I'm not convinced. Having a phone where the display is a high-wear item is just not appealing to me. I'd rather keep the hard glass slabs that last me a decade if I take care of them. Sure, the software support gets worse and worse over the course of that decade, but the phone isn't going to shatter from regular use.
@@rizkialdiannugroho1607 Pixel 7 Pro, purchased refurbished, with CalyxOS flashed on it. As a replacement for a Moto G7 from 2018 that I've completely worn out, and a Galaxy A20 inbetweener from the same era that I hated all the way up till I finally got the money for the Pixel.
I had a Z Flip, and while it was fun at first, the narrow and tall display got annoying quick. I do have large hands though, and I found that typing on an open Z Fold is much more comfortable for me.
I'm not sure yet about getting a used folding display. If that thing gets the dreaded lines of death you wont be saving any money after getting it fixed.
I got my Z Flip 3 5G for about $200 a year ago already and it's my favorite phone :) I like being able to check notifications by just slipping it barely out of my pocket if i'm sitting
Nice, but have you been able to use the same Z-flip for a whole year without having to bring it to a store to get anything on it fixed? I've got my S20 FE since end of 2021 and have yet to go to the store to get it fixed, i remember the "This Is" video where Matt pointed the problem of not lasting a year to you and unless it meets that criteria its not a buy for me.
@@Kolex06 once had several in my hand. When you open them to watch something you can always always see an indentation across the screen. is very annoying
My daughter had the 4 and had 4 of them fall apart in less than a year. The screen would always separate from the phone at the hinge. Eventually, assurion just paid us out for the phone and she went back to an iPhone.
Paid $160 for my Zflip 3 on swappa. It works incredible. It's been my daily driver for a while now. I'm actually going to get either a fold4 or flip5 here next week. I haven't decided yet. It's just something small to hold me over until the fold6 comes out! Which do you think is a better option, the fold4 or the flip5?
I just want a Phone that lasts me 3-4 years while still feeling good too use as the hardwear ages, and doesnt cost me 1500 dollars for a decent long term usable spec. As does everyone else that isnt a tech reviewer
Older refurbished Z Flips are pretty much unusable. They almost never have the screen protectors installed, and the rubber feet at the bottom are always worn off
I would not recommend the Flip or Fold to my worst enemy. The amount of insurance claims I have filed for people to replace the dysfunctional screen is absurd for a $1000+ dollar device. The concept is cool but the execution has been subpar
You need to see a therapist... there gotta be somethings wrong after you owning so many... i feel the same way about my fold.. but i wouldnt even reolace it once if it only lasted 5 months even if i could afford it. Theres some deep rooted isssue here
