Thank you for doing this video. It is simultaneously terrifying and freeing to think about trying to experience the emotion so that the thoughts can just be thoughts and not have to be labeled as intrusive. I am going to be subscribing to your channel and learning more about how to do that. I would like to discuss the part in your video where you are talking about people with harm OCD. You explain that the difference between those people and people who might actually hurt someone is imagining harming someone out of anxiety versus imagining harming someone out of rage. I understand what you're saying here, but I do want to point out that harm OCD often manifests as urges which can feel rage driven. The anxiety of acting on the thought is still there, but a feeling of rage can be a part of the urge manifestation and I think it's important for people suffering with harm OCD to be aware of that. I think if I had heard that the difference between someone with harm OCD and someone who might actually hurt someone is a feeling of anxiety versus a feeling of rage when I was struggling with harm OCD, I would've been even more terrified of myself than I already was. I hope this comes across as helpful , it's not meant negatively. I appreciate the work you're doing.

Can you elaborate on this. What do you mean "that harm OCD often manifests as urges which can feel rage driven."

@@sunflowercloud9115Sure. When my OCD theme was harm the intrusive thoughts would manifest as an urge to hurt someone I loved. The emotions which went with that were rage, remorse, and anxiety all happening simultaneously. It was like, instead of canceling each other out the rage and remorse would feed off of one another and just get more intense. Remorse might be the wrong word to use here, since remorse is something felt after hurting someone, but I'm not sure what else to label it. And then I'd get stuck in a compulsion loop of trying to reason with the thought/feeling, or trying to repent of it, or trying to stop it altogether. At the time I didn't realize I had OCD and that doing those compulsions was only making the intrusive thoughts more intense. From age four to twenty-five I was terrified of myself any time that theme started up. When I finally learned that I had harm OCD I was blownaway, I felt free. I hope this has helped to clarify things. If you have more questions I'm happy to try to answer them or help find resources.

Do u know anything about psychoanalysis? Can u make a video on OCD psychoanalysis? Had a psychologist who does psychoanalysis saying if u work through emotions in Ur subconscious the intrusive thoughts will stop. Am wondering how true is this?

Actually last example was kind of problematic for ocd people Matt. Some people can do checking compulsions after you say that. Like do i like this thought ? Do i feel anger or fear etc. So if you are here, its high probably OCD guys dont dive into checking. So next episode can create a lot of compulsion for a lot of people i believe :)
