarts? I think he'd be a Hufflepuff and be pretty good at defense against the dark arts and I think it would be fun to have him be good at divination cause none of the golden trio are good at or even seem to respect it. 2: What if Aang died with the other Air nomads and one of the other main characters eventually became the Avatar? I think the most interesting would be Sokka and Zuko. 3: What if Prim became the Mockingjay? The only way I see this happening is if Katniss gets caught hunting and either gets killed or sent to the Capital and becomes an avox, a year or two before Prims game so she gets some survival skills not as good as Katniss but better than nothing.

I think that they didn't involve the basilisk is probably because Voldemort felt it was too much of a risk that the beast would just kill Quirrell on sight.

Pretty please can you make a video about owls when you get the time! I have soooo many questions!! 1. How do they find people even without an address aka Sirius Black. 2.Are they just owls or are they crossed with something like crookshanks (half neezle) giving them extra powers? Also the rats in the minagerie skipping rope thats not normal rats right? 3. Why doesnt the ministry just send an owl to Sirius and then follow the owl to find him? 4. Mail time at breakfast seems unsanitery, surely someone got owl poop in their cornflakes at least once right? 5. What is the airspeed velocity of an unlaiden owl?

There's also another possible consideration. It's possible that Hagrid, big animal adoring softie that he is, would have as part of his puzzle that harming Fluffy would seal the trap door. It's also possible that Quirrell was able to get that much out of Hagrid easier than how to actually get past him.

I always figured like Jay said Fluffy was spared as to not give away the stone was almost stolen or stolen, but also as to keep Quirrell in the school to recruit.

As the 1st obstacle. I believe fluffy death would have alerted dumbledore immediately. It is also the biggest abd loudest obstacle. Voldemort wanted to do this without being discovered. Right under dumbledore nose. As the brother says on the video Voldemort wanted to return with the advantage of gathering his power base. Killing fluffy would have worked against that.

@johnnycage112 and it was also said, just like J says in the video, that Dumbledore made Hagrid send Fluffy back to Greece...... while he was still alive..... WELL before the battle took place.
