Here is why Civic are such easy cars to steal. Here is a video that will help secure a little: Kill switch on 1999 Honda Civic: • Kill switch on 1999 Ho... Viper: amzn.to/2pIaHtq
I stood in front of a guy who took a blade off of a metal rake, popped the door open on a 95 Civic got inside and turned on the ignition and just took off. Two seconds later the owner runs out of the house straight out of the shower, wearing nothing but a towel chasing him down the road barefoot at 10 o'clock at night.
LMFAO damn shaggy stop smoking that shit already. I did the same thing with my Toyota camery 98 I was pretty drunk and didn't notice it was a different car for a good while I started looking around I finally said oh shit I'm in the wrong car lol
Ford Rangers are scary easy. One time someone called me, who locked their keys in one. In one minute, I had talk them into their truck, over the phone.
It's easier to remove the column shroud, 2 screws or break it. There are 2 screws holding the top of the ignition on. Get that off then all you have to do is turn the base with a spoon and the car starts. Steering lock and immobilizer is a must! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H-F5cm-vtVU.html
Well hopefully it was someone that already owned a car and hopefully the key they broke off in yr ignition column was the key to their own car (Which unfortunately would likely be a car they had stolen from someone else anyway, but still!) bc that would serve them right for being a POS thief! Either way, I hate that happened to you... If it makes you feel any better just think about how frustrated they had to have been when they broke their car key off in yr ignition column and how mad they had to have been when they had to pay $250-350 to get their car towed to a mechanic shop for it to be key re-keyed, re-chipped, and re-programmed
Hondas are the most popular car to steal they have a Lotta aftermarket parts headlights engine doors the hustle All you need is a Honda 🔑 Lock your car up in the garage thieves are out on the street
My 97 EX was stolen, all the locks wouldn't work with my key. The insurance adjusted told me and civic key and moving it back and forth would eventually Pop the lock. Best anti-theft is to jam the key hole and get remote popping locks. Or replace the front door locks with sedan handles which have no locks. Then use remote keyless entry.
i have a 1994 civic its really difficult to steal my car because i pull my ecu and bring it inside wherever i go how many car thieves do you know have a spare ecu with them. mine won't start without it and a lot cheaper than getting a removable seeing wheel or viper alarm system =]
Everyone I know that is into 92 to 2000 Civics has about 3 extra ecu's. Sometimes I can get them a the junk yard for $35. They can be had for cheaper then a pair of bolt cutters. Getting ready to make some videos on how to make it harder to get your car stolen. Think a smoke bomb under the hood would attracted way more attention then a car alarm :)
tubejim101 true but if it won't start most people are just trying to be as quick as possible with it and if it doesn't start they'll just move on to the next one. i also switch around a plug with a coil on my distributor cap =]
+Cameron Shynovick A town truck is immune to ur securities. FYI my friends hondas dont get stolen by hands no more. Thieves brings trucks and just town it straight out
+phajej1993 thats what im scared of.. I know my integra won't get broken into 1) alarm and 2)club 3) I always park it where cameras are present when I work or go to school 4) not everyone knows how to drive stick, but I fear that some dickhead will come and just tow it away in plain sight.. people would never suspect a thing
My 2009 Hyndia Accent was just recently stolen in St Petersburg Florida about a week or so ago 4 door sky blue. F94 2FG if you have any information call police
I have heard of some cars where you could jump on the rear bumper, and it thinks your in a crash and pops the locks. I have never found one that did that.
They just stole mine a couple days ago, but this is very true I left my keys on the car a few times before and any car key basically would do the trick 😑
The two chunks of Civic years are: 92 to 95. Then they changed. The next chunk is 96 to 00. I don't mess with Civics before 92 or after 00. To answer your question. Yes.
@@ThatCarGuy1983 We know "Lightning" doesnt even own a car. He pulls his moms geo metro out from under the tarp once a week. Who comes to videos of cars they hate? I dont care for mustangs and a lot of others cars so i've never once gone to their vids. Its a weird "flex" to basically say "my station wagon is better"
+tubejim101 wow thanks for the quick reply. I always wondered if it was for all Hondas. No one ever seems to mess with it anyway when it sits at the Firehouse, but still never know, it's my pride and joy since I'm not married yet I invest my money in that lol
Go get an alarm installed. When you get out of your car at Walmart, and hit the door lock button. When the bad guys hear the alarm chirp, they move on to another car. Thank you for your service.
Hi there! I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic Coupe directly from a Honda dealer. I instantly thought that about installing an alarm to the car. Thankfully the dealer offer me one at a discount, so I said yes. My question to you is if my car would still be at risk to get stolen even though it has an alarm from the dealership.
My key for my 97 civic ex actually opened my dads civic lx i was suprside but it did not turn the car on how ever my big brothers 2000 civic ex did open his car and turned it on with his key it was scary and suprising to see how easy it was
I'm a big fan of 90s Hondas, the security is a joke, I lost a 93 civic. My current car is a 94 Del Sol. I never ever leave it without a Disklok fitted, I've had my Sol for 6 years and never been touched. Obviously I'm practised at fitting and removal. Takes me approx 10 seconds. If you have a 90 s a Honda or a Land rover and don't use a Disklok you are insane.
explains why keyhole on drivers side of my Civic is dented up. I thought I lost my car keys a while back. They were more likely stolen. Changing keys so they don’t say HONDA up top. Thanks for vid, and with so many people losing their homes, jobs, everything, be extra careful.
My Volvo 240 drift car still uses a key but its not the ignition anymore, the key is basically the power switch then the ignition is wiredto my defrost switch so you have to have the keys and then have to know that a button that would never EVER start your car is the button to actually turn it out, its pretty fool proof, plus the car is so crazy and has so many weird features youd have to be the dumbest car thief to take it, you'll be found within minutes or the cops will pull you over anyway, cant drive that thing one day without getting pulled over haha
Depends on who took it. In Oregon, we have trouble with the tweakers (people strung out on meth) taking cars. They usually get caught. If real car thieves get it, they tend to strip them for parts. Around here, sometimes they leave the car in the woods. Sorry for your lose.
+tubejim101 I have and love an HX. Rated 30-39 and almost every tank is in the 40s. Lean Burn basically became illegal on new cars in 2005, but the oxygen sensors and ECMs are expensive. You can purchase over a hundred gallons of gas for the price of a new sensor! If that does not work, they insist you need a new computer, which will not work properly without paying the dealership to configure. Who knows?!
The bosch oxygen sensors work well and are just under $50. You don't need to have your ecu reprogrammed. Your ecu is most likely ok. If you need it replaced, you can get them as low as $35, if you shop around.
