Homosexuality seems to really make a lot of religious uncomfortable. I wonder how many of the people that get so uncomfortable about it actually have homosexual feelings.

I’m married and have a family…I guess what I’m saying is that I don’t really care if other people are gay or not. It has no impact on my life. The Bible talks about owning slaves and stoning women that aren’t virgins. Most people at your local church weren’t virgins when they got married…yet everyone wants to focus on gay people. I don’t understand the obsession. Is it that people might have these thoughts and it makes them very insecure so they have to make it a point to act like it disgusts them?

Hate towards homosexuality was the reason i started questioning my religion, i always wondered why my school taught me to hate the gays, I've never gotten a clear and a justifiable answer especially for something as big as this. Years later i became an adult and went full atheist mode
Hence why I'm becoming atheist. I actually sat down and read the Bible. Both old and new testaments tell me to hate those who commit sin, or to contradict themselves later.
As a Christian, we aren’t to hate gays. Being gay is a sin *in the bible* and we must follow the Bible. That’s what our book say. But, as a Christan, we are to love all. We don’t agree with lgbtq, but we love respect them either way for that is our religion.

As someone who is Bisexual and grew up within the bible belt of The United States; a huge amount of the Christian Community actively contributes to the stigmatization and hatred of anyone who is remotely different, or pushes the envelope on the standardized of social norms from the past 150 years. Most people of faith will tell you all day long that, "Not you, nor I can judge anyone", but call people slurs on a weekly or daily basis. Sorry to break it to you, but the pride that religious people push onto others, 100% contributes to the SIN that they hate so much.

This really makes sense, the sin is the sin but the sinner is just as a sinner as we but Jesus Christ gaved us his Word and Holy Spirit and most importantly the Salvation through Jesus Christ, Amen.
I myself is Christian and gay, and I even wanna have a boyfriend someday, and I am against conversion therapy. But I still think its a bit wrong to say «why christians hate gay’s» more correct would be «why SOME christians hate gay’s». I have not yet find someone christian’s who hate me, but unfortantly I have find christians who dislike me, but dislike is not the same as hate. Most christians I have met are supportive to my orientation, and some christians like me as a person, but dislike the opinions I have about LGBT, and some christians dislike me just because I am gay. But luckily most (in my personal experience’s) are supportive, even evangelical christians. My mom and stepdad say they loves me, and they are not ashamed or embarrest of me, but they still disagree on my vision on homosexuality, but they still say they love me, and that I have my right to deside of my own life , of course it hurts and of course I wish they had an other opinion, but most important is that they still respect and love me even they disagree on my point of view , but I hope someday they will change their minds. My brothers on the other hand who also are christians are very supportive and also all of my Christian straight and gay friends 😊😍🏳️🌈✝️

I prayed for myself, I prayed when I was alone inside myself I tried to "convert" myself A few years later I told a friend that I am gay. He is a Christian, and I asked if he would pray for me, ask for motivation to live the rest of the future in celibacy, possibly for full healing if that was possible. He looked skeptical, I think he understood that it was an irresponsible thing to do to someone who did not know his own best, but he agreed to give me intercession under strong skepticism EVERY SINGLE TIME I prayed for myself, EVERY SINGLE TIME He prayed for me, I just got mentally sicker and sicker. I became suicidal, I hurt myself, I became severely depressed, I got anxiety, I tried to commit suicide. Eventually I realized that what I am doing is very harmful and potentially deadly I was on the verge of psychosis many times. My friend saw how bad I got, he said «I won't pray for you anymore, I see you are suffering a lot from the intercession, I feel irresponsible if I continue to pray for you, there is nothing wrong with being the way you are» Most people who are subjected to intercession and "conversion" of their sexual orientation are greatly damaged by this. My friend prayed for me in a very nice and careful way, yet I was hurt, he was also hurt by performing the prayer. I'm not mad at him. I was the one who pushed him to pray for me, and he said yes, but he has a very bad conscience for this now
The issue with this is contradictions, Jesus himself never showed any homophobic belief, all bible passages on this issue were written by other prophets. Its interesting how the Church is meant to follow in Jesus' footsteps, but would rather follow the footsteps of Paul and Moses, who often had different or even completely opposing views.

