The Ferrari F1-75 - named in celebration of 75 years of the Prancing Horse - is the car Formula 1’s most famous team hopes will propel it back into title contention.
It’s certainly pulled out all of the stops thanks to what team principal Mattia Binotto has described as a ‘brave Ferrari’ to take on the challenges of F1’s dramatic regulation changes.
When it comes to thinking outside the box, a phrase Binotto used of the design approach, he must have been talking about Ferrari’s unique sidepod design. This area of the car is the one that has produced the most variations in the 2022 cars we’ve seen so far, but no team has gone as aggressive as Ferrari has.

For anyone confused as to why they had a 90 year celebration in 2019 then have a 75 year on this car; - Ferrari road cars began with the 125 S in 1947. - Ferrari racing cars have been around longer, 1908 Enzo Ferrari began making and tweaking cars for racing.

Such an exciting time to be a F1 fan. Who's ideas will work best, who has gambled most and comes up short? Very interesting. BTW, good job with these breakdowns on the new designs.

McLaren in 2011 did something similar with the "valley" between the side pod and the car. Obviously it's different.

The side pod can be quite worrying in rain conditions with water building up, like a bucket of water

Ferrari has made "...daring design decisions in a power unit package that is very different". They have had fuel pumps that fooled the fuel flow sensor, and burning oil from the intercooler in the past, so I wonder what they have come up with this year?
@ADreadBellow
@ADreadBellow 2 года назад
Mate I am not confident with this car. They keep saying “Daring” which translates too we hope it’s gonna work but if it fails it’s because we took a big risk. I hope they are just being bold and actually using its resources too create an out of the box car.

Yep. Consistent front-two row starts, consistent podiums, overall plus s/f ratings; looks possible with the new rules and those drivers. Possible 2nd in WDC and WCC. Or better?

It is making the ground effects as wide as possible for central stability with it's pod. The wider the ground effects the more total body suction. This car should be very stable and forgiving. Won't crash and be little effected by dirty air. Less nose DF made up by the floor.

There seems to be lots of discussion about how the teams are dealing with the new regulations and how that has lead to designs providing the best aero advantage for their own car, however the regulations were largely brought in to reduce turbulence behind the cars impacting on the performance of those following, it's not been mentioned but surely some of the teams must be incorporating elements that both improve their own aero but also generate as much dirty air behind them as possible.

The Ferrari F1-75 is quite eye catching and innovative in designs shown so far. I am quite looking forward to tomorrow's launch of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 and then testing. Although I am a Mercedes-AMG F1 fan, I am also a fan of Ferrari, especially during the Michael Schumacher era.I would like to see Ferrari join the constructors and drivers championship fight with Mercedes and Red Bull.
