In this video, I'll be discussing the life of Benny Parsons, a NASCAR legend who was a driving force in the Winston Cup Series and one of the original broadcasters in NASCAR.
From his racing career to his broadcasting career, Benny Parsons was a major player in NASCAR history. In this video, I'll discuss some of his notable highlights and tell some of the fascinating stories behind his life and career. Benny Parsons was an icon in NASCAR and this video is a great way to learn more about one of the NASCAR legends!

He indeed was the best - He was John Madden of NASCAR - I've been a fan of the sport since around the early mid 1990's and I'll definitely agree those NBC/TNT days from 2001 to 2004 were special & still to this day go back & watch races on here from that period. Benny's presence in the sport is truly missed every weekend just like Bob Jenkins & Ned Jarrett too when they were working with Benny.

BP still affects NASCAR to this day his wife helped reopen north wilksboro as a promise she had made to Benny when he was dying God bless the both of them

"Man, oh man" you deserve more subscribers! Great video tribute to Benny Parsons. I met him working at my home track at Martinsville in the 90s. Nicest guy anyone could meet! Keep up the good work!

Benny's the absolute GOAT! i watched him almost lap the field at the 600 in Charlotte. For many years he would cover Cup qualifying for a radio station in Statesville, NC- Years before they ever put quali on TV. It wasn't MRN either. He did so much for the sport. Glad his legacy lives on in Wilkesboro!

Let me tell you a story; My wife & I started going to Caraway in the 1978 season . We parked on the back straight near the track gate. Benny came over to the track to have some pictures made for Tex Powell who was a former crew member on Benny's championship team. My oldest boy was told by someone " hey that's Benny Parsons, he drives race cars". Ten seconds later I couldn't find find him ! Went looking found Mike sitting on the hood of Benny's Firebird, & Benny was talking to him like an old friend. I apologized for Mike bugging him & he laughed it off said if he could just get all of his fans to be like my boy his career would be good. Benny you are one of the good ones!

I remember growing up listening to BP alongside some of the absolute greatest commentators… Bob Jenkins, Ned Jarrett, Alan Bestwick & Wally Dallenbach. So many amazing voices but Benny was such a fun character..would’ve loved to meet him but I’m so glad people still love him to this day.