In their accounts of Jesus, yes they did repeat what Jesus said, but why is it only Paul's letters and Moses' part of the bible which teach any homophobic belief? I left my church because of the phrase “hate the sin love the sinner”. As a bisexual woman who wants to be able to love whomever I want and be able to believe in God within a safe environment, no church has actually made me feel that way. The way I see it, personally, is you can’t love me unless you love all of me, and that includes my heart and who I want to love.

Why do animals leave their babies behind? Why don’t animals have more empathy and compassion for one another? Why is it that animals have to fight one another just so the male can forcibly have intercourse with their mate? These are all questions and the answer goes as follows: They are animals. Beasts. Nothing more. Humans have such a further understanding and intelligence that we feel love and compassion where animals fall short. Humans know right and wrong, as do you, so as animals have no knowing of their depravity, I ask, do you?

Amen! As an ex-muslim, I can say it’s very different from islam, whose doctrines do actually teach muslims to hate and kill homosexuals (along with jews, apostates and unbelievers)! The muslims who don’t and are “peaceful” are good/loving in spite of islam, not because of it. It’s the exact opposite in Christianity, whose theology is entirely based on love. Love is, in fact, the greatest commandment and the proof of our faith in Jesus Christ.
The arrogance of religious people like him is his conviction that his views are correct and that it's everyone else who needs to change. I can't imagine the unmitigated gall for a Christian to travel to India and tell people that Hinduism is wrong even though it predates Christianity by thousands of years.

I have lgbtq+ friends. I told my gma this and she was outraged. She said that she doesn’t care to tell people they’re a girl or boy. Now, my gma is a great Christian and she’s been a Christian for over 30 years. What I’m torn about is; is it alright for a Christian to have lgbtq+ friends?

The thing is that we don't need to accept everything they do but we still care for them just like we care for everyone else. The homosexual activities (I hope this is the correct word because I am not a national English person 😅) are the sin. If my friends talk about that stuff, I don't mind because I have made them clear that I don't accept it but I can still be their friend and support them in other things. I have told them once about it and they know my opinion so I don't have a need to remind them about it unless they ask about it. A nice way to say that is depending on the person you are trying to say it. But the general idea is that "Your actions don't define your worth to me. If you do sin, it doesn't make you any less in my eyes. However, sin is sin and I can't support it. It doesn't matter what you do because you are the child of God either way.". That is exactly what Jesus did, Jesus was God but still helped sinners to change there ways. You are right a unrepentant sinner goes to hell, not because of the sin alone though, that is a misconception. It is there choice in rejecting God and not willing to change as God dictates us all to do.

The scripture says God hate the sinner every day. So I think people dont want to read or believe the bible. And we are to judge righteously. It means If I myself are no longer practice Sin, is my duty to preach to others to repantance.

The linen mentioned only applies to fibers from the flax plant. It’s forbidden for us average people to were mixed wool and linen because the High priest was the only one allowed to were those. Exodus 28:6-8 and Exodus 39:4-5. Also you speak on a ceremonial law not a moral one, it would not apply to Christian.

I can prove killing, theft and covetousness are both immoral and contrary to the teachings of Christ. Prove homosexuality is a sin, but partaking in other prohibited behavior (such as eating leavened bread or wearing mixed fibers,) is not. Jesus never said "you can do all that other stuff, but the gay thing? Yeah that's still supes sinful." It's all based on biased human interpretation of God's intent.

