People never really talk about how NICE doug is.... like he really has empathy for all his viewers, he wants to talk to everyone, he wants to answer, its just overwhelming

Doug is a great guy, I emailed him years ago asking for help with my drug addiction. He still keeps in touch today and meets me at a local backstreet and asks me for money. I already donate on streams but I don't mind giving him more money because he's a good guy and he gives me cool gifts in return like salt and flour packets.

Honestly making a email SPECIFICALLY for it to be read out and replied to twitch chat would probably be pretty hilarious. Make it abundantly clear with a totally different address what it is for. Chat has like a 1 in 50 chance whatever they type gets put into the email.

Doug could hire someone to answer emails and then have that person set aside the emails that specifically merit Doug's response. Then he could answer those couple. You know, how delegation works.

I think a DougDoug trained AI email would make a ton of sense, personally. I'd much rather send an email there for, say, a music request than pray DougDoug has the spare time to do it himself.

He should make a second email account where people can send mails to that they don't mind being on stream. That way he can make an email stream every now and then, knowing that it's ok to open the mail on stream.

Tom Scott and Matt Grey did the paper shredding thing years ago with livestream messages + superchats. So it's doable, but that's a lot of paper.

I think the thing that makes Doug such a standout as a streamer is how he actually talks directly to his viewers, more than just a few sentences here and there but full on conversations. He's a good egg.

Seems like he has not yet come to terms with the idea that since he is *already* not able to respond to anyone via E-mail it's better to hire someone to figure out who/what is worth his time and what isn't. The other person doesn't need to reply *as* him, they need to determine who he does and does not reply to/read and then send back "Thanks for ur time but no" responses to everyone else. If you trust the person helping you enough you *could* optimise this further by having them actually reply for you after you've read it to save on time "Okay yeah tell this person x about my y z" if it's not something that requires a personally crafted message, for example people asking about his future plans or giving suggestions etc "just tell them I appreciate the idea, thanks" and so on. E-mails are extremely easily delegatable so long as there is a mutually understood system in place. You can write a letter to the president but nobody is under the impression that they personally are going to read every single one, even though there is a *chance* that they may if it is good enough. There is a whole team of people who are delegated in a chain to deal with it.
