Having seen Season 1 of One Punch Man, I can definatley see why David Wood relate to Saitama. David suffers from his inability to empathize like Saitama is getting Bored with his strength and yet both Heroes peruse their goals to help the world because they want to. And of Course, Both heroes can take out threats with one blow. I can imagine that Nabeel Qureshi was like Genos, Vocab Malone was like Mumen Rider and his wife Marie, 'Whaddoyoumeme' and his other colleagues in his ministry are like the other heroes. Let's just hope David doesn't miss anymore Grocery Sales.

I never thought that I’d ever hear Saitama being discussed in a Catholic show. Nice! OPM’s premise of a human struggling with overwhelming ennui because he’s the strongest mortal person in existence is hilarious. However, I say that most of the “questionable” content in the series is not just questionable but downright disturbing and unsuitable for minors.

As a person who grew up on anime, I would like to know how should us Catholic go about choosing what shows to watch. Mainly my question is about temperance and how to approach with caution and discernment the things we consume.

There really is a lack of Catholic weebs that are vocal on the internet and its a shame. Like even Matt Walsh was negative about it just because he doesent understand which really only ends up pushing the narrative that Anime is bad and sinfull or obscene when really its oriented towards the good of God and less obscene than much of American entertainment these days. Viewing Anime as a Catholic Christian myself has really broadened my understanding of the world and of God also.

I'm curious what you'd think of Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's miles deep with symbolism and philosophy, I'm convinced some of the later movies take some direct biblical inspiration. Some find it boring, but the interpersonal relationships that are built up are as deep as they go.

Who has had such a dedicated friend, so concerned about your core belief system? I love *and* admire David Wood. Honestly though, and I say this as a non-Christian, watching David take down Islam is like how he described One Punch Man. Like honestly if I were him I’d just be bored because Islam is the easiest religion to refute. There are times I almost wish he’d debate me or a colleague on monotheism vs. polytheism or something, just to actually test his skills against what I believe a worthy opponent. Of course I know better not cause I think I’m wrong but because I know that a debate between me and David Wood would be like Bruce Lee vs a toddler who just learned how to support their own head.

Anime has no power but to me they seem like all have something relatable to each other atleast the animes i watch. The animes i used to watch like yugioh all i know is that Jesus is the savior/protagonist and then there is the character that is more like his rival but then starts to work with him later on in the show. I see goku and vegeta, naruto and saskue, kenshiro and raoh, yugi and kaiba, jaden and chazz, yusei and jack, sonic and shadow, ash and gary etc. Jesus is the savior/hero and then there is someone who is his enemy/rival that works with him later on. maybe i was his rival i wasn't the worst of sinners, as i didn't commit all kinds of sins. the only problem i truly had was tv, videogames, bad language, lust and porn. I was my own god who believed in God at a very young age but never knew or read about the God of the Bible also i believe the devil was active with me revealing himself to me through dreams and talking to me at times.

What does one punch man has anything to do with Christianity?

I find one punch man boring because I can't get over the fact that he can defeat all enemies with a single punch. But, it is fitting for David Wood's ministry, because he essentially one punched Islam with every video he uploads. Thing is, Islam is like the mercury guy in terminator, it splatters but it can merge back thanks to its non-thinking followers.

David Wood is also doing a great job by constantly highlighting the oppression and persecution of Christians all over the world. A topic that CA and this channel seem to have no time for, with their fixation on Sola Scriptura and other arcana.