This detail further insulated the Israelites from pagan practices. The Canaanites kept herds of swine and sacrificed them to idols. God wanted His people to distance themselves from all such activity. Then there are the hygienic concerns related to the Law’s dietary restrictions, including the ban on eating pork. It is well known today that pork carries any number of diseases, and the meat requires stricter cooking techniques than other meats such as beef or poultry. In Moses’ day, there was no knowledge of microscopic pathogens, and the cultural norm was to eat raw or under-cooked meat (Leviticus 19:26). Of course, eating under-cooked pork would have posed a significant health threat to the Israelites, but God providentially protected them through the Mosaic Law. “If you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). "Or Unleavened bread" Another Rhetorical question: What is the significance of unleavened bread? The Bible tells us that the Israelites were to eat only unleavened bread every year during Passover as a commemoration of the Exodus from Egyptian bondage. Since the children of Israel left Egypt hastily, they did not have time for the bread to rise, so it was made on that very first Passover without leaven, also known as yeast. In describing this bread and why it was eaten, the Bible informs us of the following: "Do not eat it with bread made with yeast, but for seven days eat unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left Egypt in haste-so that all the days of your life you may remember the time of your departure from Egypt" (Deuteronomy 16:3). Further commands regarding the eating of unleavened bread are found in Exodus 12:8; 29:2; and Numbers 9:11. To this day, in Jewish homes, the Passover celebration includes unleavened bread. According to the Hebrew lexicon, the term unleavened bread is derived from the word matzoh, which means "bread or cake without leaven." The lexicon also states that matzoh is in turn derived from a word which means "to drain out or suck." In referring to this second Hebrew word, the lexicon states, "In the sense of greedily devouring for sweetness." So it is quite possible that unleavened bread, while it may have been heavy and flat, may also have been sweet to the taste. In the Bible, leaven is almost always symbolic of sin. The answer below presents a biblical understanding of a sensitive gender-related issue. We reject all forms of hatred and discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. After the June 2016 terrorist attack by an Islamic extremist against a gay night club in Orlando, Florida, some have claimed that Christians are just as guilty as the terrorist because, after all, the Bible pronounces the death penalty against homosexuals. It is true that in Leviticus 20:13 the Bible says, “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.” So, does the Bible require us today to put homosexuals to death? It is crucial to understand that Jesus fulfilled the Law (Matthew 5:17-18). Romans 10:4 says that Christ is the end of the Law. Ephesians 2:15 says that Jesus set aside the Law with its commands and regulations. Galatians 3:25 says, now that faith has come, we are no longer under the guardianship of the Law. The civil and ceremonial aspects of the Old Testament Law were for an earlier time. The Law’s purpose was completed with the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus Christ. So, no, the Bible does not command that homosexuals should be put to death in this day and age. Also important to understand is that the civil laws within the Mosaic Law were meant for Israel under a theocracy. God’s chosen people, living in the Promised Land, following God as their King, were to adhere to a system of civil laws with divinely prescribed punishments. The priests taught the laws, the rulers enforced the laws, and the judges meted out punishments as necessary. The rule of Leviticus 20:13, “They are to be put to death,” was given to duly appointed government officials, not to ordinary citizens or vigilantes. The civil laws of the Old Testament were never intended to apply to other cultures or other times. There’s a reason why the nightclub attacker was not Jewish or Christian. Jews and Christians understand the intent and limits of the Old Covenant Law. By contrast, the Koran does not qualify its command to kill homosexuals, and many Muslims see that command as enforceable today. Another consideration is that the Old Testament Law did not allow for vigilantism. One of the reasons for the cities of refuge was to protect those accused of murder until they could receive a fair trial. The Mosaic Law said that only civil government was allowed to implement capital punishment, and that only after a fair trial with at least two witnesses (Deuteronomy 17:6). So, even during the time the Old Testament Law was in effect, the mass murder of homosexuals by a vigilante was not what the Law prescribed. So, the Bible no longer requires the death penalty for homosexuality. But the question still arises as to why the death penalty was required in the Old Testament Law in the first place. The answer is this: all sin is an affront to a holy God. God hates all sin. And while God only required a civilly administered death penalty for some sins, all sins are ultimately worthy of death (Romans 6:23) and eternal separation from God. The Bible describes homosexuality as an abomination, an immoral perversion of God’s created order. The purity of God’s people in the Promised Land was vitally important, as was the continuance of bloodlines (one of which would lead to the Messiah). That is why God demanded the death penalty for those who engaged in homosexual intercourse. Homosexuality is still immoral and unnatural. But we are no longer under the ancient Jewish system of governance. In terms of obtaining forgiveness from God through faith in Jesus Christ, homosexuality is no greater sin than any other. Through Christ, any sin can be forgiven. Salvation is available to everyone by faith (John 3:16). And when that salvation is received, the indwelling Holy Spirit will provide the means to overcome sin through a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). So No in conclusion I'm not cherry picking the verses in the Bible.
it’s not hate so much as disapproval. kinda like if you have a christian friend. you’d still be friends with them (hopefully) but you probably won’t hate what they believe in

