Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

Bee loving “Olive Hairdresser” just another profession to add to your list. Just an idea if you have trouble going to sleep, try and count how many professions you have. I must admit after watching you and Theo doing so much work, you soon go to sleep. Theo did an amazing job clearing your other property of half of the Broom, a little credit to that Steel Blade. Love ❤️ to you both xxxxx

Same here in the U.S. Even if the tubers breaks, you can still transplant them. Wrapp a wet cloth or paper around them for the ride. No matter how many you take, there will still b e tubers left in the ground that will come up next year.

@@theindieprojects I haven't read every comment, so I'll just echo the consensus: yes, they are easily replanted, but it's best to wait until after flowering, mid to late summer (if you sell the house sooner, the buyers will surely be happy to share some with you), before taking them up, so that the energy has gone back into the rhizomes to support them for the next year. As you dig them out, cut leaves back to 10 - 15 cm. Plant them with the top of the rhizome out of the ground. You can wrap them in newspaper and keep in a cool dark spot if you can't plant them right away. There's lots of other info on line for how-to. They look like regular bearded iris, rather than any of the wild species, so they'll surely be sturdy and reliable in your garden. I have a nice collection of various colors shared by friends over the years.

I have almost enough iris to fill a 50 foot by 50 foot space. I have transplanted so many and thrown away a ton of them. Here in the USA, and kind of in the middle of 6 transplant them almost any time the ground is workable. Good luck with them!

it's so great to see you both healthy and working together again! Great idea to sell the first place to be able to focus on the new one. In spite of everything you've been through, it does seem a better choice for you two. Running water and air con, easy refrigeration for food - so much more comfortable even though you're working hard always. Life is nice when we have some comfort.

I cannot express how much it makes my heart happy to see Bea out there in the sunshine working alongside Theo. I am so hopeful for you guys future on Miracle Mountain. You can definitely dig up the irises. It actually is beneficial to the original plant to thin them out. Otherwise they get to the point they stop flowering. You can also dig up some of the rose bush if the cuttings dont take root. Great job on giving the olives a haircut. Do you harvest the olives? How do you preserve them? Would love to see how you preserve the bountiful harvest of your fruit trees.

My friends and I swap and/or give away iris bulbs every few years as ours continue to thicken. I have some lovely peach iris that I (sort of) consider 'heritage', as they originally came from my friend's grandmother's garden that she planted back in the 50s or 60s. It's a wonderful way to share, and to keep memories alive of friends and loved ones. Hugs from Maine, USA.

We used the bentonite in our pond because the muskrats dug tube holes in the pond retaining walls. Bubbles started coming up from the retaining walls the first summer after the pond was dug. And we were very worried the wall was gonna rupture, but we use that stuff and all the bubbles stopped. And then we got the muskrats out of the pond and didn't have any more problems with them drilling into the sides and making tunnels and weakening the walls. Hope it works for you too. In the u, s, we didn't have to go to spain to get it though!! Lol.

Thank you for bringing this issue up and helping women who are going through this through awareness. I had a hysterectomy and that finally solved my issues, however they don't tell you the new problems that will come after that, for example hot flashes and mood swings.
