Hey mate I've got a question. I have a UK plug with red and black wires only. I want to fit an Australian plug to it. Our plugs have 3 points. If the UK one doesn't have an earth wire cam I just wire it up to my 3 pin plug?
Hi. I'm fitting a new electrical cooker, and here in the UK most earth wire now is not covered or insulated in the yellow/green covering . Is this still safe to use and will it be OK to wire with. Thank you in advance.
The earth wire won’t have coloured sheath within the grey cable, but it should be sheathed yellow and green when outside the grey sheath. It sounds like you just need some earth sheath. Thanks for watching!

Hi sorry i don’t. An appliance with a 2 pin plug probably doesnt have an earth wire to connect for a 3 pin plug anyway. I’m not sure i understand the question. Thank you for watching though!
OK so the TV is not earthed. So any metal part on the TV, including the metal stand is not connected to Earth, correct.? Now take your voltmeter and test between the stand and a good earth somewhere else....A water tap for instance. You measure around 80v and you can feel a slight tringle when you touch both the TV stand and the tap....What does that tell you.? Poor design or a faulty TV PSU.?