What God has joined, let not man separate.’ (Mark 10:7-9) The Bible’s clear it’s contrary to nature (Romans 1:27), and it repeatedly describes marriage as 1 man & woman when teaching how to raise family, how to behave etc. Paul consistently said it’s a sin (1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Timothy 1:10) and the OT was clear as well (Leviticus 18:22).

GOD said homosexuality is an abomination however, HE did not say HE hated the sinner. As an imperfect Christian, GOD knows we will never be perfect or else we would be like GOD. 1. The bible was translated multiple times, edited and re-edited so we don't know what the original bible says. 2. Homosexuality was not recorded during biblical times. What was common was for men to keep boys as pleasure slaves. So even if we have the original texts, we wouldn't know what Jesus thought of gays. 3. THE God created you just the way you are, loves you and has a purpose for you. God of the bible? Not so much. 4. The bible is not a great moral compass (old testement; nuff said) 5. Yes they can, literally that’s one of the major things Jesus speaks on throughout his ministry. We repent and ask help from God to change, people change and there are millions example of so. You are right, the sinner becomes the sin based off our fallen nature. However God gave us himself in the form of The Holy Spirit to see and do what is right. The biggest problem with your explanation is what you said to do. You should never ever try to tell a gay person about salvation. When you talk about salvation it automatically outs you and gives the impression that you are unsupportive of them and are possibly disgusted by the person. The thing that wish would happen is kinda weird. The main problem of most religions is that they aren't willing to abandon beliefs even if those beliefs are harmful to others. Looking at homosexuality as a sin is a big issue because it portrays other people as evil. I'm a big believer in societal progress you may vote for candidates who's policies you like. But the big problem is when you are willing to let your beliefs come before what is best for everyone.
It's true "not all Christians" etc. But "calling people to repentance" is actually not the most loving thing tp do, the most loving thing is to love thy neighbor as they are your brother/sister in Christ Jesus. Im not going to be able to go into the the personal details. The Bible had stated that sin is born into human nature. The reason we are not known as the children of Christ is because we were in Sin. Right from we are born we are the enemies of God. We are so much into Sin that we basically cant think straight. Try to bring good and you will understand. No human is righteous. No human seeks God. But this is the reason God exist and He sent his perfect son to die for us. Some people might not agree with this but this is the Christian worldview. Also about the being good. We are unable to march our good deeds to God because he is perfect. We human are corrupt, lustful, greedy, and many other things. It ours very natural even to unbelievers. Being Gay is a sin but we as human do other sins as all sin are the same to God. There is no confirm answer on why. Some people theories that it because it defeats the purpose of God creating Men and Women. God sent Jesus to die for our sins. Love is a gift from God: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23) God made us to be in relationship with Him and with each other: "it is bad for man to be alone" (Genesis 2:18) It would be inconsistent with God’s loving nature to create people who were gay and then condemn them to a life of loneliness. Heterosexual marriage is presented as an example (rather than a definition) of how God puts people in relationships; in Genesis 2:24: “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” The clause “that is why” points back to 2:18. God creates community and families, uniting people together: "So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." (Matthew 19:5). God can and does create unions with all types of people, including LGBTQ individuals. Celibacy is good if one is called to it, but it is not for everyone (Mt. 19:11-12); marriage is good, too ("better to be married than to burn with passion," 1 Corinthians 7:9).
